We spontaneously stopped in on our last night in Boston after looking in the windows and seeing the charming atmosphere, appreciating that it was called The Last Hurrah. We were up for drinks and some appetizers, but the food options were very slim and seemed high priced for what they were so we just opted for drinks. I finally ordered the Pistacchio Martini I'd been seeing everywhere and it was delicious! My husband got an old fashioned.Overall, it was a nice stop for one cocktail with great people watching on the streets in Boston!

came here for the boston cream pie only;if that's what you're thinking -- i would say, don't. it was more than a bit dry, and not a great representation of the dessertprobably pretty rude of me to leave a review for the pie and not their drinks but they market it heavily + it makes lists online as something to try here so i imagine a lot of people reading reviews for this place is looking for this exact informationall that said, nice place, fun history and much nicer service. will likely not be back again but we really appreciated their hospitality and kindness!

Great spot when you are tired of walking all day and looking for some coming food and drinks. This bar is inside the OMNI Parker hotel. They have extensive martini menu which most customers tend to order at this bar. Food options are pretty good, covers all the Boston specials. Your best bet would be lobster roll and Boston cream pie. Wait staff, waiters and waitresses all are excellent and willing to help customers.

Came here to taste the original Boston Crème Pie. Didn't expect it to resemble cake as much as it did, but it was very good nevertheless. While this is the easiest way to taste the original, just realized that in a crowded bar, if you're just eating a dessert you're going to be a bit of an afterthought as far as service is concerned - but it's an easy way to get a taste if you don't want a full meal at the hotel itself.

Located in the historic Omni Parker House hotel, the Last Hurrah is an upscale whiskey bar that has an unmistakable inviting glow when you pass by it and its massive glass-paned windows facing the street.During a recent stay at the Omni Parker House, the original home of the Boston Cream Pie, I knew my visit wouldn't be complete without giving the local confectionary delight a try during my stay.During the weekend, the Last Hurrah was PACKED from the time it opened until the time it closed. I opted to visit on a Monday evening shortly before Christmas and found it to be a much smaller crowd. (I was able to actually get a table and/or seat at the bar the third time I tried)Service was great. I opted to have the Chicken Parmesan sandwich for my entree, which came with a side of house chips and a pickle. The sandwich was good - nothing to write home about as a trip highlight but if you're hungry it'll get the job done. For dessert, I of course went with the Boston Cream Pie and accompanying Boston Cream Pie martini. I gotta say - I agree with many of the other commenters that although the dessert may have gotten it start here, it definitely wasn't the best I've ever had. BUT that martini was what dessert cocktail dreams are made of. I loved the ambiance of the bar and would definitely be back to enjoy a cocktail or two at the beautiful wood bar.Fun Fact - I was told by a local tour guide that this bar was one of the stops where JFK and pals celebrated during his Bachelor Party - hence the name Last Hurrah.

I could not visit Boston without trying Boston Cream Pie, and what better place I thought than the place that claims to have invented it? When I initially read that the Omni Parker House Hotel's claim to fame was creation of the pie, I was a little confused since it was a hotel and wondered if you had to be a guest to try it. After some quick research, I found that Last Hurrah, the onsite bar, served it. Needless to say, I made my way over to the hotel for a little dessert. Last Hurrah is immediately to the left when you enter Omni Parker House. Like the hotel itself, the bar has an upscale aesthetic with lots of earth tones, woods, and high-end finishes. Theres' a variety of seating types available, including tables, lounge areas, and the bar. It was kinda busy when I arrived but was able to snag a seat at the bar and started to browse the menu. They had a decent variety of drinks and food - I decided on a drink and ordered the Boston Cream Pie. The drink was good - I had the Hemingway Special which was smooth and had good flavor. I was disappointed in the pie - the cake was dry, and the cream wasn't smooth - almost like it was split or something. I expected more from the place that claims to have invented the dessert - but like other instances, the original isn't always the best. Service was good, the bartender was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. Overall, I would come back to Last Hurrah for another drink and to try more of their food, but I would seek Boston Cream Pie elsewhere.

Nice bar inside the Omni hotel with large windows, perfect for people watching. While their food menu is small, the bartender was friendly and attentive, and made a great suggestion (flatbread). Harder for larger parties to get a table, which we were witness to. Also, they don't allow you to stand at the bar, if you are waiting for a seat. Not sure if that's a city thing or just in this bar.

TLDR: Boston Cream Pie: 4.5/5 Boston Cream Pie Martini: 4/5My friends came here looking for Boston Cream Pie(BCP) and we found it. Located in the Omni Parker House Hotel, the BCP was supposedly invented in this hotel.Despite how it looks, the BCP at Last Hurrah is surprisingly not too sweet. I would say it is the perfect amount of sweetness, sweet enough to be a dessert but not sweet enough to make you want to drink cups and cups of water to clean out your mouth....If you are expecting a dessert that will blow your mind and will make you dream about it for years to come, this is not it...but it is still a great dessert. The ambiance here is great, and the historic Omni Parker House is an interesting place to walk around after/before your meal at the Last Hurrah.
