My wife and I have been somewhat regulars here but it's been awhile since we last ate here. The Chuck Wagon Restaurant is inside The Longhorn Hotel And Casino which in my opinion has seen better days and seems to attract a certain and older crowd.Believe it or not this establishment gets quite a bit of business (especially during breakfast) and don't be surprised if put on a waiting list to be seated. The place itself is smallish, outdated, and gives a diner-esque yet saloonish feel to it. Plays great music, though. If cigarette smoke bothers you at any capacity, this is probably not the place for you because it's nestled right next to the gambling floor where patrons are chain smoking. The service is ok and can be pretty inconsistent. Some days it's on point, others it's like, "WTH?!" Having to flag someone for a drink refill even when it isn't busy. At times, it seems the servers like to hang out in the cook area at the back. Nonetheless, depending who's working, good service does happen here. The food here is where it gets really spotty. In my opinion (and it's just MY opinion) The Chuck Wagon isn't known for their quality but for their affordability and price point. They have a rather vast menu from breakfasts to burgers/sandwiches to steak/lobster and everything in between. A lot to choose from, really. Again, the quality is questionable. It's not horrible but average at best. There hasn't been a meal I've ordered that I've returned nor left uneaten. If I were to recommend a certain type of meal, I'd say breakfast. Affordability is where this place shines. Where can you find a steak and lobster meal for $18 that doesn't require to be there during a happy hour? Albeit, on the small side but still... You can order anything on their menu and walk out paying less than $20 before tip. For a sit down restaurant, that's stellar. Most fast food places are more expensive nowadays with even worse quality/service.Overall, this is not a bad place to have a meal. Just don't come here expecting gourmet but to more suffice a need on a budget. Keep in mind The Longhorn Hotel And Casino is located in an area that is less to be desired in the SE Vegas Valley. Keep your doors locked and your head on a swivel. 3.5 stars from me. Good luck!

We decided to stop here after watching a local band play. It was pretty busy. But we were sat right away. You have to walk through the smokey Longhorn casino floor to get to the restaurant. The decor theme is cowboy and Western. But the people watching was a 10+++.Our server Shane was amazing. His personality is larger than life. I swear my wife made a new GBF! LOL I got the $16.99 steak and lobster She wasn't too hungry and ordered the hot dog no bun.We told him she was gluten free. He came out with the bread and jokingly apologized to her as you put it in front of me, which was hilarious. The lobster tail was small but you can't expect a huge tail for this price. The steak with top sirloin and it was perfectly cooked. All and all, we had a great meal for $35.

Follow -upWe had another good visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the chicken on the barbecue platter was completely hard and dry, and so was the cornbread. Otherwise, everybody was served good hot fresh food, properly cooked. Their banana splits are huge! We received excellent service from Shane.

Lately I've been curious about finding hidden gem diners inside small casinos. I saw a video that talked about the 1 pound burger challenge at Chuck Wagon so looked it up and decided to give it a try.Whenever I try one of these places out, I always compare them to my standard -- Ellis Island. 9/10 times they fall short. And as far as Chuck Wagon goes, it wasn't too bad but not quite there. I'd say the burger was pretty good, no complaints at all. If there was one improvement they could make it would be the bun. It's a little on the dense side, in fact if anyone does the 1 lb challenge, I'm guessing the bun will be the hardest part. But it's not such an offender to hinder your enjoyment, just a little thick for me.Chili was very good, shake was solid, club sandwich fine. They do have some amazing cheap eats deals here, so might easy to check it out. I did gander over at the table next to me for their prime rib, and it did not look exceptionally appetizing which is a bummer and one reason it can't compare to Ellis Island. But definitely not bad and worth a visit for you to make your own opinion .

I never thought that I'd write this about The Chuck Wagon because my boyfriend and I always got great service and great food there. My boyfriend went to The Chuck Wagon to get me some liver and onions which I've been craving and I've got really bad allergies, especially food allergies and bad stomach issues, but The Chuck Wagon has always worked with me and never made me feel like a bother, so what happened today? My boyfriend got there and ordered my liver and onions and he was asked if he wanted the rice that came with it and he said, " No." He was asked if he wanted the mashed potatoes and gravy and he told them that I was allergic to potatoes, which I am, and could I just have some fruit? The person taking the order said she'd ask and she came back and said, " No." Excuse me? Fruit is on their menu, and they've never had a problem before letting me have fruit, they just charged me which is okay, and when my boyfriend brought home my liver and onions and opened the box for me corn was inside and I'm allergic to corn too!! My boyfriend was livid because he said that he wasn't even asked if I would like corn. I had to stop him from going back there and asking to speak to a manager while he had my order with him. We're regulars when I'm feeling better and the servers who get us most of the time know about me and my allergies and stomach issues, and I apologize to them for being a Diva and they're very kind to me because I don't like being in the ER vomiting, in pain, and doctors trying to get me to breath because a food that I'm allergic to touch a food that I could eat! Then I called to see what was taking my boyfriend and whoever answered the phone needed to learn her phone manners. I asked for my boyfriend by first name and last name, and I asked was he standing there waiting? She said, " No" and said that I needed to be transferred to the front desk. I said just my boyfriend's name and not his last name and she all of a sudden remember and she told me that he had just left and I thanked her. My boyfriend and I were very disappointed in The Chuck Wagon today and we're never are disappointed in them.

Food was great! Service was on point! It's an old western feel! 15-20 minutes off the strip. Worth the drive! Cheap eats with quality ingredients.

IYKYK. This is THE spot for good cheap eats. The host, Alex, is very attentive, well mannered, and courteous when asking what seating arrangements you'd like, whether it's a table or booth. He always asks how your experience was at The Chuckwagon and makes sure you were satisfied with your service. Our waiter, John, is the politest person we've encountered and he's always ready to suggest a good dish. He makes sure you're enjoying your meal and asks if you need anything else to ensure you're satisfied. Our go to meal is the Turkey Club sandwich (1/4 shown, I was so into it that I forgot to take a photo before we chowed down) with avocado and extra bacon, sub mayo with homemade Caesar dressing. It is incredibly delicious and is more than enough so I always share with my husband. I tried their $7 Coronarita and all I can say is that it's worth every single penny. The strip restaurants have nothing on this joint. The graveyard shift is the best time to come. It's not as packed and you get graveyard specials such as all you can eat pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and the breakfast specials (2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, hash browns, and toast) all for under $5 each! We have been coming here for a while now and we greatly recommend this place!

I know we had eaten at this place several years ago but evidently I didn't leave a review so didn't know if we enjoyed it or not. However, this time we were enticed by the posted specials so thought we'd give it a try.Of course, it's Las Vegas and it's in a casino which means it smells smokey. It was and it was also dark. It's a small little restaurant in the back and not especially inviting. Our server was absolutely fine. I ordered the barbecue platter special and my husband ordered the taco salad. The barbecue platter came out loaded with barbecue sauce. I'm thinking that's why it was a barbecue platter because it certainly wasn't barbecued. It was chicken, ribs and brisket. Sounds delicious doesn't it? It wasn't. I think it'd been around a while as it was dry and smothered in barbecue sauce. The taco salad wasn't much better. The meat was drenched in some type of mexican seasoning.... way too much.We learned again not to be enticed just by price.

After reviewing the extensive the foods on the menu, we decided on liver & onions and the BBQ platter. These two items were just okay in my opinion. Aside from the food, the main point of this review is for the service. Our waiter, Shane, was unbelievably attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu and I will make sure to request Shane to serve us.
