Erin truly hit it out of the park. Make this tour the first thing you book when coming to Lexington so that you can use that knowledge for the rest of your stay! This was one of the best food tours that we have ever taken. Can't recommend more highly- just do it!

My sister booked the tour for my Bachelorette and OMG. I'm hooked on food tours forever now.Erin was amazing, from the moment we stepped foot into the start of the tour, we were welcome. She paid attention to all the guests, and knew my name just because I had a "Bride" tiara on. She is amazing with names and makes you feel at home. She has a phenomenal mix of history and food. The history is SO COOL, unique facts that you wouldn't learn anywhere else. She is also full of tons of recommendations. The food was PHENOMENAL the whole tour. All the restaurants picked were so tasty and there was so much food by the end of it. A bunch of the spots had beer and cocktails for purchase, we literally didn't have anything we didn't like. The best start to our trip. HIGHLY recommend. The best experience ever!!!

We went on one these tours last weekend and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. Keep in mind, this is not our first food tour. We have been to some in other cities and this was our first disappointing one. First the good. The people were super nice and accommodating. The guide was well versed in local history and what I guess you would call "the food scene" in Lexington. Now the bad. Nearly every story told was from an oppressed minority groups perspective and not just oppressed, but many were bawdy tales that the guide rather enjoyed discussing (prostitution, cross dressing, sodomy, drunkenness, etc.) Very few were just good or even interesting stories. They mostly had to do with someone's sexuality, racism, oppressed women or otherwise shameful behavior. I'm not saying don't talk about any of that, but if you're going to center the tour around oppression and sodomy, maybe retitle the tour "The LGBT tour" or something. Believe it or not, that's not the worst part. Remember we have been on other FOOD tours. We all left wanting more. I wouldn't say we left hungry, but there wasn't an abundance of food on this food tour. The dessert stop was pretty pitiful actually. A couple slivers of apricot, a quarter of a strawberry and a few slivers of chocolate in the back room of a lounge. I have to say, the last stop put the icing on the disappointing cake. There is good news for the owners though. Both of my complaints are easily fixed. Don't make every story about some poor, oppressed, or unsavory group and increase the volume of food. Otherwise, I have to give it two thumbs down.

KY native, but knew nothing about the history of Lexington. Went on a walking food tour with Elena and Erin and was one of the highlights of my visiting with my family. Learned lots of interesting things about Lexington history, ate lots of good food, loved the inclusivity of the tour and what was shared. You can definitely feel the time and energy that Erin has put into researching everything, making the local connections, and sharing it in the tours. We started at Zim's and the chicken bites we were given were perfectly cooked. Walked to Triangle Park and made our way to Pies and Pints, had an amazing pizza there. Also got bites and drinks at Jack's, and we ended the day at the Lockbox. All of the food was delicious, and our guide Elena was super friendly. Erin was also very friendly, and shared lots of extra interesting facts while we were walking. Definitely recommend for both locals and visitors looking for something fun to do.Next time I'm in town I will definitely look into the cocktail one!

Don't listed to that Alan review. This tour is the perfect balance of real Lexington and Kentucky history and delicious food. Our guides were so knowledgeable and so fun to talk to. I lived here for 15 years and all the stories were ones I never knew! The food was fantastic and we will go on many more tours with this company every time we come back to visit.

Erin and Lionel were INCREDIBLE!!! I loved all of the spots we visited - Zim's, School Sushi, Ethereal, The Grove and MORE!!! We had such great food, and I was definitely full by the end of it. The history and stories shared about Lexington were unmatched and made me fall in love with Lexington even more. I highly recommend all to go on a Bites of the Bluegrass Tour with Erin and her team :)
