Angler's Cove Restaurant

The service and food was very good. Came out hot and fresh. Their spagetti was perfect and pizza was the best!

Hubby & I have stayed at this lodge twice in the past 5 months so we've eaten at the restaurant numerous times. The ambiance is clean & typical of a lodge. The service is polite & very good. Everything I've ordered has been amazing. The club sandwich was huge, delicious & filling. The catfish tastes fresh & is so good. The burger was quite good as were the fries, onion rings & fried okra. My favorite is the quesadilla with grilled chicken. It was enough for 2 meals & so scrumptious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We were there when it was buffet only. A large selection. Scrumptious shredded beef. Catfish and much more. Clean facilities and good friendly service.

October 2020 - Friday night we ate indoors due to a lack of patio seating. The tables are socially distanced, and the staff wears masks and gloves. The paper menus are disposed after use, beverages are served in disposable cups, and we felt safe enough.Hubby had spaghetti with a side salad and I had the all-you-can-eat fried catfish with coleslaw and steamed seasonal vegetables. Both of us enjoyed our meals. The next morning we ordered breakfast using take out, and ate in our room at the lodge. The portions were generous and filling.For lunch we returned to the dining room where I had a BLT, Hubby had a burger, and we each split our respective orders of fries and onion rings. The servers at each meal were friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed eating each of our meals.

I had dinner at Angler's Cove Restaurant Friday night while staying at the Jesse Stewart Greenbo State Park Lodge. I was joined by my sister and a close friend and her boyfriend. We all went for the buffet at $14.99 each. There was so much to choose from such as meatloaf, catfish, pork loin and beef tips for main entrees. Many sides to choose from such as corn, green beans, potatoes, and broccoli casserole. There was even a salad bar. And most importantly a dessert bar!The food was very flavorful, even though some items were a little too salty for my taste. The catfish was amazing! And I really liked the meatloaf as well. If you like down home country food this is the place for you. I had the hot banana pudding for dessert. I was kind of thrown off by the name as I've never heard of it, however it was delicious!It gets really packed for dinner and they close at 8 PM. I suggest showing up around 6 PM, to avoid the rush. Saturdays and Sundays are their busiest.

Catfish, Catfish, Catfish! Need I say more?! This place is a diamond in the rough. Take your girl on a date or take your whole family on a retreat! Stay at the lodge and morning noon and night haha :)

We were camping on the grounds and as a planner, I had already looked up Angler's Cove; I was really looking forward to the Sunday brunch but that damn Covid-19 took away the buffet :( We made pizza on the grill one evening and fries sounded great. It was hard to find the number to the restaurant as menus only list an extension (for those staying in the lodge) I found the number and placed an order for fries......starving, I asked, "about how big is the onion ring order?" Aprox. 8 onion rings, a couple small; most large. Figuring I had ordered too much food I did the usual thing I always do and ordered both the fries and rings. Long story short, but the fries and the onion rings fit in one small container- holding about 10 fries and 4 small onion rings. (I counted lol) I went with 2 stars because while the hand full of junk food was tiny, it did taste ok and I was charged $5. We will be back to the campground again.....just not sure I'll order fries.

Love the fish! Love the lodge! So proud it is in Greenup county!!! It isn't always perfect but always find something that makes it worth while! My one suggestion would be to do less buffet and more made to order food! That way they will for sure serve fresh food. But I will say, the staff is so kind!
