Apollo Pizza & Beer Emporium

We just moved here from 30 min outside of Chicago where there are many, many pizza places everywhere. So the bar was set high for the pizza!Apollo Pizza delivered one of the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. It was cracker-like, crispy thin, with a good amount of Hawaiian toppings and some gooey cheese which was browned on the edges (which I love).The only downside was we both felt the sauce was a bit lacking, which made it sort of dry overall. Next time we'd get extra sauce and I bet this would be a five star review. We did try to order some side salads and they were out of lettuce mix, so went with tater tots instead. The tots were hot, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. 5 points for the tots. And just noticed they still charged me for the salads, so I'll have to call them!! Our choices from their 18 beer listings were a caramel apple cider which was to die for and Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald which had a hint of coffee that hubby didn't like.Our server was very friendly and very fast at anything we needed.We will definitely go back again! I gave five stars because even with the lacking sauce and the oversight on the overcharge, the food and service was just outstanding.

We stopped in last night for dinner and drinks. Started off with the Bumps & Beer Cheese. The bumps were hot and fresh and the beer cheese was spicy, just the way we like it.For dinner we had the thin crust Carnivore pizza and added banana peppers. Their thin crust is super thin, almost cracker style. It was one of the best pizzas we have eaten at Apollo.Our waitress checked on us frequently and was very friendly.It was not crowded when we got there around 6, but by the time we left, it was picking up a bit.Apollo is a classic pizza joint with sports on the TV's and great music playing in the background. Take time to check out some of their cool wall art and concert posters.I still gave them 5 stars for the food quality, but knocked off one star for the reasons below.They have 18 beers on tap, but still lacked some variety. There were a lot of sours and ciders. About 6 out of the 18.There was no Parmesan on the tables. We had to get one of the waiters to track some down for us after our pizza arrived.

Great pizza place. I've heard from several past eku students this place was a must try and the pizza did not disappoint. The service was very friendly and quick on the day we went. Restaurant is in a older building and has a dive feel to it but was very cleaned and looked maintained well for its age.

Came in for a quick lunch. Knew I wanted a Satriale / Italian sub and some tater tots so I called ahead. I sat down after a ten minute drive. My food arrived around three minutes later. This place is from appetizers, to sides, subs, and pizza! If you're a health conscious, probably not the place for you. If you want a damn good food, bring ya azz!

Their pizza was amazing -great waitress, very focused on customer service, can't wait til they go into the collaboration with blue stallion!

I was in town for the night and a friend told me to check this place out. I doordashed this restaurant. I got the Bumps and Beer cheese and the build you own pizza. The pizza was great. The beer cheese wasn't what I thought it would be.

My favorite nostalgic pizza restaurant in Richmond. Walking distance to campus, perfectly located in downtown Richmond and just overall convenient. Patio, bar and booth seating available for all preference's. The pizza is fantastic and portions for all occasions; ie: the Wagon Wheel. Highly Recommend the overall experience.

Best pizza in town we love the food and the banana peppers are the best !We have been looking for a new pizza place and we have never been disappointed. Great place

This is the best local pizza place in Richmond. The appetizers are great and the pizza is delicious. The staff is always great and the restaurant is always clean and a great place to get great food with friends!

Once again warning anyone looking into going here to not do so. I want nothing more than the downfall of this business. They had a roach infestation, and I think there are still roaches left behind of it. Staff has changed, employee retention is horrible because they cannot train anyone right. Food quality has gone down as a result. Owner is, once again, delusional. Manager is worse.
