My coworker and I chose to dine here for dinner, and we were blown away by the exceptional service provided by Justin, our server. The food was not only delicious but also expertly prepared, with each dish carefully crafted to provide a truly exceptional dining experience. The happy hour specials were equally impressive, offering a wide range of options that catered to our diverse tastes and preferences. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, Justin ensured that our experience was nothing short of exceptional, providing us with personalized attention and ensuring that our every need was met. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making us feel right at home. Here are some of my favorite things we ordered from the happy hour menu. Angus Beef Tataki Baked Mussels Bang Ban Shrimp Escolar Carpaccio Cajun Albacore Sashimi Crispy Brussels Sprouts Mixed Tempura Pork Belly Kushiyaki I am absolutely counting down the days until I can come back and experience it all again. I truly recommend SOHO to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience.

After years of reading Soho reviews, my family and I finally got to try this restaurant. It was not a perfect experience when we went for dinner on a weekday night. My son had their wagyu burger. Quality and taste was 5/5. Now their menu said $22 for the burger but we were charheg $26. Yes $26 for a burger. Apparently they changed their prices but did not update the menu, which is false advertising. My wife had the Soho roll and I had the chirashi bowl. The fish as excellent. The rice is when things went downhill. The rice they used was long grain and was very dry! Sushi rice is always short grain. The chef checked on us and explained that their rice distributor ran out of their usual stock and they had to come up with an alternative. Fail. It really ruined the entire experience. Excellent fish + dry long grain rice = disaster. Unacceptable. Had to slash 2 stars for this review.

I came here because of the unique and tasty looking food in the photos, and I was not disappointed. Although they no longer have the sushi cake on the menu (R.I.P) which is the reason I was drawn to this place, they do have some very delightful dishes. We tried the Miso Chilean Sea Bass (8/10) Hamachi Serrano Yuzu (9/10), Sake Pop Rocks (9/10) Spider Roll (8/10) Surf & Turf (4/10) Shishito Peppers (7/10) Brussels Sprouts (7/10) and the High Roller Roll (10/10). I was blown away by this experience both positively and negatively. Impressive: All the sushi was phenomenal. To be fair, we didn't try any plain sashimi which is the true test on fish quality, but I applaud the chefs for choosing citrus as the most prominent pairing for the dishes. It's the only way to take a roll and make it taste fresh, even if it might not be. I can't speak to the freshness but I can speak to the flavor profiles of everything we ate, and for a picky fish person I was impressed with everything on the sushi side of the meal. I love the boldness of using pop rocks for a unique mouth feel and the High Roller roll really felt like something unique and spectacular was happening in my mouth. I am going to drag people here to experience these amazing items. The manager, Justin, made us feel very welcome. He was our server for the evening and we felt like royalty. Our friend's soda glass was never empty without asking (this guy goes through 4-6 glasses a meal) and Justin brought us the shishito peppers as a peace offering for a couple of items taking extra time in the kitchen. He also brought out the Sake Pop Rocks at no charge, because he could tell we were a sharing/tasting crowd. All around wonderful stuff here. The unimpressive: The surf and turf was so disappointing. It was nice that they offer a flat rate for the lobster rather than saying "MP" on the menu but we can't explain how chewy underwhelming Rib Eye and a Creamy lobster tail that inconsistently tasted somewhere between delicious lobster, creamed butter, nothing, and bitter seaweed (depending on the bite you took) came out to $75. I was truly shocked by this because SoHo is a Land & Sea location. They've got a grill for yakitori and stellar sushi. I figured this Surf & Turf for $75 was going to blow our minds. I'm going to take some blame here. We ordered the steak Rare, and it can be a challenge for a kitchen to make a perfect rare Ribeye that gets the crust and fat hot enough to melt in your mouth while simultaneously keeping the center red and tender. But I truly believed this place could do it for all the other options they have on the menu. Ambiance: The lighting is cool. Pretty goth style chandelier candelabras. The tables and decor are simple. I love how the left side of the door is like a cute dark date spot and the right side is more brightly lit and you can look into the kitchen and see the masters at work. I'll definitely be returning because there was so much to enjoy and I need to grab pictures for my review update! but I won't be grabbing the Steak & Lobster next time.

Food was fresh - I enjoyed it (although whatever they put on the broccoli was super salty)Hubs didn't care for it. He's basic & doesn't do raw anything - he wanted a bento box, which they didn't have therefore he did not leave full or happy. I would go back to try other menu options, but not with the hubs/only with someone who appreciates sushi.

Service was fantastic. We were seated upon entering and drinks were quickly brought over. Our server approached the table and introduced himself. He remained attentive throughout our meal. Our table ordered the tuna tacos, spicy edamame and the rock for appetizers. All three were VERY good. Would not hesitate to order again. I would caution that the spicy edamame is quite spicy (we like things hot so it was a perfect level of hot). I ordered the boujie roll and it was 5 out of 5. Taste - perfection! I would go as far to say one of the best rolls I have ever had - anywhere. Although the restaurant is located in a strip mall please do not be deceived. The interior is up to date and is very clean. A wonderful place to take a date or friends.

First of all this is not a sushi spot. They serve some sushi, they do not have a dedicated sushi bar or sushi menu. It's juts a page in their regular menu not alot of choices. As for being a Japanese restaurant. . .they don't usually serve tacos and burgers. . . Food was pretty bad. Lots of sauces that are VERY heavy on the Mayo. Ordered some mixed tempura, it was shrimp, Serrano peppers and asparagus the last two being very odd choices for tempura. We are sushi eaters, we just weren't ready for mayo and serano peppers with cilantro sauce on our sushi rolls. I did decide to get some truffle fries on the side. Sadly the fries were plan with a side of truffle aioli Stop with the damn MAYO already!!

My friend and I had reservations for 6pm on a Wednesday night. We wanted to try a non-AYCE sushi restaurant. We arrived a little early, promptly seated and were informed that happy hour was until 6pm. We ended up ordering from the Happy Hour menu. Everything was delicious. Fish were fresh. Portions were just right. The only thing we ordered which was not in the happy hour menu was the dessert - the churros with green tea ice cream was okay. Our server was nice and friendly, was easy to find and checked on us regularly. Ambiance - good size and tables arranged not too close to each other. It is well-lit. It was not too crowded when we were there, thus, was not loud. Dining area and restroom were both clean. A bit pricey if ordering from the regular menu. Reservations through Yelp available. There is a parking lot in the strip mall.
