Trying to find a new daycare in the middle of a global pandemic can be anxiety inducing, but we were so lucky to have found AAK! The staff here is wonderful, everyone knows our names, says hello and greets us with a friendly face. We love we can check on our son on the cameras in his room and even on the playground and get real-time updates and photos throughout the day from his teachers via the Kid Reports app. He is in great care with his teachers and loves going each day to play, go outside and do learning activities. While not the least expensive center in Lexington, I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and high quality care for your child is worth it.

Our daughter loves AAK. All the teachers are kind and patient. We've always had clear communication and the cameras in the room are an added plus. Having our daughter here has been a great experience and I truly feel that she is in the best hands when she goes to "school" everyday.

My daughter has been with AAK for an year now, It was a positive experience for the first 6 months, for the last 6 months care has been deteriorating- it is understaffed perennially, very seldom -may be once a week I see updates of learning activities , when I pick her up she is always shabby, they never clean her nose, in some of the rooms there were fruit flies all over the sippy cups but they are very consistent on increasing the rate for what they claim is high quality care, will not recommend this to friends or family .

Just wanting to spread my unfortunate experience with All about Kids Daycare owned by Stephanie and Josh Tarter. I'm sorry it's long. I really advise you read it all.My experience with All about Kids started out amazing. My child loved going to daycare. She loved her teachers. I just wanted to share my honest experience from the other week. My child had to be picked up from daycare Thursday due to being sick. She went to the doctor. Doctor said she was fine. She returned to daycare Friday without any issues. Tuesday comes around. I drop her off at 10:40 after spending the morning with her before having to take my dog up to Louisville to get her pace maker checked out. When Lisa originally called me I was on the phone trying to deal with a debat collector so I had asked Lisa if I could please call her right back I was busy at the moment. She said well this will only take a minute,"Hayden is running a fever and needs to be picked up." I told Lisa at that point I will call her right back, as I told her I was busy. I am on the interstate almost to Louisville, I called Lisa back. No answer. I waited a minute or so and called about, Hayden's teacher answered, she said Lisa would call me back she must be in the back busy. So Lisa calls me back Telling me my child's temperature was over 100 degrees and she had to be picked up within an hour. I tried to explain to Lisa that I was almost in Louisville and could not come get her until after my dogs appointment. So while I'm on the phone with her, she puts the phone down I assume and told Brittany," she said she isn't coming." So me and Lisa stay on the phone for a few minutes trying to come to a agreement, which we didn't. Her dad asked Lisa what is the punishment for breaking the policy as we could not clearly pick her up within the 1 hour policy rule. Which Lisa did not have a response so we ended the conversation and I continued to Louisville. Close to 1 o'clock I get a call from Brittany saying I'm a very rude and unprofessional manner that made me feel highly disrespected that I needed to pick my child up right now or she was going to have to take action and call my emergency list. Which she did but everyone was working and couldn't get off work to get Hayden. She also was judgemental on who I had on my list as one of her grandparents doesn't have a license but has a ride, if she could've left work. Told me if she doesn't have a license she shouldn't be on the pickup list. Brittany told me I had to turn around and come pick up Hayden. At that point I was pulling up to the vet. I told I could not turn around and even if I did there was no way I could make it there within 1 hour. Where she continued in a unprofessional manner to explain to me the policy of All about Kids. She was telling me the policy said 30-1 hour pick up time. She told me any temperature over 100.4 has to be removed from daycare. I tried asking her what policy she was referring too as the policy I was looking at , the policy I had signed. States:The health of all the children that attend our center is extremely important to us. For this reason,if a child displays any of the following health symptoms a parent will be notified and the child mustbe picked up within one hour. During this time the child will be monitored in the First Aid Room bya staff member until the parent arrives to pick up the child. The symptoms that require a child's dismissal are as follows:* Temperature of at least 100F when in combination with any other sign or symptom of illness.* Diarrhea (three or more abnormally loose stools within a twenty-four-hour period)* Severe coughing, causing the child to become red or blue in the face or make a whoopingsound* Difficult or rapid breathing* Yellowish skin or eyes* Redness of the eye or eyelid, thick and purulent (pus) discharge, matted eyelashes, burning, itching or eye pain.* Untreated infected skin patches, unusual spots or rashes* Unusually dark urine and/or gray or white stool* Stiff neck with an elevated temperature* Evidence of untreated lice, scabies, or other parasitic infestations* Sore throat or difficulty swallowing* Vomiting more than one time or when accompanied by any other sign or symptom of illnessAny child demonstrating signs of illness not listed above will be isolated in the first aid room andcarefully observed for symptoms. The parent will be notified. If the child does not feel wellenough to participate in center activities the parent will be called to pick-up the child. Any time achild is isolated they will be kept in sight and hearing of a staff member. The bed and any linensused will be washed and disinfected before used again. So as you can see I was a tad confused and upset because the policy says."Temperature of at least 100F when in combination with any other sign or symptom of illness. " which my child was not showing any of symptoms. I tried mentioning this to Brittany and the owner !
