Delicious, fresh made on the spot bread. Service was fair and they are not busy when we went at 11:30am. No ambience as it's a food hall. Each sandwich with tax and tip is about $18. So not cheap. What I would like to see improvement is donate the 1 inch bread that they cut off (so every sandwich is exact in length) to the shelters instead of dumping the extra bits into the trash bin. That's so much waste everyday and it could have helped the shelters if they donate instead of throwing away food. Do better and be more sustainable in your brand and help out the community.

Maybe the casino should Luke to add an Emmy's, a Grammy's, and an Oscar's...Tony Luke's is a Philadelphia concept that may largely consist of franchises and certainly tends to be placed at captive dining sorts of areas (casinos, stadiums, airports). This location is in the Canteen Food Hall of the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and has remained open since the whole concept debuted about a year ago. I finally decided to check them out after the Rio gave me some food & beverage credit to use via their Rio Rewards program.Rather than waiting in line for the cashier, I went to a kiosk that services the whole food hall and made my order and customizations there. Payment is via a card reader, and the Rio players card is supported and fairly straightforward to use. My order took a few minutes to get ready only because there were a few people ahead of me in line.I know people tend to flock to the cheesesteaks, but I have had a history of experiencing bland sandwiches when I've gone that route. Instead, I went for the Roast Pork Italian ($15.00) with broccoli rabe, sharp provolone, and additional roasted sweet peppers ($0 fee for all of those). The sandwich came out hot enough that it lasted the drive home to Henderson. I dug in promptly once I got back, and it was still warm. The bread is soft, the roast pork comes in reasonably thin slices, and the broccoli rabe is a good pairing that retains enough crunchy character. The flavors might actually be slightly too strong, thanks to the sharp provolone (note: a potentially viable option on a cheesesteak) and the roasted sweet peppers which I found surprisingly spicy.I wouldn't mind having another roast pork sandwich in particular from Tony Luke's. It's the first time I've had this particular regional sandwich, and some intense flavors aside, it was good.

I was underwhelmed by my stop at Tony Luke's. I had to go to the Rio box office. I looked at the area where the wonderful buffet had been and looked at the replacement--so sad and disappointing. On my way to leave for a play nearby, I stopped for dinner at Luke's. There are three ways to order--if there's someone at the register, you can order with them; above the register, a cardboard sign with a QR code hangs. You can scan the QR and place your order that way; finally, you can order at one of two ordering panels on the casino side of the food hall. There was a person at the register working with something on the floor. I asked him if I could order from him and he said he'd take my order. He would not win any congeniality award. After ordering, I went to pay using Apple Pay. Like many such terminals, you can't pay until you do the tip thing. I selected the amount I wanted, paid, and then was given a paper printout of my order to sign. Use CARE here. The sheet they give you get has a blank for tip and then the total line. If you're not careful, you may tip twice. As one of those poeple who is getting very tired of the tipping explosion, I'm getting to the point that I have no trouble pressing the no tip option. Just be aware of this. The sheet they give you has a spot you sign to make the purchase "official" I guess. Most Apple Pays don't require signing.I had not seen the sign Pick Up Here because I was in a different spot. I took a seat and waited for my name to be called. When it wasn't, I got up and went to the other side and saw the pick up sign. I watched as the cook made a couple of cheesestaeks. He puts a frozen rectangular shaped slab of pressed beef about 1/4 inch thick on the grill. After the grill has heated enough, he breaks down the slab with a spatula. For me, he put a long slice of provolone on the grill, put the meat on top, and then placed it in the bun. Another employee, a very pleasant woman, wrapped the sandwich and hande dit to me.The thing about this is it's the same thing I do to make cheesesteaks at home only instead of a rectangle, my frozen beef comes in an oval. Two of these in a pan, some heat, and I can break it apart and then stir it around to cook the beef. I use more provolone but that's my preference. For $17.69 with tip and tax, I can make four sandwiches at home not counting the cost of the rolls and it would be as good or better than Tony's.I sat and ate my sandwich. I had opted for some fried onions. There were a few, but they didn't add to the sandwich. This is a definitely a one and done place. It's good Tony stayed in South Philly or he may have ended up in the Roundhouse when it was used.

This place is a machine with pre measured portions cooked to order so every sandwich is just perfect. I came after both WNBA playoff games trying the cheesesteak first and then the roast pork. Both were authentic and a bargain meal at under $20 with tax and tip. Different employees both nights were all super nice.

One of my coworkers asked me if I had come here yet and did a review about a month ago and I hadn't. So the other day I finally made it in and had a $10 Comp from the Rio , so why not. We both go to Pop's a few times a year and a few other places too. I got the Cheesesteak with provolone cheese and added roasted peppers and no onions. I had to wait a few minutes for the bread that was baking in the oven. No problem , fresh bread , yes. Well , I got it home and it looked pretty good. The bread tasted pretty good , but the meat was a little plain tasting. Good thing I got the roasted peppers to add some flavor to it. As I was eating it and it was getting cooler the taste got worse. As others have said it reminds you of steakem's and this was after eating less than half of it. I did finish eating it , but I was not very happy with the sandwich. They also sell a chicken version , but I can't see it being any better than this one. I can't recommend this place and probably won't try anything else there since this is their signature sandwich it should be the best thing on the menu.

Who says you have to go to Philadelphia for an authentic cheesesteak? Tony Luke's has finally brought these award - winning sandwiches to the West Coast. Located in the Canteen Hall Of the Rio Hotel. These cheesesteak sandwiches are worth the hype. I ordered a cheesesteak with provolone ($13) and it was so delicious. I almost ordered another one. Sandwich was a good size, wait was not bad, and the cashier was friendly and pleasant. It's in the hotel food court so seating was not too bad. I recommend if you're into cheesesteaks

This one is located in the Rio food court (where the buffet used to be).I only ate there once and it was pretty good. I had the cheese steak. It was pretty good and not too expensive. I do wish, however, that they had French fries, but that's just me. They do have chips and you can get a cup for a drink at the soda fountain station.I thought the bread for the cheese steak was very good along with the meat. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm here.

What an excellent addition to our city! I hope the rio stays open just for this sandwich spot! The must have is the Italian roast pork with the spinach and not the rabe. But it's your preference. The aggressive flavors of the sharp provolone with the garlicky spinach and juicy pork combine to make something truly special. We got a cheesesteak too because science. It was delicious as well and better and more authentic than anything you could get out here. The young man that took care of us was friendly and knowledgeable. We need more Tony Luke's in town at more convenient locations for locals! Will be back for sure though.

There are so many food halls popping up in Vegas, I haven't really had a chance to explore. I was craving cheesesteak the other night so I figured I'd try Tony Luke's at Canteen Food Hall inside Rio.I got my sandwich with onions, both wiz and provolone - which some people may not agree with but hey - this is how I prefer mine. I really liked it - the meat was tender and juicy and that bread was nice and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. As you can see, size was not an issue - the prices are standard for Vegas - inside a hotel/resort. No, I don't think I paid too much for what I got. My sandwich was pretty big and it had a lot of meat and cheese in it. Whether we like it or not, It's now *normal* to pay an average of $15 for a sandwich.I would definitely go back. Maybe add mushrooms and peppers to my cheesesteak next round. What would make this cheesesteak 5 stars for me? Fattier meat - which most people probably don't want. So, I will take it as it is. P.S. The people working the stall were so nice!
