For Valentine's Day, I wanted to take my wife to someplace new that neither of us had tried. After doing some research, I landed on Trattoria Italia. This review is going to be solely based on the Valentine's Day experience, and not a normal visit. Service We had reservations for 7:30 pm. When we walked in, the front area was packed with people waiting to be seated. Everyone had a reservation for 7:30 or earlier, so we knew it was going to be a wait. After 50 minutes, we were seated around 8:20. We were given menus, and about 15 minutes later, they took our food and drink orders. It took another 30 minutes to get everything out due to the busyness of the night. Staff was friendly, but it was hard to ask for anything additional. 2/5FoodBeing Valentine's Day, there was a special menu for the day, which we were not anticipating. I had planned to order something for else from the main menu, but adjusted with the options that were given. We shared a Caesar salad and I ordered the Pappardelle Genova Al Pesto for my entree. Both items were very good. The pesto was excellent and the prawn was perfectly cooked. I had wine as well, which was fine. 4.5/5AmbianceThe restaurant seemed very nice and cozy on a normal day. They added some Valentines decor throughout and had some live music playing. We enjoyed the atmosphere. 4/5Due to the holiday, I know it was not the normal experience. We enjoyed the experience well enough to try it again on a normal night. I recommend giving it a try, just maybe not on a holiday.

Have had this place bookmarked for a while. Valentine's Day dinner was the first opportunity to check it out. I made a reservation for 2, and when we got there and tried to check in, the lady (owner I presume) barely looked up and acknowledged us, but did tell someone to get us a table. I would learn later it was probably because she was super stressed, as the line was starting to backup and everything was getting backed up. She could have been more friendly and welcoming but I know how stressful the restaurant business can be, so I wasn't offended. Later when I exited the lobby I could hear every party that was leaving complain about the slow service and commented on people just arriving how they wouldn't be served til midnight (it was 7:30pm at the time). I could also see frustrated cooks out front angrily smoking cigarettes before going back into the war zone. But fortunately for us, we had a pleasant dinner with really nice, authentic Italian live music. Some couples even got inspired to dance , as it evoked all sorts of good emotions and I'm sure nostalgia for some. Nice touch. The food itself was very good. The octopus carpaccio was sort of like a ceviche. Although good, it became a little redundant after a few bites, so I started eating it with the Caesar salad, as sort of the grilled seafood component and they complimented each other. The stars of the show were the main courses however. My wife had the risotto with scallops and I had the pesto pasta with grilled shrimp. The amount of pasta they gave me was pretty large, which surprised me because I usually don't get enough pasta at Italian restaurants. But this dish had a huge stack of fresh pappardelle. My wife and I like to share and on this particular night we discovered that my pasta, with her scallops in a lemon butter sauce together was SO GOOD. Definitely the hack and should be added to the menu. The lemon sauce made the pesto pop, and the scallops were more juicy than the shrimp. Perfect combo. No dessert since we had to leave for a concert. But overall the food was very good. The restaurant was cozy and had a cool looking bar towards the front entry, music was a great touch but I don't know if that was just a Valentine's Day thing. The service was slow on this night, they were a bit disorganized and were deep in the weeds, but that happens so I won't fault them for this visit.

We made a reservation for Valentine's Day and when we arrived the lobby was packed and there was no one checking anyone in. It was so disorganized that it didn't matter if you had a reservation you were waiting and there was no rhyme or reason how they seated people. Two couples that were already waiting when we walked in told us that they had reservations and had been waiting an hour. We were finally seated 45 mins after our reservation time. There was a special/limited menu on Valentine's Day and the things that we ordered were sold out, or so we thought because an hour later we saw the items that we originally wanted to order being delivered to other tables? The food was good, but not great, and given the quality and portion was a bit pricey. Our server was very nice, but overwhelmed. It took about 10 minutes after we were seated for him to come over and to take our drink order. It took quite a while to get our drinks and to eventually order. This was our first time at this restaurant, and it was so disorganized, and our food was average that we won't go back.

This is a strip mall Italian restaurant. The inside lighting was dim, they had guitarist playing very soothing music; definitely not what I expected based on the outside. The food was just okay. We ordered the calamari and burrata mozzarella for appetizers. Calamari was decent. It was a big portion and had shrimp and fried eggplants I think. My friends ordered the bolognese, eggplant parmigiana, chicken piccata and I had the steak with a side of angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce. While my steak was pretty tasty, my alfredo pasta was bland. The piccata was too citrusy and I did not like it at all. My friends didn't comment on how their food tasted which I take as nothing special. The service was mediocre. When we ask our server if the food or drink was good, he would hesitate and wouldn't really answer the question. He took a while to come back after he took our drink and appetizer orders. This might be my first and last at this restaurant.

The ambience of their restaurant is quite unique. Giving you a feeling of a modern Italian look. Service from the Italian staff is primo. The menu and food closely dovetails to Italian Classics, not American Italian. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for your taste buds.

Stopped by on a Friday night with friends who live in the area. Service from Mark Jeffrey was awesome. He was attentive and polite. He shared that he lived in Italy and he's filipino!!!!Food: A few glasses of Cabernet (Dauo)Fried Mozarella BallsParppadelle Bolognese Grilled OctupusThe Mozarella Balls was delicious. Nice bite size, and the breading was light. The Bolognese was also a hit, and the sauce was perfect. Lastly, the octupas had a nice char to it, and it was tender. Overall, it was a great spot to dine at.

I came here with a friend for restaurant week 2024 and had one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Before seeing it on the list, I had never even heard of this place and am sad for sleeping on it.As part f my four-course meal, I got the arugula and pear salad, bucatini amatriciana, chicken scarpariello, and the cream puff. Each dish was presented beautifully, prepared with skill, and tasted absolutely amazing. It was one of those meals where every bite you look at your dining companion and just smile and shake your head. As ridiculous as this sounds, the salad was the stare of my four courses. The candied walnut, cheese, and arugula are par for the course in a salad but the poached pears and fried goat cheese were a revelation. The pasta was decadent and had a great chew to it. The chicken had an amazing lemon wine sauce which luxuriously coated the vegetables and chicken. The cream puff, while my least favorite of the four dishes, was still a great dessert and finish to this meal. I tried my friend's lobster ravioli and NZ lamb chops and they were out of this world. The only food I didn't really care for was the free bread rolls. They were a bit dry and didn't really have too much flavor. The service was prompt and friendly, the live music was a joy to have while eating and not overly loud, and everybody in their felt like regulars. That being said, for how good the food was, this place was not packed at all. I think there were 5 or 6 tables, including mine, and a few people in the bar. I'm hoping that was just because it was a Thursday night. Do yourself a favor and come here!

I can't recommend Trattoria Italia enough! This charming, family-run Italian spot never disappoints. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The service is amazing--friendly and attentive. For appetizers, the Zucchine Flower and Classic Caesar Salad are absolute standouts. The Zucchine Flower is light and perfectly fried, while the Caesar Salad has the perfect balance of flavors. As for the main dishes, my absolute favorite is the creamy pesto gnocchi--it's rich, perfectly balanced, and the gnocchi itself is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is another favorite--simple, yet bursting with flavor. If you're lucky enough to catch the fish of the day, whether it's seabass or branzino, it's always fresh and delicious. Don't forget to save room for their homemade tiramisu, which is the perfect sweet finish to your meal. For drinks, you can't go wrong with their espresso, which is always strong and smooth, or their dirty martinis, which are truly next level. It's clear the family puts so much love and care into every dish and drink they serve. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
