Arthur K Draut Park

Beautiful and scenic walking/nature park located in st Mathews are of Louisville just behind the st Mathews mall. This place is a very small and easy walking trail that has beautiful scenery, cool bridges, awesome photo ops and we seen some really beautiful wildlife birds. We seen a bunch of ducks with there babies, some larger bird I've never seen before, some Cardinals and some blue jays. I've lived In Louisville my whole life and I'm not sure I've seen this much variety of birds in a public area as I did today at this park.The hanging gardens type setup with stone benches is breathtaking and a guaranteed popular spot for photos. The whole trail has to be well under a half mile and is all flat so very easy and peaceful walk for all people and types. I'm very glad I visited this place. Was very refreshing and nice experience on a pretty day. I came today with my wife and my youngest daughter who is only 1. I'll absolutely come back and check this place out with my other 3 as I know they will love it and it does have a bunch of open fields to run and around and blow off some steam. Overall a wonderful park and I highly recommend checking It out if it is a nice day and you are in or newer the st Mathews Area.

What a hidden gem!This is (by far) my favorite park in Louisville. It's not well known and therefore, never crowded. They massive Wildflower fields encourage pollinators and you will always find unique species. In addition, a greater amount of wildlife compared to Senecca or Cherokee.The space feels undisturbed by modern life - as most of the views keep modern life out (outside of a few spots where you may view nearby apartments).Not to mention, the blooming Wisteria in the Spring and Trumpet Vine in the Summer are a showy must!Also, I'm all about hidden trails and pockets and this space has hidden spot to stargaze in the eve or picnic during the dog (off the beaten path).Brava!!!

This is a great park that I visited from recommendation from my buddy. So when I was in the area last week I hit up this park and I saw immediately the cool looking horse statue that they have right at the beginning of it. This place is filled with many cool walking trail sites photo ops just all kinds of neat things to see and check out. I love visiting different parks in nature trails and things like that so this is for sure one of the cool places to see walk around look at the water look at all the neat sculptures different things I have so this is a excellent place to visit

Tucked away behind Mall St. Matthews and the "Trader Joe's Plaza," Arthur K Draut Park is no-frills but has a certain serenity to it. Given the lack of a playground, splash pads or even a picnic area, this shouldn't be your first pick for an outing with the kids, but adults seeking peace will certainly find it. This is a park for quiet, scenic strolls and is very good for what it is. Ol' Arthur used to have a glaring litter problem, but this park has been cleaned up a LOT recently. It's a night-and-day difference and elevates the park from 3 stars to 4. This park is also notable for being one of Louisville's safest options for some evening fresh air.

It was the most perfect fall day and I *needed* some outside time.I had driven past the Arthur K Draut Park several times, and even more often recently when on my way to or home from pilates. On this day, my class wasn't until 6:30, so I had some time to kill. And I decided to spend it at this park.It is a sweet, small park. Like the other reviewer called it, a kind of green oasis next to some apartment complexes, car dealerships and the malls. It is not huge. It has a small parking lot, and a paved loop with bridges to cross over Beargrass Creek, that is around 3/4 of a mile. The loop is accessible. The back part of the park backs up to the apartment complexes nearby. The trail is mostly flat and would be great for a training run (it would be better it was a full mile...). I saw many people running and walking and trotting along with their pets. It was quiet and peaceful. Even though it is right on the road at Bowling Boulevard, once you get into the park, the trees drown out the sounds of the road. It is a great place for a little meander, particularly if you are already in the area. There are no facilities (toilets) or playgrounds, just some benches along the path for a sit down or two. Because of that, I think it isn't as busy. I will probably be back, at least in the next few months as I continue a fitness membership nearby, to get some steps in and just be outside for a bit before moving on to my indoor classes. If you live or work in the area, you shouldn't pass up this park.

This park is practically a diamond in the rough! I've lived so close to this area and just now discovered its beauty. At first I didn't think this park would be that big, just since it is right in the middle of so many apartment complexes. However, it surprised me with how much there was to see here and how great of a walk I got in! There are multiple walking paths, some that will take you to open fields, some to creeks, and even one that leads you to the sidewalk by the road. There's also this really nice archway at the entrance that is covered with leaves, and is really beautiful. Great park to do some explorin'.

I so enjoyed time spent in this small, intimate park today. It is just the right size for a short walk to spend time in nature and relax. It has paved paths throughout, that are perfect for walking or jogging, but also plenty of areas to veer off into grassy areas that are perfect spots for picnics. There are benches galore to stop and rest and enjoy the scenery. Despite being right off Bowling Boulevard, surprisingly there was no road noise. The park is situated around a large creek, and the paths wind around in several loops with bridges over the creek. Right past the entrance to the park is a large pergola that is covered in wisteria vines. I can't wait to come back in the spring when the wisteria is in bloom! There is small, paved parking lot at the entrance to the park, which is marked with a sign, a large horse and a beautiful standing clock. I highly recommend this park for a very peaceful walk and time for relaxation.

This is one of the nicest public parks that I have been to! There are about ten parking places at the entrance off of Bowling, and they are almost always open when I drive by daily. One of the horse status and a large, pretty clock mark the entrance. It is free to enter the park, and it is very well maintained. At this entrance there is a large terrace with overhanging vines and cute benches for a romantic moment. There are benches every ten to twenty feet for taking a rest or taking it in. The bridge across the creek about fifty yards in is my favorite photo op location (as my dogs demonstrate). The only thing is, I would not walk this park at night nor alone because there are a lot of potential hiding spots in dark corners and around curves (and we all have to be mindful of these things). My dogs and I had a great time during the day, though, and I recommend checking it out!

This place is a cool oasis right in the middle of the congest city of St Matthews. It's a piece of green carved out in ways both natural and contemporary. Pathways follow the winding Beargrass Creek one moment and than rise above swampy wetlands via steel grating that angles around like something out of an abstract art painting.It's a small park, but it has all sorts of places to hideaway. Come here to walk, jog, meditate, relax or picnic. Do not come here to bike, hike or look for a playground.
