I've been here before for PIXY early last year, and everything was great!! The event went smoothly, everyone was super nice, I had a great time!! However, when I went tonight for VIVIZ, it was different. I don't fully blame the venue because they sincerely did their best, but it was kind of rancid towards the end of the night. Me and my friend had VIP so after the show, we qualified to do Hi-Touch and then a group photo. They crowded us in a room in rows, however they began to push some people out of the room because there wasn't enough space in the room for everyone to go at the same time. That's fine, there were a lot of people so that's expected. However, when Hi-Touch began, the lady (black hair in a bun) acting as security was very rude. She gave us no directions on where to go or what to do, and when we sat there confused she began to yell at us "Go!! Keep the line moving!!" Before my turn, they hadn't mentioned that we couldn't film the Hi-Touch, so I figured I'd point my camera at my face while I walked by. However, when I got up there, a black man in dreads yelled, "Point the camera the other way!!" And then as I passed he went "God dang.." I apologized because I was unaware that we couldn't film, but it was just so shocking because last time everyone was so nice. There were some nice people, the lady who checked us in was super super sweet, the merch lady was very nice, so were the people serving drinks!! However the rest of security was just very sour. I'm unsure if these are your security or the group's security, but I felt I should make you aware of this incident since I wasn't the only one they were rude to. I had so much fun and will continue to come back regardless of this experience !!

Such a beautiful space. It is small and intimate. Good for receptions, art shows, or whatever you think you can use the space. You can have many things there and it can be set up however you want. I was there for a play and it was set up so nicely. With chairs, I think I can hold about 70 chairs maybe a little more. I've been there for another event but there were no chairs. It's a very beautiful and nice space. If I needed a place for an event, I would try this place. Very community oriented and in an great area. Parking is only on the street but seems to be a long street.

We saw the "unofficial" kickoff to Derby season here - "Alice in Derbyland." It was so much fun. The Art Sanctuary is a great venue to see awesome shows like this. It's big enough to fit a ton of people and the people working the bar are always fast and friendly. We've also been here for a neighborhood meeting and had a great experience being hosted in this space for that as well.

Everyone is so open, friendly and accepting! The bartenders are amazing ! I've only been here for the Va Va Vixens, but it's such a beautiful venue. Parking is on the street so get there early if you suck at parallel parking like I do

Solid event space. I've attended several events here and it does well for shows and craft shows. My main complaint is that for general admission events, it can be very difficult to see the performance if you aren't up front. All the chairs sit on the same level and the stage isn't very tall. I am fully aware that since it's a multi use space that this issue would be difficult to address but it's important to know if you are short. I couldn't see anything that was below waist level or to the far right of the stage.

I stopped in for the first time during the open studio weekend.I live very close by, and am routinely kept awake at nights when they host events featuring DJs late in to the night/early in to the morning. As an oft-annoyed neighbor, I figured I should at least pay them a visit and see inside the place that disrupts my sleep. That said, of course visiting the gallery and studios, I am not seeing the things that are responsible for my lost sleep...that is from events and parties hosted in the front event space! The gallery takes up probably the back 1/3 of the ground floor of the building, and the artists studios are on the second floor.During my visit, the main exhibit in the gallery was from a 3-D artist. Very colorful and eye-catching. The gallery is an open warehouse space, surprisingly harsh lighting for an exhibition venue. The art areas of the Art Sanctuary are...rough. Very much like things that are making the most of a found space. The stairs aren't the most level, and neither are the floors. But the artists and staff who were there during the open studio event were friendly and welcoming, eager to talk about their work and upcoming shows. There was a rehearsal happening in the event space that occupies the front 2/3 of the ground floor. I have yet to be able to see that portion of the Art Sanctuary or to attend an event/performance there. It all just sort of feels half-done/unfinished. Which, for an artist's space is not the most terrible thing.

Art Sanctuary is a great event venue! We recently hosted a fundraiser here, and the space was perfect. The employees were also very helpful and made sure everything for our event was great! If you're looking for an event space, Art Sanctuary is a great spot! Also, for the size of the space, the rental fee is very reasonable. Plus, the gallery is great, and everything displayed in the space is really interesting and cool.

Art Sanctuary is a large in-door holiday flea-off market where they have a wide variety of artists, crafts persons, and vendors hawking their wares. I went on a cold and rainy Sunday and it was the perfect way to spend some time doing something without exposing myself to the great outdoors. The event is held in a large warehouse in Germantown near the Germantown Mill Lofts. Parking can be a bit of issue, so be prepared to walk a few blocks. You can buy homemade candles, jewelry, soap, ceramics, artwork and so much more. It's kind of an adventure just seeing what there is, and if you buy something you will most likely not only have something really unique, but you will also be supporting our hardworking local artists and artisans.

Super cool venue for creative people. The space is run by artists, not big business, so it has an original style, not a cookie cutter, corporate feel like so many places these days. It's a non-profit and a community space, so the events vary depending on who is having the event. The space is not a flea market as mentioned by others. It's simply the building the flea market was held in. The space changes according to event specifics.

The Holiday Flea Off Market brings me to Art Sanctuary every year. This is not my favorite flea off market. The Art Sanctuary is not the best locale for this. The lighting isn't great, it feels really dark in this location and the acoustics make things sound weird. The fact the lighting is not good makes it hard to enjoy the vendors in this space. To top it off, its hard to find parking around this space. This is not my favorite location.
