Mr Shota is one of my favorite AYCE sushi places in Vegas, especially in the South West side. The service is pretty fast to the point where you may even get your food faster than your drinks. The portion of the food is also pretty good because they don't bulk up your nigiri with a large amount of rice.This used to have a bunch of anime decor on the wall, but they switched it to a more modern/traditional feel with the black and wood.As far as AYCE selection, I'd always say to try any of the dishes where you're limited to only one. That is usually a sign that it is something premium or something that is really good. You don't have to order so much unless you're that hungry, because the service is usually pretty fast and you get your food almost instantly.My go to is always a combination of nigiri's such as mackerel, escolar, salmon belly, ama ebi, squid, etc. That with soy sauce and wasabi and I'm a happy customer. I usually order any spicy roll as well just to add some other flavors onto the table. Overall, Mr Shota is pretty similar to a majority of AYCE sushi places, but what makes this place stick out more to me is the fast service in which you order your food.

Randomly discovered this gem a couple days ago and ordered for pick up. We ordered a luffy roll, nekuzo roll, tiger roll, and a California. They were all soooo tasty!! This is our new spot, which fortunately is right next to the place we used to go, IT'S Sushi.10/10, highly recommend.

Ambiance - neighborhood gem. Plenty of parking. Well- lit and clean.Service - fast and friendlyFood - we opted for the all you can eat sushi for $29.95 each. We ordered so much in a span of an hour. Our favorites were the salmon and yellow tail carpaccios, baked green mussels, seafood salad, baked lobster roll, dynamite, short rib kalbi ( so tender), beef bulgogi and their dessert ice creams. Everything was delicious and fresh. For three people, our final bill was $120, inclusive of tax and tip.

One of the best AYCE sushi places I have been to. Lots of great variety and amazing quality of seafood. The waitress, Kali told us that seafood is fresh everyday. She was very sweet and friendly to us. She gave us a lot of recommendations on what to try and best dishes. I loved the seared salmon, salmon kama, ama ebi. The pang appetizer was really tasty and it was a garlic bread with crab, shrimp, and some type of sauce on there. Prices were $29 a person and we found out that after 9pm it's $23 a person. We loved the specials and unique nigiri. Everything tasted amazing! The restaurant has a lot of seating but can get busy during dinner. All the staff were friendly and greeted us nicely.

Yikes. This place is a disgrace to the world of sushi. The service was good, but the RICE IS HORRENDOUS. They do not make it right. I couldn't eat the rice and got charged for wasting food. Parking is easy in their parking lot that is shared with other businesses in this shopping plaza. All day price is $29.95 per person. Not bad..but I don't recommend getting the rolls here. They have a special lower price for late night eating starting at 9 PM.

I came here this past Sunday around 9 pm. Upon entering, we approached the host stand where the hostess just stared at us. She didn't even greet us or ask how many people we needed a table for. She was waiting for us to say something first I guess. After we explained what we were doing there, she led us to a table in the corner. It was semi private which is nice I guess, until the servers start forgetting to frequent your area (foreshadowing). The decor inside made it feel like I was in a little sushi shop in Japan. We opted to do the all you can eat option which is around $30 per person. We started with a bunch of nigiri. There were a few options that you could only order "one time" such as salmon belly and ebi, however it was unclear if there was a limit on how many pieces. The menu was also unclear when it came to certain pieces. For example, there was no description as to what "sexy salmon" is so you would have no idea what's on it unless you asked. The fish was decent and the fish to rice ratio was spectacular. I've been to AYCE places that try to get you full off the rice so you don't eat as much fish. After the first round of mostly nigiri, we wanted to order more but the server didn't come around our area often. She would often be hanging out with the hostess and then disappearing. I almost went up to go track someone down. We had to flag some other worker down to get our server. We tried other dishes like the lemon salmon roll, the tuna and yellowtail carpaccio, and some crispy wonton topped with assorted fish. The roll was really enjoyable because it wasn't heavy on the rice. I've had better carpaccio. The servers often brought out stuff that we didn't order and when something looked unfamiliar we had to keep explaining that we didn't order it.You can order ice cream for dessert but it's only one per person. It comes out prepackaged. We got the Thai tea and matcha green tea flavors. They were frozen solid so we had to wait for them to melt a bit, but they were delicious!Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. The service wasn't good and the food was just decent.

Experience here NEVER fails!! The service is always fast and professional! Today's server was Cory and he was great! The food quality was excellent! Didn't take pictures of everything, but We finally tried other things on the menu upon the normal items we always order! MUST try place in Vegas!! Brought my nephew for his first time, his food was "really good and tasty". They had everything he wanted and then some.
