Caught this show after a trying day dealing with the immense paperwork involved in getting my loan modified with my mortgage lender. This is a show at the Riviera (let's not go into how crappy this hotel is here) where a single kick ass band backs four "Masters of Rock" imitators. Specifically Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Joan Jett, Robert Plant of Led Zepplin, and Ozzy. The guy doing Vince Neil knocked it out of the park, he was the best of the four. Joan Jett was decent because she did some of the Runaways tunes in addition to her Blackhearts stuff. The Robert Plant guy distracted me with his way too tight jeans and his platform shoes. The Ozzy guy was plain crazy, he got Ozzy's mannerisms and personality down way too perfectly. This show for the band alone is worth every cent, I actually want to go back if they decide to change any of the "Masters of Rock" characters. The band is so talented it made me want to go out and buy albums for artists I never liked in the 80's, including Motley Crue. Seriously, I'm going to download "Looks that Kill" and "Shout at the Devil" on my ipod today. The theater was totally dead there, but this is the Riviera where they can't even provide valet service or keep their buffet open. It would be a shame for this show not to do well, so please go see it if you loved the music from that era.

From a musicians point of view its a lot of fun to see the house band and their talent. The band looked a bit grungy or alt but in the end you have to respect their tab studies and how they got the music right. I was caught off guard with the girls dancing I know it's vegas and everything but really appreciated their work ethic and being totally hot and coordinated to this style of music. Nice touch. Ok, the impersinators...The Vince Neil did a great job and was a lot of fun. He could easily do David Lee Roth with his range and tone. The Joan Jett lady was really cool and had that Joan Jett twinkle in her eye but I could tell she had that nashville rock in her voice but really nice set. I am not a fan of Led Zepplin but OMG that guy is a master student of Robert Plant. I am a professionally trained vocalist and really never noticed how hard it was to sing that music. He is a great vocalist but I never knew that until I saw someone nail his parts and could see how hard that really is. Great job Zep dude that was amazing. I liked everything and Ozzy was another surprise on how hard it would be to nail the parts. Great job Ozzy dude. Ok, back to the house band kick ass on the Ozzy stuff to all the band you guys provided a fun time while the family shopped and good clean fun is always rare in Vegas for the family guy.
