Thank you for dirty coaster and someone's hair
Royal flush in the 11:05 tourney. Fantastic to see, and everyone stood up to clap.

I haven't played cash games here in years but always play a few tournaments when I'm in Vegas in the summer. MGM Grand does a good job running tournaments that are smaller than the WSOP. The structures are good and the staff is pretty good. Some of the dealers are pretty frustrated when I play here for some reason which can get a bit annoying.

Pretty basic poker room without a lot of ambiance but fun small stakes tournaments with rebuys and add-one that give interesting strategic twists. Fast 15 minute levels and rapidly rising blinds make things move fast. Generally there are a few 1-2 cash tables but no higher stakes.

Normally, they only have 1/2 running and 2/5 runs infrequently, so if you play higher stakes, you'll have to look elsewhere. It's also not a proper poker "room", more like a sectioned off area of the main casino to be used for poker tables. The games here are highly variable. Some games play incredibly tight and short stacked, with players nursing $100 like it's their last dollars, while other games play splashy, with someone going all-in almost every hand. They also have promotions that may influence the flow and dynamic of the games. You may have to table change several times before finding a decent game.

I actually like the MGM poker room. Everyone was fairly nice and remembered my name and played along with my antics. It is a little slow sometimes but I was also there during the week, maybe it gets bigger and draws more crowds on the weekends. The dealers were fairly quick, they kept the game moving, and they also kept control of the game. Many daily tournaments and for a reasonable prices and good starting chip amounts. There were two dealers that were a little short and didn't take the time to explain a few things to one player and I thought it was a little rude he just got up and ignored him. Maybe he was having a bad day, the player wasn't being mean just trying to share his side of the story. But nothing against me and if it was I would have told the floor. Again, comfortable chairs, clean atmosphere and a decent game. I will be back.

Dealers constantly made mistakes. Tournaments caused the pick up games to lack sufficient dealers. Temp dealers didn't know the rules and caused me to miss to big pots. Won't be back!

Seems like a decent spot but had a dealer named Glenn who had no clue what he was doing and cost me half my tournament stack because he didn't understand the rules. Definitely play at the 12 better poker rooms in the strip

Had a nice time my first time out gambling. Came out for my birthday. The waitresss are super rude. Free drinks all night and plenty of Starbucks lol. I used the atm and was immediately scammed by a charge from a different state. Only down side cash out with the cashier only

The poker room at the MGM Grand is pretty deep inside the casino, hidden further from view than the table games and slot machines that make the house more money. But seek it out - if you're looking to gamble and like a slower bleed than Black Jack, the $1/$2 tables are great. The room is not the biggest I've seen, but it's fairly nice and you get seated pretty fast. The dealers are friendly and professional, and you get free drinks while you gamble. I've only played in the MGM once, but I think I'll try and come back on future visits to Vegas.I'd heard beforehand that the MGM poker room was easy money, and the softness of my table didn't contradict that description. We were playing nine-handed, and five of the players had no idea what they were doing, while the rest were so tight that you could just fold any time they made a move. It was actually pretty boring, but I won almost every hand I got involved in, with one fold to an A9 that hit his two pair on the river. I'm no poker guru, and would lose to a lot of the $1/$2 grinders that occupy various Vegas poker rooms. I didn't see any of that type at my table.Until I come back to the MGM poker room and lose some big hands, I will have a rosy view of the place. I've also heard that it's a goldmine late at night, since it's close to a club. I love poker but hate losing, so I hope this place is nice to me when I come back.

I liked the old poker room better. The new 'room' feels like an afterthought. Friendly, courteous & professional staff. 2 daily poker tournaments.
