So let's get the one good thing pit of the way. If you need a donut fix. Then yes this is the place to go since there isn't a place around for miles that sells donuts.Everything else is downhill. Tiny location. Only has about seats for 6 people. No bathrooms. And when you first walk in it feels like your at a bank with all the protective glass and a small opening to do the transactions. If I could I would avoid at all costs. But since I was just passing thru for me it wasn't a big deal

A few of us were meeting up for Terri R.'s 2014 Donut Crawl-East to West, and Sunrise Too Donuts was my donut shop to hit up.They are located in a tiny little strip mall on E Charleston, betweem a Llantera(Tire Shop) and La Flor De Michoacan Ice Cream Shop. Donut prices vary from $.85 for a cake style donut to $1.25 for filled variations. This is the only donut shop that I noticed carried two different sizes on the cake, yeast raised and crumb versions. We chose an Apple Fritter, Chocolate Glazed Bavarian Cream Filled, Crumb, Twist Glazed, Buttermilk Bar, and substituted a Chocolate Glazed Old Fashioned. and a Maple Bar since there were no Sour Cream or Blueberry Cake donuts available. The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful with putting our box of goodies together, and we were in and out in no time.As always, come early for the best selections, and no plastic...CASH ONLY!!! Cash only! Great traditional selection of donuts. Lady was courteous and I didn't feel rushed to make my selection. I ended up getting a jelly donut it was really soft and the filling was perfect paired with a pint of whole milk from Darigold. I mean I'm eating donuts already why go with a non fat or 1 percent. hahaha

A cute little donut shop in the not-so-great part of town, but don't let that deter you from stopping by if you're in the neighborhood. There is a little seating area inside and they have a number of choices of donuts to choose from. At the time of this review, $9 for a dozen of mixed donuts. Their donuts are lot bigger and taller, so it evens out. Hooray for the find!

Until the day I tasted their simple glazed donut, I had always thought, "A donut is a donut, what's not to like?" Yes, it was a fool-mouthed, careless, uneducated attitude towards the mighty donut, but when you are talking about fried dough covered in a sugary glaze, it seems like a reasonable attitude. This was the second stop on our Saturday donut crawl (highly recommended adventure), and when I entered two thoughts entered my head:1. Why is everything behind bars?2. Why does everything in that case look like a dream treat from Willy Wonka? The answer to the first question: it is a slightly tough part of town, but not any different than where I lived in Atlanta for close to 5 years, so I wasn't running to my car in fear. I just took notice that they were prepared for potential theft. And, rightly so because if I were a thief, I would want to steal these donuts. The answer to the second question: Because these are some frickin' fantastic donuts. Okay, granted, that I had half a glazed donut, but that has been my standard for tasting virtually every donut in town, and the second my teeth bit down into this doughy delight, something was different. The dough was soft and light and melted into my mouth like magic. The glaze appeared to be perfectly fused as my lap was not covered in pesky glaze chips. My husband described it as a "giant Kripy Kreme," which he considers the icon of doughnut perfection, as many do. Personally, I would take this jumbo sized version over those teeny little things any day. There are a couple of booths to sit down and enjoy your selections, and the place is incredibly clean despite being older. Their goods are a bit more expensive (.90 for one), but this isn't just any donut. This donut showed me that in the land of donuts some are truly kings.

The Vegas donut tour continues.I left my house early and stopped by Sunrise Too Donuts one recent morning on the way to work since it wasn't too far off the 95 on the way to Henderson, specifically in Nedco Plaza, about a mile west of the 95 freeway. The sun was just starting to rise when I arrived around 6:00am, an hour after opening, and I was the only customer at that time. The first thing I noticed were the security bars on the windows; there are treasures inside, obviously. There was a nice lady behind the display case to greet me, as well as the standard selection of donuts, plus snacks such as Grandma's cookies--funny. The cases were filled with new batches of goodies since it was early. There were two sizes of the crumb donut, my go-to choice. I chose the smaller version as well as a coconut cake donut. I paid the lady at the register, which is behind plexiglass- more security. I was in and out of there in a jiffy and the whole detour only took about ten minutes. I got to work, brewed a cup of tea, British-style, and devoured both of my donuts, no sharing with co-workers. Verdict? Both of the donuts were worth the field trip, tasty, fresh, and moist. I'll definitely be back.CASH ONLY

Passed by this place many times in the last few months now that I'm working in the DTLV area. I stopped in and got a couple donuts and a milk. The donuts were a Bavarian Creme filled chocolate glazed and a maple bar. The one thing I noticed is they are very fresh and tasted delicious. The other thing I noticed when I took a bite and the frosting flaked off as if it was watered down to extended it out to cover more donuts. I'm not saying that's a bad thing because I picked up the glaze with the last bite of donut!!!

My most recent Asian-owned donut experience at KD's in Henderson was a nightmare- Sunrise is the dream version of the same basic business concept! Full pastry cases with beautiful-looking breakfast treats along with welcoming (and English-speaking) service. It really IS that simple.Opted for the maple bar and the buttermilk bar based on others' reviews: maple bar was surprisingly less sweet than other versions I've had, allowing the distinct maple flavors to stand out. Buttermilk bar had great texture and a crispy exterior I really enjoyed. Total for both came to under $2.Store also offers coffee and other bottled drinks, as well as candies. Small dine-in seating area. Building itself faces 30th street rather than Charleston, as the address indicates. Blink and you'll miss it driving by.

Lack of customer service. As we walked inside the store we were not even greeted. It was not busy with customers and the lady working there didn't acknowledge us. We ended up walking out and went to a different donut shop.

This is an interesting little donut shop. When you walk in the entire bakery and cashier section is behind a clear plexi-glass that I wouldn't be surprised to hear is bullet proof. This closes off a lot of the space and can make the section you stand in to order feel very cramped. However, off to the left they have three, four person booths that you can sit down in after you order. The parking lot is also very cramped! There was a lot of construction on the roads when I went but even without that it probably could only hold 15 cars. Despite this, the owners are very sweet! I came in really late on national donut day after being turned away from two other closed shops. It was like 3:30pm. They greeted me as I walked in and served me promptly with a smile. I ordered a simple chocolate bar donut with a box of milk. The dream! For it being so late in the afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised that my donut tasted fresh and soft! I'm fact it was significantly better than the same style of donut from any national chain I have tried. If I lived close enough I'd be back to this shop all the time! As it stands, if I'm ever on this side of town again I'll make sure to drop by.
