Marketplace Café - A Reliable Favorite at the California HotelThe Marketplace Café at the California Hotel is always a favorite of ours for breakfast. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, and the service is friendly--exactly what you'd expect from a classic Vegas spot with a touch of local Hawaiian hospitality. Whether it's a hearty plate of loco moco, a perfectly cooked omelet, or their signature Portuguese sausage and eggs, we always leave satisfied. Our only wish? That they served their famous oxtail soup in the mornings! We've heard great things about it, but since it's only available at night, we never get the chance to enjoy it. It would be a game-changer to have it as a breakfast or even brunch option.Overall, the Marketplace Café remains a solid go-to for a comforting, delicious meal in Downtown Vegas. We'll definitely be back--just still dreaming of that oxtail soup at sunrise!

$20.99 for a 3 course Prime rib meal is a steal! While our order was incorrect (I ordered fries, got baked potato and ordered Italian dressing, got ranch), the food was great for the price we paid.

We come every time for the famous Oxtail soup. We did come a little too early a few night back, and since we were already seated we grabbed a few things. Won ton mein was super tasty and I would definitely reccomend that. Oxtail soup is only sold 11p-6a. And boy does the line get long.

Totally love their oxtail soup and it makes me feel home during this holiday seasons. Even though the line was so long but it's so worth it.The important NOTE is that oxtail soup only serve from 11 pm to 6 am even though the restaurant is open 24 hours. This restaurant located inside the California hotel in the downtown. It's clean restaurant but the service is just ok. Maybe because it's late hours. But definitely bring the Indonesian and Hawaiian taste to your plate!!

The only reason why we come here is because it's opened late and our Vacations Hawaii coupons are valid here. I think this is going to be our last time eating here, though. I don't care if it's included in the package anymore... the food is just awful... it's almost like the cook doesn't even care about the taste anymore. We had the loco moco and the patty was super raw. We didn't bother telling the server. The portions are big here but I'm more for quality than quantity. The oxtail soup is okay but they come out lukewarm warm and the rice is like the lowest quality. We waited so long since the line was down by the other restaurant when we arrived. The server was great but the water guy spilled iced tea on my husbands Jordan's and didn't say anything. It's like this place lost its spark from back in the day which is sad. I used to look forward to coming here but not anymore.

Market Street Cafe is located in the California Casino and Hotel. Service is always friendly and efficient. The cafe is open 24/7 and has a tropical theme.Food is good. I go for their prime rib special which is reasonably priced for what you get. It includes soup or salad, prime rib with vegetable and potato, and cherries jubilee. Another must try is the oxtail soup which includes the soup, rice, ginger and cilantro condiments. Beware it is only served between 11pm and 6am, not a typo. However, it is definitely worth the odd hours. Try the Market Street Cafe, you won't be disappointed.

I ordered a cheeseburger with sourdough bread for the buns and it was so so good. My aunt and uncle both got the ribeye with mashed potatoes and said it was pretty good! The line was pretty long, but everyone was waiting for the ox tail soup! I will have to try it next time, it must be worth the wait.

Market Street Café is a go to place for Hawai'i Islanders when you stay in downtown Las Vegas California Hotel & Casino and Main Street Hotel & Casino. If you're fortunate to receive Aloha Coupons during your stay, you will definitely visit this location. If not, prices are reasonable here. Always a line to get in unless you go during off hours. But if they have a special available such as Oxtail Soup, be prepared to wait in a line lol. Great smiling service here. Hard workers who will provide service to you as best they can, considering the numbers of tables the servers are assigned to cover. Service Overall: 4/5 stars The Cafe is well lit and tables are mostly well spaced apart. Handicap Accessible Cafe and restrooms are located just outside of the Cafe. Ambiance Overall: 3.5/5 starsFood is general fare. Sometimes too salty, sometimes just right and specials are generally a good pick here. Overall: 3.5/5 stars. Enjoy.

Amazing meal for a great price. The oxtail soup was tender, salty, and delicious. Ribeye was huge and perfectly cooked. We went around 11pm, but they do a prime rib special till 10pm which looked amazing. (Prime rib + soup/salad + side for $20) Would definitely come back for it.Service was great even with a packed house. You pay on the way out which was convenient.Only downside was a longer line to get in, but totally worth the wait.
