Creative names for sushi but sadly not something we will come back for. Just did not taste good/fresh to us.

I came to leave a review and was shocked at the rating. The sushi was so good, prices were decent! Service was great. There is no AYCE but I almost never get that anyway cause I can't eat that much. I can't lie the spicy scallop roll was just as delicious as the Irish roll I got and 1/2 the price . If I had any complaint it would be that the fresh wasabi was not spicy at all (the other wasabi was not really either). But the plum wine was only $6 and miso soup $2.50. Also, the atmosphere is nice as well! And the presentation of the rolls was fun and classy . I will be back (glad I didn't look at reviews before I came )

Bottom line - "The Sushi" is not bad, but it's not the greatest either. This is not an AYCE establishment, so everything is served à la carte. Continue reading for an in-depth review of my first experience:"The Sushi" is located in Henderson. The signage that faces the back needs revamping as it looks old. The interior of the restaurant seems odd, as it had some pinecone and vine thing going on that reminded me of Christmas, and it's almost summertime now. The table we were seated at was rather small. The bathroom didn't seem dirty, but the decor was tacky. We had a younger gentleman take our order for drinks and the slip where we penciled in what food we wanted. I asked for water with lemon, and the piece of lemon I had in my cup was so tiny and thin. I couldn't even taste the lemon in my water.. but I just let it be. My partner ordered a Newport Beach sashimi platter, which comes with soup and salad of THEIR choice (we weren't asked what kind of soup or salad we wanted). The salad appeared to be prepackaged and came in a small bowl with two sliced cucumbers and a thick, white dressing. My partner said it was just okay. I had the soup, which was miso. It was mediocre. All of the sashimi was cut super thick. I tried one piece of salmon, and it lacked flavor. The texture of the salmon was hard as well, and it didn't have that delicate texture and flavor that I'm used to when enjoying sashimi. There was no "melt in your mouth" sensation from this at all, which is very disappointing because salmon is my go-to. We also got an order of the Eel Roll, Salmon Lover Roll, Spider Roll, and "The Sushi" roll. The eel roll was okay. "The Sushi" roll (which I assume is their signature roll due to the name) was actually prepared nicely. This roll was made of spicy tuna, cucumber, fresh tuna, and spicy garlic ponzu sauce. Simple, yet delicious. I appreciate that it was rolled tightly and was easy to eat. The Salmon Lover Roll was overpowered by the sauce. I was, once again, disappointed by the lack of flavor of the salmon. This roll was difficult to eat as the rolls were falling apart and not rolled tightly. The Spider Roll was good. There was an abundance of crab, but the soft shell crab was minimal. I really liked the taste of the soft shell crab, though. The rolls on this one were also falling apart and not rolled tightly. Our waiter didn't bring us our food but another lady did. The only time we saw our waiter again was to bring us the check. Food came out to over $90 (not including tip). One observation I had was that when our water was tending to another table, someone asked about a sauce on one of the sushi rolls. The waiter just walked away without saying anything to ask the chef. I think it's important to be knowledgeable about the menu, but maybe he was new? Anyways, I'm on the fence if I want to give this place another chance. This is definitely not the best sushi I've had. I think three stars is being generous. If I have the choice, I would rather go a further distance for something far more flavorful and fresh. I hope "The Sushi" makes improvements.

Four stars because theres nothing wrong with this place, but it's not my favorite because of my own specific preferences. They have a good fish to rice ratio. The rolls are delicious but in a town, where half of the sushi restaurants are AYCE, I will say that you will pay twice as much or more for half the quantity you might get at an all you can eat place. The rolls are great, but not so spectacular that i can justify the price. I think that the crab salad filling was a little bit overstuffed inside the rolls, but some people like that. My order was Dragon, cucumber and salmon roll for $42 before tip. It wasn't busy, but service was fast and friendly.

I stopped in around late lunch time and the place was quiet. Service was fast and thw food was good.Lovely sushi house in a small strip mall just off the freeway. Interior is clean, nice enough for date night and customer service was excellent. A good selection of sake and Sony as well! I ordered Tako, white tuna, uni, and tuna. The uni wasn't as fresh as I would have liked and it was the last order they had available. The white tuna was delicious as was the Tako. I would like to see what this place is like at dinner rush, so I plan on swinging by again in a few weeks. Ambiance: casual-date nightCleanliness: very cleanCustomer service: excellent

This sushi place is kind of hard to find and that might be why it's not always packed. The sushi is very fresh and they have all the rolls you could ever think of or have ever got see in other places. They also have some dishes for those that don't like sushi like fried chicken and noodle dishes. The rolls are reasonably priced as well. Don't forget to get the spicy garlic edamame probably one of the best in town. just wish they had a wider variety of domestic beers and maybe some mixed drinks.

The owner is extremely smart for opening this location deep in Henderson. Being the only sushi location on that side of town makes for good business!! The Downside... it is NOT AYCE With that said the fish quality was good. The rice to fish ratio was perfect and no complaints about the rice itself! It is kid friendly!! My son loved his chicken fried rice and to be honest it's adult portion! There were many rolls to choose from my friend wasn't too impressed by the place but like I said for being in Henderson this place is awesome! It'll probably lose business once an AYCE sushi spot opens tho.

I've been coming here forever and it's always been great. I am surprised they don't have a better rating. It's the best local Henderson place unless you go out to Green Valley.
