Quick review to say that their drive-thru service is quick and efficient. I was on the hunt for Campari after striking out at the Kroger liquor store next door. I pulled up and was immediately greeted by the cashier, wearing a mask. I told him what I wanted and he found it quickly. It was rung up, bagged and passed through the window in a matter of minutes. This is a clutch liquor store to have nearby. It doesn't have a giant inventory, but it has the basics and then some. And the drive-thru is a plus especially during these COVID times.

A respectable neighborhood liquor store that served me well when I lived in Clifton Heights. Their ace in the hole is their selection of beer singles, which is diverse and ever-changing. Beverage World does a good job curating its craft beer lineup and knows how to leverage this beyond mere 6-packs. I wish more liquor stores did this, frankly. As far as liquor and wine are concerned, the selection is pretty milquetoast but generally gets the job done. Prices tend to trend slightly above average, but not egregiously so and they compare favorably to Captain's Cellar down the street. The staff is polite and the store never feels like it's in disarray. In all, Beverage World is a reliable, low-key option for when you just want to get in-and-out instead of getting sucked into the Total Wine void.

What's with all these local chains I am just now discovering years after living in my hometown? Were these always here? Did they just pop up out of the ether to troll me and my local knowledge? I have questions.Since giving up the gluten, I am not as regular a frequenter of liquor stores (how I used to love me some beer) but when I have occasion to enter one, I like to shop local. On this evening, I was keeping it pretty basic: beer and cider. For a smaller store, I thought the selection was decent. I wasn't looking for any craft beer outliers, so I can't speak on the availability in that regard. I was impressed that the cider selection was more than Angry Orchard. There were varietals (is that the right word to use in this context?) I'd never seen before. I wanted to buy them but I knew the other cider drinkers were looking for something with a bit more universal appeal. A quick scan of the tequila collection revealed some good choices. I wouldn't be surprised to find some real gems if given the time to look around. The price was right and the service was disinterested but not rude so... good. A-OK, even. If a neighborhood resident (or, boozing at a neighborhood home), you know what to do.

Small liquor store that offers most of the commonly sought for items. Cold beer cave inside and other refrigerated items, including the bottle of rose we picked up. I especially appreciated the individual beers you could pick up - sometimes a 6 pack of one thing isn't what you're feeling. Fair prices, quick service at the counter and drive thru available when you don't feel like going inside.

Went through the drive through yesterday for a 12 pack. The clerk was super friendly and started an interesting conversation about my drink of choice. It is at a convenient location and the price seemed reasonable.

To say it's unpretentious is an understatement. It's living proof that booze is the great equalizer - there's everything from local drunks (who are always sweet hearts, actually) to businessmen stopping by after work at any given time. Good prices, decent selection for a small liquor store, and it very much has that friendly neighborhood hooch store feel. They even started carrying a reasonably priced German Riesling for Boy Toy and I after we fell in love with it at a sushi restaurant... $34 at said restaurant, $11.99 at Beverage World. We do take out sushi a lot now. Enough said.

Beverage World at Brownsboro Rd and Ewing (2332 Brownsboro Rd. Louisville, KY 40206) is by far the worst liquor establishment I have experienced. The staff is rude, lacking in knowledge which pertains to the products including wine and liquor. The staff also dresses very sloppy. Old stretched out/faded tees and baggy denim. The prices indicated on the shelf and their pricing stickers are incorrect. You get charged two or three more dollars. The selection is so so. Most items on the shelf are covered in dust. The owner of this establishment is never there to take on any issues or concerns. I could proceed further, but I am sure if anyone reading this has encountered this location at all they know exactly what I am talking about.
