Acapulco Mexican Grill

My last review for this place was mediocre at best and in it I stated how I felt this place used to be a lot better. Based on my most recent visit, either that last visit was an outlier or Acapulco is on the upswing again.The menu is standard but there are some goodies to be found and from what I can tell they do the standards well. The salsa is solid and if you're not a cilantro fan it doesn't taste as if that's present. The house-made hot sauce is delicious though--order some and mix it in with the salsa to give it a kick or if you like it really spicy, try it straight.I had the carnitas this time around and they were delicious--slow cooked, flavorful, juicy, simple and straightforward. They served them with fresh soft tortillas so I was able to assemble 3 tacos with fresh pork, guacamole (served on the platter), fresh tomatoes, and some of that house hot sauce. I also added a tamale on the side to see how they did those, and it was a larger tamale than expected but very good and slathered in red sauce AND queso.My dining partner had a very complicated and picky order and they handled her requests perfectly.The service was super-friendly--fast, kind, efficient. They checked on us often (but not overbearingly) and even provided freebies!I mentioned last time it felt like it could use a clean-up and some lighting--this time around, everything was well lit and clean, and the bathrooms were spotless. While I didn't partake, I noticed the happy-hour sign on the way to he rest room and it's ridiculously cheap ($3 mugs of import beer, 2 for 1 margaritas, $4 tequila sunrise, etc.).

From greeting to seating to eating - everything was great! We love Acapulco!Margaritas, paella, pollo loco, chunky quac are several of our favorites.

This place makes their food perfect every time. We love the fajitas! The chips and cheese dip is amazing! They even have a drive through. I'm very happy they're in our small town.

You kind of wonder if someone died at this restaurant because everyone mopes around slump shouldered and barely speaks to even the customers. Also, my family and I waited 20 minutes and no one ever came to ask us our drink order even. We finally got the hint and went to the other Mexican restaurant in town.

We have been going here since they opened and have always had fabulous experiences. We moved away came home after 3 years and they still remembered us. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. Lunch menu can't be beat with a drink included all 5 of us ate for around $35 plus tip!

Ate here a few days ago. The food is okay. But I kept having to shoo away flys. Unless you like sharing your food with flies, I don't recommend.

Love the shredded beef taco combo! Best Mexican food in Madisonville in my opinion. Great chips & salsa too! Check out the Monday & Tuesday lunch specials if you want to save a buck.

They have good food but it is somewhat pricey. Service is pretty fast. Overall a good place to eat.

Save your money. This was our second visit, the first was about a month ago and the food was good enough for us to invite friends. Unfortunately, this visit was horrible. The beans and rice were cold. When we mentioned this the server took one plate and microwaved it so the beans were slightly warm and the rice was dry and warm.The server placed my taco salad in front of me and as I touched the sour cream with my finger he took the salad and gave it to the diner behind me.The ground beef was bland. Upon sharing my concern with the manager she seemed to have difficultyunderstanding English, looked very disinterested, and just left.When checking out the manager didn't speak to me or look at us.

Not a bad choice for mexican foodService was good but the quality of food was Fair You can find better restaurants that serve Mexican good
