Quiet, decent lounge located in The Platinum Hotel. Perfect ambiance if you're looking for a quick or quiet drink, or dinner, and at a very reasonable price. I needed a quick bite, and got the penne + a side of fries. The food was wonderful (generous portions and well prepared), and Briahna at the bar was even better - friendly, hospitable and the right amount of contact despite me sitting at the bar. I will definitely be coming back!

Stir is a cool little upscale-ish lounge within the Platinum hotel in the lobby. I make it a point to visit every so often because i absolutely love the quiet intimate atmosphere .If you come for Happy hour they have a selection of half off cocktails and some complimentary wine (if that's what you fancy). While you sip on your cocktail they'll give you some homemade munchies like their cajun chips. Very very tasty. No gambling, no smoking and no noise, so you can have yourself a classy little cocktail hour away from the racket if you choose. I'm very fond of this lounge.

Can I say what a great Happy Hour place! The ambience is like an elegant English Pub with secluded areas that small groups can congregate and enjoy their drinks and appetizer in plush sofas that you sink right into... The background music wasn't over powering, allowing you still have a conversation without telling. And the lighting really set the tone of unwinding and enjoying the company, drink and food! The waitress - Lori was exceptional. She nave us feel like she was only catering to us! The drinks and food were great for the price! 4 Mango margaritas and 2 orders of their taco was $35! Great deal. Definitely a must if you are staying here or even want a place that's low key!

More like 2.5, but I can't bring myself to bump this up star wise.Located in the Platinum hotel is Stir -- a modern cocktail lounge with hidden tables, cushy seats, and what seems a well appointed bar and menu. Glancing at their information online, Stir seemed the perfect place for a pre-party cocktail and light dinner considering their "tapas" menu would be 50% off and looked fairly tasty. We came down all dolled up-- and realized the menu they had online was NOT current. No big deal, this happens a lot (although the majority of us were disappointed with a much less inspired and more limited menu). Drinks and nibbles were ordered and we waited. While waiting we were surprised to notice a party of people who were actually louder than ~us~ (we are known for being boisterous). In a true Vegas fashion -- a large group of people in town for a wedding were partying it up in Vegas. Loudly.Very loudly. One girl was so loud and enjoying herself so much she jumped on the bar and was quickly escorted back to her less arboreal seat. Normally id say "this is Vegas" but the Platinum is a non-casino/semi off strip hotel (so less boozing options) AND it was 6 pm; which is a bit early, even in my book. The staff were rightfully frazzeled and annoyed, and due to that groups craziness we were a second thought for the eveningThe drinks came -- I chose a berry mojito. While fruity and fizzy I could not tell if there was any booze in it at all. I might as well have been drinking juice. Orders then came out -- the burger I was splitting came out boringly well done instead of the medium rare we asked for. Add on that is was bland, luke warm, and came with a pile of dull fries and I was annoyed we paid $11 for that sadness. I tasted a friends hummus -- which was runny and watery tasting with hard pita bread. Another friend ordered the skewers which was supposed to come with hoison, but instead came with a bland and watery ranch dressing.Stir served its purpose that evening, but I made it a point to not visit again the rest of my trip.

As my lady friends and I descended from our rooms, all tarted up for a bash, we decided to hit Stir for a quick happy hour cocktail and some nibbles. Stir looks quite nice, all sofas and dim lighting, and the happy hour menu posting on the website indicated half off cocktails and apps from 4-8. Unfortunately, the actual menu was quite a bit smaller and quite a bit less appetizing but again, happy hour, so we figured no big deal and placed our orders. The berry mojito was very tasty but very, very weak on the rum, if indeed it had any. Our burger was a sad grey patty covered in tasteless cheese on a smushy bun, depression in edible form. A friend's hummus was weirdly oily and the pita stale and hard. The beef skewers came with thin, mucousy ranch instead of hoisin as promised. So yes, this bar is convenient, and yes, the happy hour prices are compelling. Even so, save your money unless you like to chew on your own disappointment.

Gotta agree with the other lovely ladies in my group. Although I really liked the berry mojito, it was definitely more of a berry soda - refreshing and tart, it would have been perfect if I had paid soda prices, not cocktail prices for the drink. My sister's strawberry something or other was OK, and I don't remember what either of us had for round two, except that it was pretty sweet.Sister and I split the sampler platter, which was some chicken wings (meh), beef skewers (good but ranch??), and one other item which I can't remember either, so I doubt it was much to write home about. The service was scattered, no doubt to the loud and rowdy party going on, and the menu limited. Half off for hh is a great deal but you need something to offer. It might be better on a night that things aren't so out of control, but with so many places in Vegas to pick from, first impressions are everything.I did have a hilarious 'only in Vegas' moment in the bathroom which I won't post here to protect the innocent, but when that's the highlight of your visit, the lounge has some work to do.

While staying at the Platinum, the bf and I stopped by the lounge twice. We opted for the bar both times, rather than sink into the spacious plush couches that filled the lounge. The service was quicker, the bartenders were entertaining, we had front row seats in front of the TV to watch the Lakers in the playoffs :(, and it was easier to get our booties off the bar chairs. Our first visit was a stop for beers before heading out to Fremont Street. For 2 Blue Moons, we paid a whopping $4.25. I'm pretty sure that on top of the half off HH pricing, we were still undercharged. The next evening, we ate dinner here, which was conveniently HH (M - Sun 4 - 8) again. For 1 Guiness, 2 Blue Moons, a Stir Burger, and crab cakes, we shelled out $17. I agree with the other Yelp! elites that the food here is not spectacular, and not even memorable, but for HH prices, it tasted decent. The bf's burger was juicy and filling, though slightly overcooked for requesting medium. My crab cakes were savory, and came in 4 medium-sized patties. A solid lounge, but a bit off the beaten path for me to visit every time I'm in Vegas. Now that I'm more inclined to book rooms at the Platinum, I'll visit this lounge more, during Happy Hour.

Wow, what a girl!! We met Ms. Brittany at Stir. She was fantastic. Helped us with the menu choices. She knows her stuff. Brittany was pleasant. We were tired and hungry. Very engaging. She cared about what she did for us too! She explained she handles our food orders and when the food arrived it was delicious. Secondly, we had Anthony at the Bar. He was our bartender during our 7-person business meeting. He was creative with some mellow thoughts for drinks. Along with ( We think his boss "shikira" --like the singer!) they both had us laughing and understanding some neat cocktails that we loved! What a company. Great location and staff. Real professionals. Keep up the good work. Oh, by the way too, as moved in, our lock was not working properly at #1006. A gentleman named "Nick", came up within minutes and fixed us up ASAP. I think he was the engineer for the condo. But he was fast and very pleasant. As folks visiting from AZ, we were tired and had many bags for our room and a lobbby meeting to set up. Joel was patient and seemed NOT bothered by 50 bags!!! Awesome dude. Everything went to everyone's rooms perfect. Whoever is the top boss; Truly, stop and tell these folks how great they are!!! That someone appreciated them very much. We will be back!!

We experienced their food via takeout to our rooms and we both ordered burgers, which were really great! The fries were good as well. My only complaint is that the Platinum Hotel & Spa, which Stir is located in, isn't open during the day. Maybe we are the oddballs out in Vegas but it would be great to be able to order more than just dinner from 5pm-10pm. Also when we tried to order room service, their website was done so we had to call in and pick it up ourselves instead, which was fine but we just had to adjust our plans. Would order from here again next time and now that we know room service/dining is limited we would adjust our expectations and use it as a backup during their limited hours in case other plans feel through.
