Will satisfy your gyro cravings, but nothing to seek out.I've loved gyros since I was a kid, and will take every opportunity to grab one of these hand held meals whenever I can (especially with extra tzatziki and white onions, never lettuce). So when I noticed Yaya's Mediterranean food in the Famous Eats Food Hall inside Resort World, Las Vegas, I knew I needed to get a gyro before we left. I ordered a famous Gyro ($15.50) via a kiosk (charging it to the room), and went walking to the vendor to see my order was ready. It was ready pretty quickly (wasn't very busy), and had been wrapped nicely. It used a good, zesty tzatziki sauce, fresh tomato and the crumbled feta cheese (which I don't see on gyros much) did add a lot of flavor to the sandwich. The lettuce would have become a problem if the sandwich sat around too long, but because I ate it immediately, it was still crisp. But the two most important ingredients were not great. The pita wasn't good: it was crumbly and began to disintegrate as I ate...it should have been toasted or grilled. I would take a store bought pita that had been toasted over this. The beef/lamb meat was flavorful, but the consistency was mealy, more meatball like than meat like, and after a while, became hard to chew. I didn't see a spit anywhere, so guessing it was just frozen gyro meat provided by a food distributor. And for that quality, I thought the price (without any sides) was high.
