I went to Westgate to have dinner at Benihana Village for my birthday. I haven't been in the casino for a few years and I was expecting it to be a little run down. I was pleasantly surprised at how well kept the casino was. There also a lot more business than I was expecting as well. They had all the most recent and popular slot machines. Parking was free also. That is a real treat these days. Parking prices in Las Vegas have become ridiculous. I understand not wanting to give free parking to lookiloos but if you pay $50-100 a person for dinner you should be able to get your parking ticket validated. I also liked all the Elvis tributes. Elvis has been a big part of this hotels history since it used to be the Las Vegas Hilton. It means a lot more for me because we have the same birthday. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.

I live locally. Ostensibly, BARRY MANILOW was sold out and the only way to obtain tickets was to do a stay-cation at the WESTGATE. So that's what I did. I booked two stay-cation packages, one for my husband and myself and another for our friends. Two couples, two rooms. Each package included two nights hotel lodging, a $50 dining credit and two tickets to see MANILOW.Check-in took a while. Cheryl was very polite, professional, competent and patient. Nonetheless, it took quite a while for the two couples to check in mostly because we asked how we would obtain the $50 dining credit. It should be easy. In days gone by, obtaining a dining credit was easy-peasy. The Westgate's process, for those of us who don't carry our entire lives with us on our cell phones, was anything but easy. It meant yet another 15 or 20 minutes during check-out but I wasn't leaving until both couples received a $50 dining credit. The way it was applied was nothing short of crazy but we did finally get the dining credits included in the package. (Dinner for two at BENIHANA was $270 with tip.)After checking in, one should be able to walk to one's room without being accosted. We were almost immediately accosted by someone asking if we'd received our free gift. As soon as we said that we live locally, she told us that we are not in fact eligible. There are Timeshares on the property so we were approached numerous times during our short stay. As if that's not enough, there are shops en route to the elevator bank. Shops on both sides of the only walkway between the Lobby and the elevator bank. Which is fine. But, at the Westgate, the staff from the shops accost guests with free samples and shouting, hawking their wares like carnie barkers. That's annoying when you're just trying to get to your room.Restaurants were pricey. The seats in the theatre are narrow even though most Americans are Wide Body. The video poker machines were as cold as ice. Drink prices are crazy high and the drinks are not very good. We had one round of drinks in the Lobby. By "one round," I mean one beer, two cocktails and an inexpensive Cabernet. With tip those four drinks cost $60! Nothing special about either the beer nor the wine. The Whiskey Sour was just bottled sour mix, very tart. (If you want really good drinks, go to Esther's Kitchen in the Arts District.)The room was adequate but in need of maintenance. See photos.

Westgate is off the strip which is nice as all the car and foot traffic on the strip is off the chain and getting in and out of places can be a serious issue. WiFi can be spotty. Not enough food services inside the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Monorail is close but not the most convenient thing to use as you have to walk long distances to and from the stations. Using Uber is like being a 2nd class citizen as all the hotel make you use ride share pick up which aren't convenient.

Definitely a pattern with bad cleaning and maintenance. I thought my experience in early January of 2025 was a fluke, but apparently it wasn't. I checked in from Friday through Monday and again, the drawers were not cleaned. This time, it was worst, I found some old toilet paper and what appeared to be medication pills. Please note the police also hide on the back street of the hotel to issue speeding tickets (not a reflection on the hotel but it just adds to the layers of cons on staying here).

At $200/night it really should be betterWas here with a golf club, staying and playing for 5days. The room semi-served its purpose, but for what it cost, I'd expect moreThe room is dated...the dressers are old and scratched, the tub and sink drain slow. They allow flyers from local restaurants be tossed under the door (how secure is this place if random people can roam any floor at anytime of day). Although its a casino, they could restrict elevator use to those with room keys A small fridge, but no microwave, and no coffee maker (these are items found even in the cheapest of hotels)Whatever quote you get for lodging (group rate, AAA, etc), be prepared for an additional $50/n resort fee (perhaps AAA failed to mention it when they booked it for me at $144/n)They DO warn you, via text, when elevators are busy, and advise that u can take any set of elevators....but it still will be a walk to your particular tower I didn't take advantage of the facilites that the $50 fee covers (that's on me). But keep that in mind when you plan: don't pay for what you won't useSelf-parking is free, the casino isn't too loud/busy, they offer nightly entertainment (small stage and band near the entrance)We weren't allowed to take the bag cart on our own...tip/pay the bag boy, or carry your own Variety of restaurants to choose from: Japanese, southern, American, etc Decent location, just off the strip, a fellow golfer said he easily strolled from his hotel (the Strat) to oursNot the worse, but for $200/n not the bestNote: you can drop your bags until 4p ck in, but they were going to charge us early to actually ck in early. Meaning long lines at 4pWe opted to go play a round of golf, and didn't get back till after 8, so no line Attached Picture shows their solution for plugging in any of your stuff (phone-watch etc) Most hotels have stepped up and have lamps with integrated plugs...sigh

I've had great experiences here at Westgate. Both visits were for attending shows at two different theaters. The venues have great sound and the performances were outstanding. Use valet it's complimentary but leave a hefty tip for these hard workers. Staff are so helpful and go over and beyond to make your visit memorable. They are the friendliest hotel staff and treat everyone with the highest quality of service.

I was incorrectly charged a $566 smoking fee at the Westgate hotel on Saturday 9/1, and I'm 99% sure I wasn't even in the room at the time they flagged it. I don't smoke at all and I found dozens of trip advisor and Twitter posts saying the Westgate has done this to them. I asked them to check security footage and the locks report. The front desk seems to be part of it as they won't speak to me or help. When I just called they repeated a script and then hung up on me.

I've been staying here on and off for years as my older relatives love it here. However, I do not. This most recent visit was the last straw for me. Our room had two pieces of clothes and shoes by the curtain that did not belong to us. We saw the items when we tried to open the blinds. We went downstairs and complained at the front desk and the response we got from the woman was how long ago did you check in and you're just now saying something.... Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know there was a certain time frame to complain. We got into our room and took a nap. You have no idea where we traveled from for you to ask us why did it take so much for us to complain about someone else's clothing and shoes inside of our room. She stated the only thing that she could help us do was change rooms but they did not have any more rooms with a king bed and clearly that's not going to work. I had to ask for the resort fee to be wavered and they acted like they didn't want to do that.Besides our room being dirty, the majority of the elevators did not work. During checkout, there was people standing waiting for an elevator for over 30 minutes. It took us about 20 minutes to get downstairs because half of the elevators did not work. This hotel is slowly turning into the Stratosphere #2. Soon the hotel will begin charging for parking and then it will not be worth it to stay here. After this last experience, I don't know if I'll stay here again even with free rooms.
