I had to get away from the strip because I wanted some authentic food. While I was doing some record shopping, I found my uncle; Tio Simon. When I tell you that my Venezuelan Unc can throw down!! I haven't eaten at a lot of Venezuelan cuisine restaurants, but this spot has definitely set the bar. The food is fresh and the service is awesome. For those who are not fluent in Spanish, don't worry about not understanding what you are ordering. The menu is written in English and Espanol! I am really glad that I found this restaurant. The meal I had is better than majority of the food I have had so far. Make you sure you stop by here. Unc and 'nem will take care of you.*I am not related to Tio Simon. However, I did have an Uncle whose last name was Simon and he lived in Jacksonville. Best bowler I have ever seen. Ok, I'm talking too much lol. Have a good one!

We have been passing by this play for a while and been saying that I wanted to try it and today we finally did. Definitely did not disappoint! We were greeted right away by a nice gentleman and the older lady in the back, really didn't know what we were going to order other than "Arepas" but with the help of the nice gentleman explaining the menu and what's good we went by his recommendation since it's our first time. My husband got the Arepa Cabimera "Gaita" and I got the Pabellon Criolla. Food came within 10 mins maybe less and let me tell you it was Flavor, mine came within two sauces one was spicy and the green sauce which was cilantro lime. The beans on my plate w the cheese so good that even my husband who does not like beans was eating off of mine, the beef had so much flavor and my plantains were delicious. Husband's plate was also really really good his arepa on the bottoms had a nice crisp to it he did get extra meat as well it was a huge portion and he ate the whole thing. The restaurant inside is nice and homey feels like you're at a restaurant in Venezuela, loved the decorations, this place is a hidden gem and it needs to be more out there, they are literally hidden in the little corner probably the reason why they aren't so busy. Hopefully this place stays open because we definitely will be coming back for sure

Great all around! Went in search of arepas and found this gem! First time visit and we were warmly welcomed. Our server (we didn't get his name, he may have been an owner) was super helpful, answered questions, and made great recommendations. We had three different arepas and fried plantains with their house made cheese - all amazing! The green & red sauces were so flavorful. Will definitely return.

What a fun place. It was my first experience with Venezuelan food. We tried the arepas. Delicious! Our server was wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. It was like walking into another country where I had never been. The atmosphere was lively, Spanish music and television, most of the other customers were conversing in Spanish. The menu was in Spanish and English. I will return to try some of the other dishes they serve. I loved it.

Tio Simon is an authentic Venezuelan spot. I have been craving a delicious Arepa and I stumbled upon this place on Yelp since I was close to the area. Parking lot was spacious and it's not hard to find the restaurant in the corner of the plaza. As we walked in, we were greeted by a kind gentleman on the counter. We were seated and we were greeted with a smile asking if we've been there before. They have a huge selection of Venezuelan cuisine in their menu, but I was more excited of the guava and cheese and to taste one of the Arepa so I ordered what the gentleman has recommended to us. When the guava and cheese Roll came, it was freshly baked and hot, and it was delicious. I even thought of ordering more to go, but I'd rather come back to taste the other food in the menu. The arepas filled with perfectly cooked and shredded meat inside with black beans and cheese. My son and I enjoyed it. It was delicious overall. And I would wanna come back to have a taste of more food that they offer.
