Stopped in for lunch ~ noon on a Tuesday. There were only two other diners when we were seated. It's a small spot with about a dozen tables/booths. Wanted to check it out because of the positive reviews.I ordered the southwest chicken with green beans and tater tots and my friend ordered the club sandwich with Mac n cheese. The chicken was okay. It was a bit salty with the cheese and mushrooms. Tots were from a bag as are the fries (I saw them in the plastic). While dining, someone came in for pickup and they had obviously been there before and I heard them say they love the burgers. My friend's club had a thick cut of ham and he said he enjoyed the sandwich.Great service. The server was on top of the drinks and was friendly. One thing of note is they do pass the credit card fees to the customer. But, they let you know before you pay (instead of just adding it to the bill). This is a practice that many establishments have taken to that really runs me the wrong way.I give it a 3.5/5 for food. 5/5 for service and 3.5/5 for ambiance.

After a tour of Mammoth Cave we stopped in nearby Cave City for a bite on our way back to Georgetown, Kentucky. 5 Broke Girls has a very unassuming menu with sandwiches and various burger options. We had the Jessie Special and it was really special. A spicy burger on nicely buttered toast served with a side of tater tots. Steph took our order and told us some of the history of how some Texas girls ended up in Cave City, Kentucky. The restaurant is clean with both tables and booths to choose from and with Texas memorabilia displayed throughout the place. Food came out fast and was delicious. If you take in Mammoth Cave stop by here for a good old fashioned burger and a quart jar of iced tea.

WOW WOW WOW. Today we visited 5 broke girls for the first time. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress. She was attentive, friendly, and helpful! The inside dining area has 2 seating options; booths and tables. We had a party of 6, and we were comfortably seated at a table. There is only one restroom. The food is the best part. We ordered a Hart burger, southwest chicken, kids tenders, a kids grilled cheese, and cheese sticks (not pictured). The items came out quickly and hot. The burger was one of the bests I have had in a while. The kids chicken tenders are large enough for an adult to eat. The southwest chicken was cooked to perfection! If you are in the cave city area, I highly recommend stopping by and having a bite!

The waitress provided the nicest, most friendly, excellent service! This place is a hidden gem! We just happened to pass it after a visit to Mammoth Cave. It's small, but the food is excellent! The ambiance gives that hometown, local vibe! The special of the day was three tacos & they were huge! We had enough left over for a second meal! They reheated well too! The BLT was delicious, the kid's chicken strips were huge, & the fried catfish hit the spot! The burgers were the best though!!! They were eaten so quick I couldn't get a pic!

The staff are super friendly. The onion rings are amazing! Cute little local joint. The kitchen is rather small so be prepared to make yourself at home.

The reviews that talk about slow food service are accurate. My group of 3 came around noon and the 11 tables were full. The waitress did her best- she apologized upfront, letting us know there'd be a wait. I just didn't realize it would be over an hour and forty-five minutes.I have no idea what the deal with the griddle is, but while we were here, the dishes were coming out every 10 minutes or so (can't they cook more than one meal at a time? I can cook faster at home.)They did serve up free appetizers to the tables while everyone was waiting, so that helped. Some.Anyway, when the food was finally served, it was fine. Good, but definitely not worth the wait.I would only chance coming here again if I had definate time to kill.

This is unfortunate, but the people running this place are in way over their heads. The kitchen is clearly way too small or understaffed to serve the amount of people who are being sat in the dining room. We just sat with 3 kids for 1.5 hours waiting for food that never came. We asked them to box it to go and that's still not happening, despite them saying 20 mins ago "we swear it's coming out of the fryer right now." If the dining room looks full, be prepared to spend 1/2 day here. If you own this restaurant and are reading this: please reduce the amount of tables you think you can serve.
