Artys Wood Fired Pizza

Love the pizza and "mom" and the staff always treat me right! Her banana bread and buckeyes are an awesome treat -if she has any available...

As a recent transplant to the eastern Kentucky area I can attest this area is a bit of food desert in terms of restaurants. One could argue this fact makes this place stick out more. But I'll be honest....nope; this place is awesome regardless. This was recommended by a friend so my wife and I drove 90 minutes to check it out. If anything about this place was mediocre the drive would have exacerbated that. My first impression from the parking lot was that it was underwhelming. That reminds me; "whelm" is an actual word that means to submerge or bury. Anyways, we walked in and were immediately smacked in the face with southern hospitality and the scent of wood fire and good cooking. The owner and employees made us feel right at home and gently directed us how things work. Pop and beer are in the wall in color you fetch yourself. Bathroom is behind the kitchen and they'll get you a menu shortly. Sit where you want. We each had a 12" pizza (peep the pictures) which we quickly whelmed into (see what I did there?). Before the rush happened, and it happened, the owner sat down with us and chatted. He asked us about ourselves, told us about himself and it was a genuine moment. The 90 minute drive is a bit much for frequent visits but this place will become a regular stop for us.

What a gem. Total surprise, but don't judge this book by its cover.Super friendly staff, and most importantly, great pizza. We had the cheese bread and the beast pizza. They insisted we take pics with the wood fired oven, and then we ate and ate.Don't make it through here much, but you can be sure I'll stop here again the next time I do!

Best pizza I've ever eaten in my life and I've traveled all over America. Don't let the look of the building fool you! It looks like a dive but it's clean and there's a small dine in area inside. Get the cheese bread and the homemade garlic butter to dip them in. It's carb heaven. The owner is a great guy too.

Ordered a meat lovers pizza and a salad last night for delivery and I will say it was definitely a good pizza and great salad!! I was at the small truck stop there in Vanceburg and the delivery was fast ! If your a local and haven't tried this place I highly suggest you do!!

Surprise find. Not much to look at but worth stopping. Great salad. Pizza (The Meat) really hit the spot. Wood fired pizza out here....wow. Make a stop. Order a pie. Staple a single. Enjoy

Wood fire oven pizza, but that's not the best thing on the menu in my opinion The salads and the breadsticks are the best on the menu. They have changed their sandwiches a few times so I am not sure how they are now but they was great last time I ate there.

The pizza and bread sticks were great. The staff is very friendly. The grandkids signed a dollar bill to put on the wall. If you're traveling through the area it's definitely with a stop.

Warm welcoming friendly staff, delicious aromas of a pizzeria. I ordered a chef salad & large Beano's pizza with bell peppers, mushroom, onion , tomatoe, ham & pepperoni. I'm excited to try the foods.
