We toured the Belvedere and were able to see wonderful views of the Ohio River, southern Indiana (including the Falls of the Ohio and the Colgate Clock), and downtown Louisville. Statues of George Rogers Clark and York with informational signage are placed near the top of the area. Planting beds and trees were lush and a green respite amongst the concrete jungle. The brick overlook is laid out with an outlined map of Kentucky with larger cities noted. Plenty of pathway lighting and easily navigated area is easily accessible for all mobility needs.

Just a cool spot to hang out and view the river. There wasn't anything going on ( no festival or music) just a few folks walking around enjoying the solitude and scenery. There are plenty of benches to sit and relax, great views of the river and a great place to people watch.

This spot has declined since its hayday back 20yrs ago. Festivals and gatherings every weekend. However, it is still very clean, great views of the river, access to Belle, and a beautiful fountain system. Actually one of downtown Louisville's most romantic spots.

Belvedere riverfront is a spacious park area used for relaxing and some minor outdoor events In Downtown Louisville on a up ramp above the expressway with a great view of the Ohio river front. The park as mentioned is very spacious with nice places to sit or lay out. It is a popular lunch. Real destination for the downtown workers and offers beautiful views of the city and the Ohio river. The area also has two really cool public art statues in George Rogers Clark and the statue of York. The George Roger Clark statue is feature prominently at the very end in the middle literally overlooking the river. It's is a noticeable landmark from the expressway as well. Overall very nice and relaxing place and great place to take on a different view of our city and the Ohio river.

The Belvedere has been available for Louisville for several years but with the expansion of the Waterfront it also feels a bit forgotten, at least by my crew, unless there's an event there. While staying at the Galt House over a weekend we noticed the waterfall and steps leading up to the Belvedere. It's a large space with a view of the river and bridges, plus the statue of York. I also loved the large "elephant ear" plants near the statue. Not a lot of shade or seating along the Belvedere. It's often a pass through to appreciate the view and snap a few pictures. I shot a few pictures of where the WorldFest holds its annual event. The waterfall is a lot of fun too. My kids like to leap the rocks, and after they did it another family followed. Lots of smiles.

Originally, I wasn't going to review this space. I usually don't review small park areas. But I'll explain why I decided to review this venue shortly. This is probably what's best described as an "urban oasis." Lot of noise from street traffic, overhead airport traffic, and even river traffic. But the noise isn't so bad that you can't carry on a conversation. It is nice watching barges and boats go by. There are many places to sit, including benches and stone wall seating. It's right next to the Galt House, which when operating normally has pretty gardens and fountains. The main reason I wanted to advocate for this place is the statue of York. I know that when I was in school, I was never taught about the strong, skilled black frontiersman who accompanied the Lewis and Clark expedition. And apparently York was a huge contributor and the first African American to cross America to tech the Pacific. The sculpture of York placed in this area is impressive and worth your time, if nothing else.

I love Belvedere Riverfront Plaza! I have an office downtown, and I've worked in the area for years, and this is a great spot to walk. I really enjoy walking around downtown when the weather is nice, and down around the waterfront, and The Belvedere is the perfect spot to take in the views. It's an elevated area, overlooking the river, so you can really take in the water and Waterfront Park. So, if you're looking for a spot to walk around in the area, this is a great one! There are also numerous events held in this area throughout the year, and they're always great. Specifically I've attended World Fest and Kentucky Derby Festivals events here many times, as well as Pride festivities, and they're always great! So, if you're looking into attending an event in the area, I definitely recommend it!

A sort of urban oasis. The plaza is just off of Main Street next to the Kentucky Center. It boasts some wide open green space in the heart of downtown, with some decent areas to it and enjoy a coffee or a mid-day meal. You can see over the highway to get a nice view of the Ohio River and over to Indiana. There is also a good view of the Muhammad Ali Center and the design on the side of it. The primary use of the Belvedere seems to be as a festival grounds for annual events like World Fest and Pride. It is a pretty perfect place for a mid-sized event like those, with well delineated areas, space for a stage or two, as well as access to ample parking.I routinely walk here during my lunch at work, as I work downtown. I only wish I was a little closer to it so I could eat lunch outside more often, in nice weather.

It's a nice green space!People walk around or sit here during lunchtime on weekdays. There's a fountain here and a nice view of the bridges and river. They host events here too, like World Fest. The location is prime! It's right in the heart of downtown and close to tons of parking.
