This winery has also been on my radar. Not too far from Turtle Run I came here to check the place out myself. Like Turtle Run this place is located on a gravel road with houses around and proper signage. Here the tasting is unlimited for $5. My favorite was probably the mango flavor. I of course tried the maple syrup flavor and, it did taste like maple syrup. The host told me they buy the syrup locally and make it into wine, Very interesting. This is also another place I plan on coming back to. The host was friendly and knowledgeable and this place is a good escape from society as well.

Never disappoints. The best winery in the area. We have been here a few times and it's consistently good. We love the wines and spirits. Particularly he county red and chambourcin. Strawberry flame is a great port wine. Can't wait to return with friends and family

First off, unlimited samples for FREE?! It would be crazy to not make this a stop on a southern Indiana wine tour. I grew up about 25 minutes from here and had no idea about it until this year, glad I found it. Wide range of dry and sweet wines in addition to spirits. On Saturday's they also fire up the slushy machines and offer a wine a bourbon slushy. Wish we got to try these. I was super interested in the jalapeño vodka, but don't enjoy sipping any spirit straight so she set me up with a small Bloody Mary sample. Converted me to a Bloody Mary lover and I ended up buying the mix they carry in the store. There's a great patio connected to sit outside and share a bottle of wine (or a few) with friends. Unfortunately they lost their vineyard a couple years back and never replanted. I do prefer a place that grows a portion of their own grapes, but just an aesthetic/personal preference. Would absolutely suggest making this a stop next time you're near southern Indiana.

I will say upfront that we did not have super high expectations for Best Vineyards. We wanted to go to one more winery in the area before heading home to KY, and after a quick look on Yelp, the two closest to our current location had the same ratings, and Best was closer. Also....we were told they also produce spirits for sampling as well. So to Best we went! From Turtle Run, there are homemade signs along the way to direct you to their location. They are on the same wine trail, so the people at Turtle Run were happy to give us easily follow-able directions to their place. The homemade signs are a good indication of what to expect. This place isn't going to blow you away with its appearance. But they make up for it with their passion. We got there and, I always think it is a good sign when there is a winery pet to greet you when you get there. Two dawgs! Petting pups abounds. Anyway....Berretta was our tasting guide. The wine tasting is free. They primarily have sweeter wines, which I am a-ok with. Since this was our third winery of the day, I didn't go too overboard on the tastings. Also, because I wanted to sample the liquors! Berretta was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the wines. She also offered some mixers for me for a few of the hard alcohols that I knew I was going to need. Cranberry juice and cola to go with a few of them. The liquor tastings cost $5 and you get to sample every one of them. The limoncello is tasty, and is surprisingly good with cranberry juice. The moonshines are nice too.You can get cocktails made with their spirits while there as well. The fella and I each got one to drink while Wilbert showed us around the facility. Rachel was there working too, and it was a really interesting visit! They are working on some gins and other flavorings, and we got to smell some of the tests. It was really cool, and a neat surprise that we weren't expecting.I think the people we interacted with bumped this place up a whole star. They really made our visit wonderful. We left with a bottle of wine that the fella wanted, but for me it was all just fine. Nothing I needed. But it was such a good overall experience, I would certainly recommend a visit here if you were in the area.

My husband and I visited Best Winery and Distillery on an early Saturday evening before they closed at 7:00 pm. Their location in Elizabeth is on a scenic and very hilly country road. We have been to Best before but it had been several years. I recall it was a favorite winery of mine because they offer many sweet wines on their menu. Our hosts that day were Wilbert and Beretta and they entertained us with their knowledge and expertise. We really enjoyed our wine and the conversation. They are happy to share their story and it is an interesting one! We opted to taste all of the sweet wines they offer and really loved them all. My favorite was the Blue Bird, which is a grape wine with blueberry flavors that we ended up taking home. Best is adding live entertainment on Saturdays starting in July for the remainder of the summer. If you are in Southern Indiana make Best one of your stops to have a bottle of wine and meet Wilbert and Beretta.

Went here with a date this past Sunday. I called ahead of time to make sure they were open due to some snow that had come through the day prior; they informed me that they'd be open. We made the drive to Elizabeth Indiana, on some back country roads (not taking the direct route). The area was beautiful and peaceful with a blanket of snow covering the ground. When we arrived at Best Vineyards, we found the drive plowed, and were directed where to park. Wilbert met us as we exited the car, and showed us inside. I am not a wine connoisseur, and my date and I both tend to like wines that are sweeter, as opposed to dry. Wilbert was extremely friendly and personable. We enjoyed sampling a multitude of wines as well as some liqueurs. Wilbert even suggested some other wineries that had sweet wines he thought we may enjoy. Would definitely go back!
