I have complaints. Just kidding - my "complaint" would be that the burrito, that was approximately the size of a regulation NFL football, was served on a tiny plate - no chance of eating it without making a giant mess, so I had to ask for a second plate. The restaurant is located off the lobby of the hotel, overall nice and clean ambiance. McKenna was our server, and no matter how hard we tried we could not annoy her - she was awesome and gave us excellent service. The food was great - my giant burrito, which turned into two meals, was served with a delicious jalapeno cheese sauce which added nice spice. My wife had the Prime Rib French Dip that she devoured - she said the au jus had great flavor and you can't go wrong with steak fries. Couple our wonderful meals with some bottomless mimosas available in multiple flavors and it was an overall win. We'll definitely be back!

Last Saturday evening the two of us arrived at the restaurant to be seated at 6:45 PM. Having patronized the previous restaurant before remodeling and change of ownership, we decided to try it. We both agreed that the Beef Stroganoff sounded good. The waiter informed us that they had run out of it ten minutes earlier. He abruptly suggested that they had a $65 special from the previous night's Valentine dinner and he recommended that it was enough for two people to split. He said it was surf and turf including a 10-ounce steak. He suggested that we order dinner salads beforehand so we did. Soon a different server came and placed one plate with the entire dinner in front of the gentleman. She looked at me and asked if I was going to order. I informed her that the original waiter had told us the dinner was enough for two to split. With that, I did not intend to reach across the overcrowded cocktail-size table to try to get my share. So she took the dinner away. Then she returned with the original waiter and they both had multiple plates with minuscule single serving individual plates. One plate contained a single asparagus spear, while another had two spears. A tablespoon of mashed potatoes was on each of two more plates. The steak was halved on respective plates and the seafood was in two small cups. Then they waited for me to consolidate the servings onto fewer plates so that we had room for it all to fit on the table. The table-for-two was the size of a cocktail table. Grateful for having a dinner salad beforehand, I ate my share of the split dinner. After we finished eating, the waiter rushed back over to offer another serving of asparagus and mashed potatoes, which I declined. He said that he had spoken with the manager and was authorized to offer more food in view of the situation. Again, I politely declined because I was finished eating at that point. I'm reflecting on my disbelief that this was handled so poorly.

The experience of dining in the old hotel was fun. The ambience was nice. Food: They no longer have hash browns, but they were on the menu (the server informed us they were waiting on new menus). I had the chorizo omelette with the jalapeño cheese sauce, but the sauce didn't taste like jalapeño nor have any in/on it. It came with breakfast potatoes which were good. It was all tasty, but not great. We also had the cinnamon coffee cake - which was AMAZING! Service was friendly and ok. They seem to be "dialing it in" still. I'd love to see them get other options on the menu and tweak the food to make it better.

This review is after two visits to the restaurant: one for lunch and one for dinner. This restaurant is inside the Boulder City Hotel which was built in 1933. The reason for three stars is that while the idea of the theme of the restaurant is classy and fits perfectly within the charm of the hotel, the restaurant seems to be trying to find their groove. It would be helpful to have a podium at the door with seating instructions. Both visits appeared to be understaffed with only one server for all tables. First visit had basic cheeseburger. Second visit had Shepherd pie. Neither was something I would order again. I have heard that the Philly cheesesteak sandwich is good and will try that on the next visit. Maybe some changes to the menu, seasonal offerings or some type of unique items to bring people here for the something that would set them apart from the other restaurants in town.

Was really hoping to try their breakfast menu but sadly it ends at 10:30. Wish they served it all day. Food took a little while to come out but was worth the wait. We ended up ordering the Caleb's Sandwich, one with bacon and the other with chorizo both were really good. Came with fries and some special sauce. Totally forgot to ask what it was but paired well with the fries. The grilled cheese with bacon and the bowl of chili were just as good too. Guess we'll just have to make another trip during breakfast hours.

Restaurant 1933 is located in the Boulder Dam Hotel. We stopped in for lunch, happy to see that this hotel is a preserved land mark in Boulder City and decorated close to what you would expect many years ago. Our service was okay, it sounded like they likely had a large party going on and may have been a bit under staffed. Waitstaff helped one another so we didn't wait long for drinks, food or our bill. I ordered the chicken and waffles with hash browns. Hash browns were cold. Waffles and chicken were pre-made and tasted like it. The syrup was supposed to have a hot bite to it, I didn't taste any. Disappointed for sure. Husband had the Rueben, nothing special. It was nice sitting in this old hotel reminiscent of years past, but we'll skip this one next time we're in town.

Located in the historic Boulder City Hotel, this restaurant offers breakfast & lunch every day, from 7:00 to 2:00. On Thursday, Friday & Saturday, from 4:30 to 9:00, it's a steak house. The Mrs & I were excited to try the restaurant & weren't disappointed at all. We loved both their breakfast & dinner options. The service was excellent & quite friendly. If you happen to be in Boulder City, we recommend you stop in & see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

My hubby and I decided to visit Boulder City for a lunch date after a doctor appointment close by. We chose this restaurant and we're not disappointed. The ambiance, service and food were all up to high standards. My hubby chose a steak sandwich and I had a wrap. Both were very good and well prepared. The steak was a nice medium rare, exactly how he ordered it. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend.
