Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar

We came here on a Saturday night for dinner. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our party of four to be seated. It was a little busy. Even once we were seated the server was telling us that the kitchen was a bit backed up so that is why our food was taking a little longer. Our waitress was nice and friendly. She gave us honest opinions about the items on the menu, which is always great to have. We ordered the Meggie's Bread Sticks with Cheese as our appetizer. It was delicious, especially with the added cheese. It came with some red sauce stuff to dip the bread sticks in. The pizza we got was the 14 inch Gladiator. It had 6 slices. It was good, but a bit messy (and hot when it first came out). At the end we ordered the Backyard Hay Stack (minus the nuts). That was really good as well and we devoured it. The ambience was good. It was a little loud, however it was crowded. There was a little astronaut theme going on here. I recommend coming to Backyard Pizza.

The brick oven pizza was delicious, loved the crust. Typical small town set-up - order your pizza at the counter. Nice cozy atmosphere.

Backyard never disappoints! I met some friends with my little one for brunch since I had never gone. Service and atmosphere were as I remember and food was still good. My brunch was solid but I think I'd stick to their pizzas in the future.

Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar is awesome! The pizzas are top-notch with crispy crusts, fresh toppings, and tons of flavor. The chill vibe makes it perfect for hanging out, and the service is friendly and quick. Plus, the draft list is amazing--great craft beers to go with your meal. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!

Quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had (and as a former fat kid, I've eaten A LOT of pizza)!!! I'm staying in Ashland for business and have been really craving pizza. Everyone knows that any good college town has at least a few good pizza places since college kids pretty much live on pizza (I know that I sure did), so I made the drive to Huntington to give Backyard Pizza a try.Backyard Pizza is settled in the heart of downtown Huntington, just a few miles from Marshall University's campus. Behind their unassuming store front lies a staff welcoming you at the door and pizza so good, I would have waited an hour or more if they were crazy busy. My waitress, Nadia, met me promptly and with a smile as soon as I sat down at the table...she was super friendly, attentive, and willing to answer any questions about the menu (because they have A LOT of options). I ordered the lobster sticks appetizer and the 10-inch Jamaican pizza (check out the pictures...and yes, they were both as good as they looked).I don't know how I can describe the lobster sticks and do them justice...you'll just have to try them for yourself. The Jamaican pizza was great (I got it without onions)...but I would have liked to have more zing in the jerk spice on the chicken instead of the sauce drizzled on the pizza. Regardless, of my personal preference...the pizza was fantastic!I know one thing, I will definitely go out of my way to stop here if I'm anywhere close to this part of Kentucky and West Virginia ever again. The food and service was great, and there are still so many more things I want to try off their menu!

The food at Backyard Pizza is consistently delicious, but what truly elevates the experience is the inviting ambiance and exceptional service. We highly encourage you to visit any day of the week. The menu is diverse and engaging, the pizzas are reminiscent of those found in bustling city eateries, and the drinks and desserts are equally delightful.

Almost forgot to take a picture because I was so excited to dig in! This place has a gluten free cauliflower crust option and vegan cheese so you can make substitutions on most all pizzas. Avocado on pizza wasn't my favorite but the rest of the pizza was great and I've never had anything from here I was disappointed with. Service has always been perfect. I love the vibe inside and bar seating is comfortable which isn't always the case in most places.

Food was great as well as service!! Pizza and wings were delicious!! Would definitely recommend!! Great atmosphere!! Queso dip, Pizza and wings was amazing!!

Between backyard atThis location and Backyard at Ashland Ky please give Ashland a try - if we would have went to this location first we would have never went back -hadA rude waiter and wants to charge for everything and anything including the fly on the wall - we actually have dined at the one at Ashland KY many times and walkedIn this one sat down and by the time the waiter came and "tried to take our order " weDecided this was like a completely different establishment- so couldn't tellYa if the food was good but can tell ya the server did not wanna be there and thereforeNeither did we - but honestly give Ashland ky location a try,They have always been awesome!!

The best pizza crust!! Domed wood fired pizzas are the best around. Fun environment as well
