The food rules supreme, and service....well, that comes secondary.I'm not sure why the best Caribbean restaurants have the most questionable service, but I can say the food is exquisite, no question there! I feel like every time I come here whether I dine in or decide to take a to-go order, I get someone with an attitude, brash, quick interaction, nothing inviting. One lady was argumentative when I asked if I could add Cocoa bread to my order. The only reason why I keep coming back is solely the food, and the Jamaican rum. Other Caribbean restaurants here in las Vegas DO NOT COMPARE to the authentic cuisine here. The flavors and spices are on point, the portions are large and worth the money, because the prices are a tad bit high, the presentation is always executed beautifully, and the drinks stiff baby!

Still one of my favorite go to place for oxtails in LV. I feel like since they moved locations the oxtails aren't as spicy (hehe minor but the styrofoam plates hit different ) portions are still nice size I eat on it for 2 daysThis place is worth the try happy to see them upgrading and elevating not only with the plastic containers , new location, bar area, live music, different events on certain nights, lunch specials, and good service I don't mind spending 30.00 on my plate of good eats If you're craving oxtail, or curry, beef patties definitely give them a try

I came here on Tuesday 9th July to give this place a try, and what a bad decision I made. I held this review, as I've been busy traveling, but I kept my notes in draft.I'm from London, but both of my parents were Jamaican, so I grew up in a Jamaican household & eat Jamaican food all the time.I used to live in Las Vegas, and there was only one jamaican restaurant around, so I was excited to try this place when I came into town. I ordered the jerk chicken, rice & peas with a side of plantain & veg.They had a music open mic night, so I was catching a vibe while waiting for my food to come. When the food came, I was eating the chicken and struggling, so that was not good. I added some hot sauce to see if that would help, but stopped half way - I think the mom came up and asked if I was finished, and I said no I'm just taking a break, but really I've never taken a break when eating yard food, so that was a red flag.I came back to my hotel and within an hour my belly was running (bad) so I had a terrible evening, and I blame the food there - I've done intermittent fasting for the last 12 months, so don't eat until after 4pm and most days it's one main meal a day, and snack the night - as I wanted the Jamaican meal, I held off eating, and that was my first meal at 7pmThe next day I called back to the restaurant & said can I speak to the owner, and the lady who answered said the owner is not around, but she's the chef so I should speak with her.I explained my story and she starts cussing saying there is no way the chicken run my belly and I'm lying that I do intermittent fasting - due to my Jamaican heritage, I didn't get triggered by her raising her voice or talking over me, and told her 'do better' I couldn't have got it from anywhere else ... unless it was the veg, rice or plantain, but that dinner I had gave me diarrhea for most of the night.I tried to reason with her, but the chef ended up hanging up the phone, so it didn't go further. I didn't call back, but it's a shame, I would never eat there again & trust the food.

TLDR:Good food, albeit a bit pricey for the portions. Despite that, the flavors were definitely on-point! This is a winner!The Whole Story:I was in town for a conference and was looking for some good food away from the conference scene. I love Jamaican food so I found this place and decided to give it a try. Its recently relocated from a few blocks away into its current located in a strip shopping center. The rest of the businesses are not populated so parking was plentiful and easy. I parked right in front of the door. The space is very spacious and clean and is set up for other events or to accommodate large parties. It took a few minutes for the waitress to come and take my order, which was surprising as there were very few people in the restaurant. I ordered the jerk chicken (my go to dish), rice and peas and vegetables and it came with jerk gravy on the side! This was a treat because I am accustomed to most places giving your oxtail or brown stew gravy. With this wonderfully spicy jerk gravy, I could kick up the heat and flavor as much as I wanted. The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist and the rice and peas were a little under seasoned but that delicious jerk gravy took care of that nicely! I finished the meal with the rum cake with rum raisin ice cream. This was a great combination, as the cake was a bit dry and lacked the flavor, moistness and fruitiness of true black cake but was decent. Its kind of rare to see it on the menu of most Jamaican restaurants as usually a holiday or special occasion dessert. The ice cream paired well with it. I would like to try some of the other dishes but the prices are a bit prohibitive for the portion sizes. I know this is Vegas, but come on now!{Happy Food Coma Activated!}

I've been to their previous location on Flamingo and Rainbow at the same shopping center as Sprouts. This was probably about 8 years ago, and I think they moved to this location on Sahara and Rainbow about the same time. This place is definitely more spacious than the previous space since this includes an area for live entertainment, dancing, and a full bar. We arrived on a Saturday around 5:30pm. There was 1 or 2 other groups, but the place was empty for the most part. I've noticed that most places sit pretty empty between 5-6 and starts getting busy after 7pm. Anyway, the hostess was our server. She was nice and explained this on the menu well when we had questions. We ordered oxtails and jerk chicken plates. Both come in big portions. The jerk chicken came with a brown sauce on the side, which consists of a combination of sweet, spicy, and savory. The sauce had a good amount of kick to it. The jerk chicken itself was well flavored and blackened with all the good seasonings. Includes large portions of chicken drumsticks and breasts. Comes with a side of cooked vegetables and rice and beans. The chicken tasted great with and without the brown sauce on the side. The oxtails were exactly how I remember it from their previous location. It's fall off the bone tender and perfectly sauced in brown sauce. There was a good amount of brown sauce with the oxtails, which was fantastic. The sauce was savory and rich, and I absolutely loved it. Comes with rice and beans and cooked vegetables. Overall, we really enjoyed this spot and will come here again.

Saw raving reviews online so wanted to check this place out. First impressions: dining area is clean. Music is jamming, live stream video of Kingston Harbor. Dining area is bright and clean and decor is colorful and fun. We were the only people dining on a Monday night. Short and sweet: prices are high (recent increase based on review of older menu photo uploaded), service is transactional. Do not expect warm and bubbly, but a quick interaction to get your food.Food is plated nicely and neatly, complete with decorative orchid. The whole plate was piping hot, plate included -- take from that what you will. Food itself was fine/tasty, but I don't know about $25-35 for an entree of chicken or oxtail. Taking that all into consideration, it was a fair one time visit, but I do not anticipate I will be a return guest.

I came across this restaurant on a tiktok as a must try. I visited on a Tuesday for lunch time and it was empty. The space is nice, clean, and they have different events in the evening during the week.In terms of the service, the food came out fairly quick. Unfortunately, she did not state they only have certain menu options until we attempted to order it. Which is frustrating as she is standing right over us taking the order.In terms of the dishes, the oxtail was good. It was fall of the bone. The rice and beans were a bit dry but nothing a bit of sauce can't make rightThe plantains were not good. They were not sweet, the bananas used were not ripe enough and they lacked flavor.My friend's had the curry which they stated was good.In terms of price, it is pricey for vegas and on tiktok it seemed like big portions but not necessarily when we visited.I think I would visit again if I was craving it since I do not know of many in the area. But it would definitely be to go

Since I was craving some Jamaican cuisine, I came across this gem online. It had decent reviews so decided to give it a try. I called in my order which was combo with oxtail and curry chicken(it came with rice and cabbage) and ordered side of fried plantains. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was impressed by the ambiance and how spacious it was. The decor was on point and the restaurant appeared very lively. It didn't seem busy at all for a Sunday night but it looks like the restaurant has alot of events/different themes nightly. I was immediately greeted at the door and my food was given. I got home and tried the food and it was delicious! The oxtails were my favorite as it was tender, nicely seasoned in the broth and overall just the right combination of flavors. I will be ordering this again. The curry chicken was tender and appropriately seasoned. I think I will try their jerk chicken next time. Overall this place is a must try. I would say the only con is the price. It is a bit pricey for the portions and I wished the side of plantains came automatically with the meal instead of being charged separately for it. That's what I'm used to. I will definitely be back to dine in and give the other items on the menu a try.

Let me start off by saying we went here of course before they were closing and I ordered two oxtail dinners not knowing there was a difference in sizes. Of course the woman gives us the largest portions. By the way my bill was $75 and I should actually do a Dispute on my credit card not to mention the food was so salty that I had a headache the entire day the next day I would never recommend or go to this place ever again not to mention the rice was so soggy the cabbage. I guess it was cabbage was so oily. It was the worst oxtail dinner I ever had I would never ever ever ever go here again and I suggest you any other people choose wisely.

I ordered this from Postmates. The flavor of the Curry Chicken is soo good but it has lots of small bone fragments in the sauce. I wanted to share with my toddler but it was hard because of all of the tiny pieces of bones shards within the sauce. Any rice that had sauce on it, had bones so she couldn't eat the rice because they were so small and hidden. The cabbage didn't have flavor, the rice and peas were ok.I also ordered jerk chicken and it came really black. I've been to Jamaica many times and haven't had it like that before, maybe that's how it's supposed to be, it's just not for me. it gave it a weird beef jerky flavor. It's also very pricey so I do not feel like it lived up to the price.
