Le Macaron French Pastries - Chapel Hill

Shop was clean and pretty. All of the macarons and desserts looked yummy.We got 3 macarons to go- as you can see in the picture she must have grabbed ones from back- the were nothing like the ones in the front of the case, they were small and uneven.The orange chocolate tasted mostly like chocolate.

Pricy, unimpressive desserts. While walking Franklin street we stopped here for a quick dessert. The store was open, bright, and welcoming. No customers were at the counter so we ordered right away. The display case was full of desserts that sounded delicious. We decided on 3 macarons. I wish I had ordered only one since the total came to over $9! Plus they were not uniform in size or quality. The two orange chocolate macarons we ordered were significantly different in size. The rose macaron was my favorite. It was pretty, texture was okay, and the rose flavor came through. The orange chocolate macaron surprisingly lacked flavor and did not look good. They were definitely not worth the price paid for them. Unfortunately I would not recommend going here for macarons, but perhaps the others desserts are better.

We got an iced coffee and two macarons here. I was very disappointed with the macarons. Ordered two flavors that would have completely different tastes (bubblegum and tiramisu), but blindfolded I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between them. They didn't really hold much flavor other than sugary, and didn't really do much to distinguish flavor other than being the correct color. I paid almost $6 for 2 of them, and although they look pretty and come in a nice box, I can't really justify the price for these. The iced coffee was nice though and I've heard good things about the gelato, but won't be back for the macarons.

Hubby and I stopped in one afternoon for coffee and pastry. The space was nice and uncrowded and played good music. A student came in for coffee and a table next to us to study. The coffee was good but they did not have any sugar (real sugar, not the fake stuff - Splenda). The server seemed unaffected by my pleas for the real stuff. The student agreed with me. We shared a Napoleon with our coffee. It was quite cold and the icing was a solid piece of sugar. After breaking our plastic fork, we had to remove the icing brick and break it in half with our hands. I added some to my coffee. ;) The Napoleon was tasty but not fresh. It was obvious that it had been frozen. The pastry layers were compressed by the freezing. If you want fresh pastry, this is not your place.

Wow!! These macarons are so delicious!! They had a deal going, buy 4 macarons and get a lemonade/coffee for free. The cold brew was super smooth with a slight chocolate flavor. The pistachio macaron was my favorite. The tiramisu was a close second but all of them were fantastic. I highly recommend paying this place a visit!

Came in just as they were closing but they never said a word...Had 3 chocolates, a macaron and a double scoop of gelato between us... it was practically gone before we crossed h the r street to our car. YUM!!!!! The black vanilla macaron was my favorite but the coconut choc chip gelato was amazing too. All good. Great service, we will be back.

Great assortment of French desserts, and don't forget the gelato! Overall, it's been always a pleasure going there!

We got a coffee eclair and a lemon meringue tart. They were good but not great. The tart shell was soggy, and the meringue was solid and tough. Flavor was pretty good though. Not a great selection of anything but macarons which is fine but that doesn't make it a patisserie. Realized after the fact that it's a chain which is too bad. If I'm around and in need of a sugar fix I might try it again, but there's so many other places in Chapel Hill that are amazing.

Great macarons and friendly service!

I have been coming here for a few months. Their coffee is divine. They r happy to make it per my request. Very yummy and customer service has always been professional and attentive.
