Alltech Arena

The annual Alltech Celebration of Some Ng held at the Alltech Arena on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park was a wonderful holiday event. Free to the general public, it is a lovely way to spend an afternoon during the season. Splendid voices and glorious music. You will have to wait until next year to experience this musical delight, but make a plan for next year.123

I've been to to Alltech Arena a few times, for ticketed events like the Holly Day Market, Boots in the Bluegrass, and a rodeo. There isn't anything really not to like about it. It's a modern arena that was built before the World Equestrian Games and I'm pretty sure that was the main purpose for it.It's located inside of the Kentucky Horse Park. You pull into the first entrance, not the campground or the same entrance that you use for Southern Lights. Stay to the left and you will find the arena toward the back of the beautiful park. Parking is always readily available in front of the arena. You have to walk up a flight of steps in order to enter the main entrance, so if you have mobility issues, you will want to scope out a different entrance.

We went for the National Horse Show and it was a nice venue. Clean and well run, seating was comfortable enough for this sort of venue. The view from all seats would seem to be good.

Alltech Arena is in the back part of the Kentucky Horse Park. It is a great indoor venue for horse shows, basketball games, and concerts alike.Championship-size show ring enclosed with a concrete solid wall.Arena flooring is sand/loam mix, base is clay. Arena is suitable for basketball, concerts, circus, wrestling and tradeshows and conventions with flooring installed. Total permanent seating capacity is 5,512 with 222 VIP box seats available or an expanded floor seating up to 8,500.Nine (9) VIP Suites fully furnished including seating, wet bar, glass fronts and separate entrances:Full event concourse suitable for trade shows and/or vendors overlooking entire arena floor. There are six separate concession areas, two permanent box office locations, each with two separate ticket windows located at main entrance of arena, and an attached warm-up arena. The entire facility is fully climate-controlled with state of the art sound system through out.It is a lovely place to host an event. Check them out next time you are in or around the Kentucky Horse Park.

Great venue for concerts and livestock events. However, your alcohol sales lines are terrible. Not enough vendors and not enough sales counters. Waited in line for a beer for well over 30 minutes. We were there for the Bulls Bands and Barrels event and I missed the entire barrel racing portion of the show due to being in line. Ridiculous. And the sound for a concert sucks.
