Want your western omelet wrapped in a thick crepe? Go here.Want your pizza wrapped in a crepe? Go here. Want your Philly cheese steak wrapped in a crepe? This is the place. They ONLY do crepes. The crepes are thick and taste like pancakes. The crepe cannot be separated From the other ingredients. We were not thrilled with the everything gets wrapped in a crepe concept for savory food. Perhaps the crepes are great with sweet fillings, but we didn't try them. This is an ultra casual, informal, order at the counter, place set in an old home. The coffee and juice smoothies were very good.We were offered salsa for our crepes and were each served one teaspoon and the container of salsa was taken away. It's an odd place for breakfast that despite the great ratings, doesn't live up. I am giving 3 stars for the friendly owner/ cook, fair prices, and convenient parking. The food was average at best.

Popped in for a quick lunch and was delighted with a crispy Philly cheesesteak with mushroom crepe! For a savory lunch crepe, the crispy (not burnt just cooked to crisp a bit) was actually quite nice. Initially, I required some clarification on their process - have a seat, look at the menu, fill out your own ticket, bring the ticket to the counter and grab a drink if you put it on your ticket. Then, your food comes out and is brought to you when it's ready and you go back to the counter to pay before you leave.... Basically it's just fast casual style. The initial entry is a bit confusing and cluttered, but the dining area is nice and open.

This was a very confusing dinning experience. There was no guidance on if you seat your self or if you go to the counter. Then we wrote our order on a ticket and put it in a bucket. Because of this other tables who sat after us got their food first. Then on multiple occasions we were asked if a drink/food was ours and it was not. We saw one of our dishes be taken to 3 other tables and placed down before being brought to ours. They also ran out of batter for the waffle pops at 11:30am when they are open till 3:30pm. We also waited 1hour+ after ordering for our food (two crepes and a frappe). The Thai Tea frappe just tasted like green tea and the crepes, while fine, didn't have much taste. The strawberries were fresh though.

What a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth! Bitter Sweet looks like a renovated house and it feels like you are at home. When you enter, decide where you want to sit and peruse the menu. You will then fill out your own order/waiter ticket and bring it to the counter. While you wait for your order, there are a variety of table games that you can play. There are also some local arts and crafts for sale that you can check out. I went with two crepes: the pepperoni pizza crepe and the smores crepe. Both were outstanding choices! Really, everything on the menu and at the tables around us looked great. The smores was definitely the highlight for me. Bitter Sweet is in a pink building in a really cool small town. Side note - If you're looking to get married, there are bridal shops everywhere! But even if you aren't headed to the altar, I would highly recommend Bitter Sweet and the entire area in general. It was a very cool pit stop in between soccer games.

Absolutely love this place! My second time here and I'm have not been disappointed. It's a small little pink building. Everything is pretty much self served. You sit anywhere you like and write your order on a slip of paper and bring it to the cashier. Then they'll make your order and bring it out to you. You pay at the same cashier too. They have both sweet and savory crepes where you can build your own or add ingredients to existing menu selections.Would recommend the triple chocolate one. That's my personal favourite. Comes with Nutella, Oreo in a chocolate brownie crepe. You can add other fruit or toppings to it to. I added strawberries to mine!

I'd been wanting to try Bitter Sweet for some time, especially since it's close. I was able to DoorDash and you can also use GrubHub or, if you're within a certain distance, the restaurant will deliver for free. They offer both sweet and savory crepes, waffles on a stick with different fillings, coffee, latte, smoothies and milkshake.I ordered a pick-your-own crepe of cheddar, mozzarella, beef, bacon and mushrooms. They didn't skimp on ingredients and that crepe was huge! It was two meals. On a whim, I got the waffle on a stick with bacon inside. (They have various other fillings.) Get this!! It was soft like a pancake and nice as a little treat. Lastly, I couldn't resist the brownie crepe with Nutella, oreos and chocolate syrup. So good! Another positive about this business is the owners are often involved with local charitable efforts, like gathering Christmas presents and hosting pictures with Santa for kids in need.

This is honestly my favorite spot to go, they have the best crepes that you'll try. I am very picky with sweets since sometimes they are to sweet or bland, but this is the one place where it's absolutely perfect. I've brought people with a WIDE variety of tastes and likes and every single Person is always excited to go back! I've had a variety of exploring with crepes but no place is as good as this one. They are so family friendly with all the decorations and the mini games you are able to pick. it's also a fun and cheery place to have hang out with your friends and little cute cafe dates. They have good service, the staff and owner remember me and the people I take even tho we don't go every month since I have moved out of the city. However, when I am back I am always so excited to come to my little place and eat crepes!

My daughter and I were in Reading at the bridal district. We had about an hour between appointments and wanted to get a coffee. I googled coffee shops in Reading and noticed Bitter Sweet was just around the corner within walking distance and had a 4.8 rating, so we went there. I'm an ex restaurant worker of 15+ years. I have worked EVERY position from back of the house to the front. The experience here was one of the worst possbile. When we walked in a girl got a table together for us with folding chairs to sit on. The chairs didn't feel very sturdy and I actually felt like I was sitting on the floor. Then she told us to write down our order on a pad of paper and take it to the register. Really! Who does this! So if there's any issue with what you're ordering or how you wrote it you will have no idea. Two rules in a restaurant is that you get drinks out immediately and check on customers frequently. Neither of which apply here apparently. After sitting there for 45 minutes the girl, who seems very unsure of what she's doing, brings our paper over to clarify some items. Keep in mind we stopped in for coffee until our next appointment and we also had ordered a smoothie and two omelettes. At this point we're all in aw that they hadn't even got to our order yet as this is a small place with probably less than 50 people there that literally could easily be run by a handful or less of people. We ended up going up to the register and cancelling the food and requested that the coffees and smoothie be made immediately as we needed to run at this point to the next appointment. Now for the drink assessment. Neither coffee was very good, however the strawberry smoothie was good. The smoothie gets a 4 star rating. We were telling the next appointment about our horrible experience as we had no time to drink our drinks and could not bring them in, and we were a little late. They also had negative things to say about Bitter Sweet and recommended another place for coffee in the future as we live very close to Reading. Unfortunately, we will not be going back to Bitter Sweet nor could I ever recommend them to anyone else. I honestly don't know how they ever got a 4.8 rating!

Such a warm and lovely staff, the crepes are so good you'd think you were in Paris. Delicious coffee freshly brewed, cute place with a funky fresh vibe. A little gift shop rounds out the dining area for something to do while you wait! Reasonable prices and good food will keep you coming back!
