Legno Chicago

Legno is a neighborhood gem! Whether it's take out or dine in, their food delivers well. Picked up spaghetti and veal meatballs with broccolini and bread and it was all still hot and fresh when we got home. Dined in and had the chicken piccata with a side of parm risotto and that was tasty! The Mac and cheese is like no other. Other items we enjoy here is the Cesar salad with chicken and diovolo pizza!

On this night we chose Legno for dinner and what a great choice! We have been to Legno's numerous times before, it's just right we review as one of my faves. The place is beautifully done, with dark woods and a warm decor. They have a very well stocked bar, great menu, a private event room and even their own microbrewery. As we walked in, we immediately heard the local artist singing some lovely tunes. It was so nice to be serenaded while enjoying a beautiful meal. The food was amazing as usual. Fresh and tasty high quality ingredients made every meal smooth and delightful. We ordered the Chicken Parm, Legno Mac n Cheese and the Barbecue ribs. The Chicken as well balanced and moist. The Mac was plentiful and full of flavor. The ribs were a full slab, ball off the bone and delicious. It came with home made potatoes fries. Simply delicious!I ordered a Flying Dog Gonzo to pair it all and chased that with some shared Crème Brûlée since we were full from the meal. Over all, we had a great meal, with a great serenade at a beautiful place. Highly recommend it and if you want music, come by on a Friday. See you here!

My family and I like coming here. Beautiful aesthetic. Great service. Great portions and flavor. This restaurant has outdoor seating and has a bar area and dine in area. Perfect for a date for family outing!

Food was just not that well. The meatball at its base is very bland. Burger was good but the sauces on top are conflicting. Potato's could be served with some cream of some sorts to break up all of the savory flavor

Kids took me here for Mother's Day I ordered avocado toast, and the plate vas not altered, except I lifted two over easy eggs to see where the avocados were! O pretty much needed a magnifying glass to find it! Maybe a 1/4 of an avocado on there . I mean, picture is worth a million bucks! I thought this was a prank, or hidden camera; for real! When I told waiters o actually ordered avocado toast, she looked at me and said; you don't like it? What's wrong with it!? I told her that's no avocado toast at all, she said; oh, it's a new thing on the menu! I was like; please tell them to take it off the menu asap. I'm still in shock. Even the rest of the veggies and fruits looked stale. I've ordered Mediterranean salad and that was a ok. We've been here many times, and always enjoyed it, but this last time it was kind of disappointing. Perhaps, under new management or new chef. No bueno!

This is our go to neighborhood place. The food is fantastic. Portions are large. Super tasty. Their specials are great. The bread is ultra fresh. Service is great - we have gotten to know many of their waiters who have been there several years. The space is bright and open. Not loud. Great beer and liquor selection.

Food was very good, came here for a party. Appetizers were refillable for parties, so very good deal. The calamari was very crispy. Entrees were not free refills for parties, but the pasta was very good. The restaurant has a dark wood theme to it. It is very modern and nice. Bathrooms are very clean. The staff was very accommodating to our party and would make lighthearted conversation with our guests. Overall, would come back here again!

Legno offers weeknight daily specials and a happy hour from 5-6pm. The red sangria included in the happy hour was great, sweet and fruity very refreshing! The charcuterie board appetizer came with a nice variety of cheeses, meats, and 4 huge pieces of garlic crostini. For entrees we had jumbo steak & shrimp, parmesan risotto, and the mista salad with chicken. The risotto was AMAZING. Super decadent, cheesey buttery and velvety. Highly recommend! The mista salad was fresh and the chicken breast on it was seasoned well/very juicy. The steak was a little bland, but the shrimp was excellent. The mashed potatoes were homemade from real potatoes and the grilled asparagus was also well seasoned. Service was also great! Melissa took excellent care of us and had great recommendations about the menu.

I absolutely love the lasagna at this restaurant! I haven't been there in years but whenever anyone asks me about where to find good lasagna I always recommend this place. It is a hidden gem.

Had the Fettucini Alfredo DELICIOUS with chicken and had the 8 finger vodka pasta. BOTH I THOUGHT WERE REALLY GOOD. Would definitely order either one of these pastas again. Overall positive experience also had some sangria that was tasty as well. only wishh teh serving sizes were slightly bigger so had more to bring home.
