My nine year old grandson had a really good time. Go for the earliest train ride if you want to sit outside. Inside has A/C.The trains in the afternoon don't run if it's over 105.

My husband and i went to visit on a saturday, we bought the tickets there for the noon train ride. The train in display were so cool and so was the mail train, one of the displays has a train display inside and its amazing they run the train and tell yo uthe story. It gets hot so drink plenty of water, the trains can get hot, the rise is not too long but its so cool to ride in a train full of history. We chose the regular ac train, they have a story time one for kids too and cool little gift shop. Great place to visit and see the amazing history of the railways.

If you are thinking about doing the North Pole Experience..skip it. It was my kids first time doing something like this (3.5 and 6.5). My kids were crying on the train because they expected us to drive somewhere and get off and have a little North Pole Experience, as advertised. We also expected cookies and hot cocoa while on the train, as the movie does. The train drove you up and back in 30 minutes and then you were let off in the train yard where you loaded and for a cheap cookie and crappy hot cocoa. They also some cheap yard games set up and not the magical experience of snow ball fights and snow the website advertised. This was a HUGE disappointment and waste of over $200!!! Hope someone reads this and saves their kids from being as disappointed as ours were.

It was a nice experience. The kids enjoyed it. All of the staff were nice. I just would have liked the train ride to be a bit longer.

We loved this place. It isn't big, but it was fun. It has a cool model railroad shack and displays about the history of railroads in this area. There is also a fun little out and back ride on railroads cars with some great views on the nearby desert.

This is one of the Jewels in the Vegas valley. If you are looking for a unique experience and want to learn about some history around the building of the Hoover dam and the extensive railway history in Nevada, may I suggest paying the Nevada Southern Railway museum visit. They have daily train rides in refurbished cars from back in the day and even have special holiday rides during Christmas, Halloween and Easter. They have different static displays to check out to include a miniature railroad. I can tell you I have been there a few times and yet to see it all. The museum is operated by a great group of volunteers who are friendly and enjoy answering any questions. My suggestion is to visit their website at www.nevadasouthern.com for all of their offerings Ultimately, if your looking for a way to get away from the city for a while, may I suggest a stop here to check out some really cool history

Located in peaceful Boulder Nv. Had a great time looking around this old town where construction took place of Hoover Dam. Looking at old trains and taking a train ride was fantastic. Plenty of places to eat in downtown Boulder and very close to Hoover Dam. There is also a fantastic bike trail their where you can bike until the wheels fall off.
