One of the first things that strikes you when you enter Lauter is the attention to detail. The lighting, colors and music are well balanced and relaxing. The music that was playing when I was there was vibey Courtney Barnett style pop. It is obvious that the same attention is applied to the food. I got the burger and half order of fries. Both delicious and layered perfectly with salt, sweet and sour flavors which were perfectly balance. And food was fresh and piping hot. What more can you ask? I hope they continue to do well. Though I had some water, the bar menu looked very appetizing as well.

Probably the best burger I've ever had. Heirloom tomatoes, butter lettuce and the burger had a wonderful wood smoke flavor. The craft beer sampler was awesome they do beer right! Limited menu did not include the chicken that night. I was informed they rotate every week

Dined in for lunch on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking and seating for my small group. We loved splitting some snacks (Crispy Potatoes and Truffle Parmesan Potato Chips) and enjoyed their Shared Plates. The space is bright and clean, and the staff were very nice. Would absolutely come back!

Lauter is Southern Grist's new restaurant arm and it's fantastic. I started off with a flight of Southern Grist's many beer options. From there we shared a few food items. The spicy chicken sandwhich and the bao buns were both fantastic.Service was good. Everything is done at the bar and they deliver the food. They also have a nice patio to be outdoors. Ambience was pleasant. Music on in the background but not too loud. Parking was decent.

So so good. A friend was I. Town at the Opryland so I was looking for somewhere local and good nearby. Stumbled on Lauter and daggum that's some good stuff. We ordered a burger and fried chicken with roasted potatoes to share. All were excellent but that's definitely one of the Nashville area's top 5 burgers, and Nashville is as much a burger town as any town. The peach margarita was delicious too. Not really margarita-ish, but I did enjoy it.

Loved this place! It was a bit tough to locate, but soooo worth it. Great vibe to the place, and super nice and sweet staff. We had the chicken sandwich with pimento cheese -- really outstanding; the burger with a side of mushroom gravy; tomato and corn salad; and roasted corn bowl. All were super delicious, especially the chicken sandwich and the burger. The mushroom gravy was not necessary with the burger, but it was so good on its own that we ate it surreptitiously separately. There were so many delicious and complimentary flavors going on with each dish, it was like the visual flavors effect from "Ratatouille." The crazy tasty beer flights we got rounded out things perfectly.

Super cool space inside as well as outdoor patio spaces. Plenty of on-site parking. Beer and cocktail menu was extensive and the quality of Southern Grist beer is the best in the area. Highly recommend starting with the Bao buns and potatoes!! Also really enjoyed the wings and sauce that accompanied them, but 3 wings was a very small portion for the price. Friendly staff and quick service!

I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place - it's a little difficult to find (the Lyft driver dropped us across the street and even though it was my friend who'd found the restaurant, I had to convince them this was the right place because I saw online that it was associated with Southern Grist). This was also a nice reprieve from the more touristy side of Nashville - it felt much more relaxed, it was easy to hold a conversation as it wasn't loud, and still maintained a trendy vibe. We dropped in during Happy Hour after a day out so we were happy to take advantage of the cocktails, which were superb. We shared the bao buns, the focaccia, the spicy crispy potatoes, and the fried chicken sandwich. The food is absolutely fabulous: honestly, the focaccia is one of the best I've had (and I don't always like focaccia, depending on how it's done) - it was light, fluffy, and flavorful. Bao buns were a nice balance of sweet and salty. The fried chicken sandwich was some of the best fried chicken we'd had in Nashville that trip! I have to admit the spicy crispy potatoes were INCREDIBLY spicy and I struggled to make a dent in them. Service was great; very communicative and informed us immediately when he found out the focaccia would take another 30 min (we were there in the late afternoon, so not quite dinner time) and offered alternatives when we decided we'd wait for the focaccia! Would definitely recommend this place and am honestly bummed I don't live in Nashville so I could frequent it.

I'm such a fan of this place. It's tucked away on Douglas by the railroad tracks inside of Southern Grist. Where else can you get an inventive sour beer with delicate, amazing ramen? They currently only have ramen specials on Tuesday, but if you're looking for a solid bowl and a nice beer to wash it down; I'd highly recommend this place.

Ok. If you don't like the food here, you don't like food. The. Crispy. Potatoes. The burger, the chicken Sammy, the Bao buns, the beer...when they do Ramen. Ever-y-thing is top shelf, every time we come to Lauter. Pity the fool who gives this gem less than 5 golden rings/stars. Lauter. Do it.
