Las Vegas Farmers Market

I've always enjoyed visiting and supporting local farmers markets. Here you'll find a myriad of different eggs, jams, produce, bake goods and honey. After shopping you can visit the animal farm ($10.00 entrance fee), located in the rear of the market. There you'll find an array of animals from Cows, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, goats, llamas and much more. There are over 100 animals on site and food is available for purchase should you want to feed them. This is a fantastic family day outing and a place that children will enjoy. A word of caution, you are walking on dirt and some animals do run freely around the market, so, I wouldn't wear shoes you don't want to get dirty.

This Farmer's Market is very tiny. 10 minutes and you're done. There are vendors that sell coffee beans, honey, jams, jellies, nuts, pens, soaps, fruits, veggies and Italian ice. Great Harvest was there with loaves of bread. I didn't find anything to buy that I could use. The only thing that would make me go back here again is the Rika food truck. You could skip paying the $6 entrance fee if you come here.

Was so excited for the strawberry festival farmers market here as it was advertised for strawberry themed foods, and strawberries. Got here at 12noon. This was totally unorganized as traffic was a mess, look 30 minutes to get in and out. Once in, parking was a mess. Once finally to the booths, there were no strawberry themed booths. There was a fondue booth, all sold out and food trucks out of food. Only strawberry theme was on the funnel cake booth which was a mile long. No strawberry themed items or trinkets to buy. No strawberry clothing, or ice cream. No fresh strawberries, albeit i saw the small table that used to have them as it was juice stained. Also, to the promoters facebook page, us of the public were commenting and giving a heads up to others and the promoters kept deleting the posts. Talking and listening to others in the crowd we were asking each other where is the strawberry theme? A lot of us were dissapointed. This was not like strawberry festivals we are used to in california where there is an actual strawberry theme. Now if you wanted a fun family time with bounce houses and rock climbing wall this is perfect. The normal honey stand was there too. But overall it was an extra long day for a normal farmers market.

Went to the farmers market today as it was suppose be "the strawberry festival" I saw nothing other than a normal farmers market with music and maybe some additional activities for kids. Strawberries were sold out. There were no strawberry themed booths, or items that I could see. Furthermore it took at least 15 minutes to get into the park due to long lines.I will say there was maybe 1 or 2 farmers and a total of maybe 20 pop up tents, most of which were prepared food, if thats what your into. Im from California and have higher expectations for farmers markets than most people in vegas. So afterward I went to gilcrease orchard, and picked my own fresh beets from the ground. IMO most of the produce here is grown in California, and not much different than if you went to a grocery store to purchase.

I don't even know where to start. I guess it starts from another social media website. A friend had liked their page and so I started following the page out of curiosity and quickly became intrigued.Let me tell you folks, advertising works and will make a sucker out of each and everyone of us at least once in our lives.Las Vegas Farmers Market made me the biggest sucker. I had called my mother in law and told her I was going to this nice Farmers Market and that they were going to have our favorite available (Cheddar Cauliflower). So we drove Sam Boyd Stadium all the way to Floyd Lamb Park to attend this Farmers Market that I just could not wait to go to!We get there and they had a total of 6 booths. And not even all food booths. They had one veggie and fruit stand out of the six and the rest were, well who cares. They were not fruit and veggie stands.The fruit and veggie booth they had was from California. Me, I think Farmers Market and I think local. California is not so local. Most of their stuff looked wilted and not so fresh either. My mother in law scored some Swiss Chard for $2.00 a bundle so she was excited about that. As I walked amongst the other 5 booths of honey, beef jerky, jewelry, scarves, Windsor farms, I just felt so disappointed.Granted it was January. But they made me believe they would have more. Why not be honest and say there are a limited number of booths? And they did not even had the cauliflower I was looking for. I am so disgusted just thinking about it and it is hard for me to write this review. I mean if anyone ever told me they were thinking about going, I would instead tell them to go to their local grocery store or another Farmers Market. I sit here shaking my head in disgust, thinking I wasted a beautiful Saturday morning dragging my family all the way across town for an utter disappointment.

I go to a lot of farmers markets, and this is the smallest one I've seen. There's usually a few vendors with great prices on produce, so it can be an affordable trip to stock up on quality fruits and veggies. At some of the other markets, I spend $10 and leave with a cherimoya and a passion fruit.I love walking around Floyd Lamb Park, so free park admission during the market is incentive enough for me to attend. Rika Arepa Express food truck is usually a vendor, and I will definitely drive ten minutes from my house for their tasty Venezuelan fare. Frankly Good Coffee, Great Harvest Breads, and Whoa! Toffee are other vendors of note. Most of the booths offer samples of their products. Most of the vendors accept debit/credit, but it's best to bring cash.This market takes place from 10am to 2pm on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Of the Las Vegas Farmers Markets held around town, this is the only one that doesn't conflict with my work schedule, so I can't compare it to their other events. Overall, this is the only farmers market held in a picturesque park full of peacocks (and history!), and that's enough to make me go back. I wouldn't drive here if I lived far away.

What is there not to like? You are taking a scenic drive (unless you live close by) from the city, and you see free-roaming peacocks all around. The best part: you get into the park FREE when you visit during the farmers market hours. There are about 20 vendors, which is good because you don't want to be overwhelmed by too many vendors. It's a great time for family and friends to make a little drive out and taste test some samples and buy some homemade treats and fresh produce. And when you are done, you're free to explore the park! What more can you ask for in life...

Haven't been there in quite a while, but attended today and thought it was great. They had a country band, a beer area and lots of vendors. Purchased a great vegan burrito, some nuts and spices. They had vendors for jewelry, pastries, vegetables, fruits, fruit drinks, honey, soups, and several food trucks.

Not a lot of booths- but honey is amazing and they have a humus booth now which is yummy along with 2 booths of fruit/veggies. If you are close to centennial hills it's worth a visit.
