Small dog friendly hotel in Henderson, Nevada. We came here for a soccer tournament during Martin Luther king weekend so ALL the hotels on the strip were $300+ a night . We weren't prepared to pay that so a local friend of ours recommended this hotel It's across from a Hilton Garden hotel ... it's a small , older hotel but well maintained . 30 mins from the strip but the tournament was at a park nearby so the location was perfect! We were able to enjoy restaurants at Henderson downtown district . They call it the water district. We enjoyed exploring outside of the Las Vegas strip !The parking was free, there is a 24 hour restaurant inside the casino , a gas station , and close to boulder Nevada! You can't go wrong with this hotel if you will just need it to sleep! No amenities really, but. Perfect just to lay your head at night !

For those of you who know me, know I am not a fan of Vegas. So, when deciding on where to stay while visiting my favorite Vegas Yelpers, I found the Railroad Pass Hotel. This is a hidden gem located just outside of Boulder City. It opened in 1931; the Railroad Pass Casino is Nevada's longest-running casino. It has recently been remodeled and the rooms were clean and didn't smell like smoke. The staff were friendly and helpful both with check-in and checking out. We love the fact that they are so dog friendly. We didn't bring our girls this time, but I did notice that they even have a dog park which I scouted out. The beds and pillows were so soft that we immediately passed out when we lay down. The hotel is in a great spot and is right off the freeway. It is a convenient location to Las Vegas, Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and lots of nearby hiking trails. * A plus for us was a Tesla Supercharger, which was a one-minute walk from the hotel/casino exit. * Parking is Free* Three restaurants on site and one restaurant within a two-minute walk from exiting the casinoWe definitely will be back.

LISTEN TO ME!!! I don't know why they have such a low rating, I had a great stay! For reference I travel with my 2 days to most hotels just not on the strip in Las Vegas! This is an old hotel/casino, lots of history here. Are you going to get that luxury casino feel. Absolutely NO! But you are going to get the convenience of a hotel right at the casino, multiple great places to eat less than 100yds away. The only casino I know that I can come down in my pjs and fee comfortable! They also have 2 gas stations/convenient stores. Also ample parking for rvs & truckers. Hotel is dated yes but no carpet and all LVP! A god send when it comes to dogs and older hotels so they don't smell skunky even with no dogs. They have a perfect dog park too! Pricing is reasonable and the games in the casino pay out!!!

This is a cute little casino. My friend & I were headed back to Vegas from Laughlin & decided to stop in here. He was itching to gamble @ one of the tables. We hit the bathroom upon arrival to the casino & OMG someone in the ladies room took a stinky poop & had the hallway & bathroom so smelly!! It was soooooo bad I didn't think anyone had enough power to do that.Listen ladies (& men) have you ever heard of a courtesy flush?? You flush the toilet just as your dropping off the kids to reduce the stinky smell of your toxins. You can even carry poop spray in your purse. They make sprays you put in the toilet before you poop to hide the smell, they're sprays you can spray after you poop...please be kind to others. If anything do the courtesy flush!!! I can't believe the lady at the hotel check in desk, right across from the bathrooms didn't notice the odor. Casino is small. There's lots of Buffalo games which is my favorite. We were bummed to find not one table game opened. Like why??? One of the bars in the back was closed but the one near the tables was opened & seemed busy. I dropped about $40 in this casino without winning anything.....no fun!! LOLI've seen their adds for the cheap steak at their steak house & have wondered how good is the food there??? I was surprised to see a new hotel built right next to this place. That must of upset the owners but this new hotel has a horrible view....The Railroad pass is what you will see out your window if you get rooms that face Railroad. Seemed too tight of a place to add another hotel on the property. I had gone to the players card station to get a card & there was a lady standing there who told me that the employee was over in the casino paying a cash out. So guess they have more then once job. I stood there for a couple of minutes then decided I didn't' want to wait any longer for one and played without it. This casino doesn't give out change on your winning tickets like the other casinos in Vegas don't do anymore since COVID so I went to the cashier's counter. Girl was nice & friendly. Was a short wait. I may have to come here again/stop by to play some Buffalo!!

This restaurant is perfect for those traveling in the road and want to stop for a quick bite to eat. You can also find some locals eating there with their families as well. This place had been opened since 1931. They have some pictures around the restaurant, it's pretty cool to see how it had changed over the years. They do not have to many options for allergies food, like gluten free bread but my nephew was able to substitute the bread with the tomato and lettuce. He was a happy camper after all.

First of all, I should say that I have lived here for almost 25 years and never bothered with gambling at the casinos. About a year ago I was introduced to Railroad Pass Casino and I actually enjoyed playing the slots, video poker, etc. The reason is that the staff are friendly (still true), the points and comps were great (no longer true) and I could bring my little dog with me to the casino and even to the cafe (as of today, also no longer true). Last month, the points multiplier days went away and the "spin" wheel was "updated" and doesn't give much away anymore. Then today, I went to the cafe and was told that my dog was no longer welcome. For those of you who like table games, they are gone as well. We left the restaurant and the casino immediately. I am so glad I didn't play any slots or video poker before I went to the cafe and learned about the "new policy". We left immediately and I probably won't be going back too much anymore after this. Sadly, I have been telling my friends how customer friendly this place is, but now I have to tell them "nevermind". Other casinos are nicer inside and have better smoke management systems. I guess all the changes are because the owners are building too many new properties and have to make up all the money somehow, but to do this to your loyal customers is terrible. The friend who introduced me to Railroad Pass has been going there for years... he won't be going much anymore either. I am so sad about these changes, but my pocketbook will be happy that I am going back to my no gambling policy. PS The staff are still friendly and if I go back at all, it will be to see them.

Yes. You read that right. 5 stars. I can't believe I'm giving it 5, but I took the last 10 days traveling through Utah and enjoying the hidden beauty of that state. On my way back to my Queen and the kiddos, I decided to break up the trip. The place I wanted was booked, and I noticed this was close to the Hoover Dam, close to the Railroad Pass Train, which goes through seven tunnels. In addition, it had prime rib and steak and eggs. Now, I'm from San Diego. My wife is a tad hoitie toitie and we typically stay somewhere....fancier, however it was just me, and I grew up in the sticks in Wisconsin. I like a good bargain, and I found it online for 42 bucks a night. Granted, it was Tues-Thurs, but still, a deal. No drunk Vegas people, no crowds, and close to one of our National Treasures. The room was...interesting. Everything is being renovated. Mine wasn't renovated, so if you like the 80's, it'll be your jam. Shower was hot, bed and pillows, surprisingly comfortable. TV had a ton of channels. AC Cold. The 42 bucks didn't earn the five star review. Nor did the location. The people did. Charles (if I remember right. Black dude, contagious attitude) in the kitchen at Ironside started my day off right. He brought the food out himself (some chefs/cooks are "above" that) was smiling, genuinely nice, funny, and at 5:40 in the morning I was ready to work (the Wi-Fi is really good) and in a great mood. The guy got my day off to a great start. After the Dam and tunnel hike, I forget the waitresses name working the bar, but she hooked me up with a great recommendation of the prime rib and mashed potatoes. Excellent service, genuinely kind, and it kept my day going great. Oh and the carrot cake. OMFG. Ridiculous. Carrots, raisins, nuts. I texted my son that it was the best I've ever had. That good. And finally, the front desk guy Jared. Nice guy, helpful, once again genuinely nice dude. Gave me some good recommendations, and I gave him a new trail to hike. So that's it. My much needed trip ends with a 5 star review. To whoever's running the show, good hires.

Wanted to acknowledge the excellent service by Alyssa and Mike while dining in the Iron Rail Cafe. You could tell they know their jobs and, more so, enjoy what they do. Customer service is so important in the food industry and these 2 certainly know their trade.I left my number to have their manager (Debbie) call me so I could express my feelings directly to her but as of now I have heard nothing back. Sometimes management needs to be given a refresher in good customer service.Keep up the good efforts Alyssa and Mike
