La Islena Market

La Islena has saved me and the hubby many times when last minute guests show up and we need to wow them with a meal...tacos for the save! And La Islena's well-flavored carne asada preparada for the win. We love dropping in to pick up a few pounds or carne asada along with their chips, amazing fresh salsas and some rice and beans. The easiest ever! They also have many produce options which saves us from an extra trip to another market. Anytime we have served our guests meals made from La Islena's preparedIngredients, we have received rave reviews. In fact, guests often request a taco day at the house when they return for another visit. I think that says a lot when we live in Vegas and there are so many options for great restaurants and eateries.

You want a good butcher with quality meat, cheese, eggs, this is the spot the prices just don't make sense. We go here every week are never disappointed, the marinades are delicious and it feels so good in my tummy unlike the grocery stuff

Low prices and quality goods and groceries. The pre-marinated carne asada is delicious and affordable. To feed 10-12 people we spent around $65 compared to our competing grocery stores I believe that was really cheap! Love this market, on the corner of smoke ranch and rainbow.

Came here based on good reviews but I was extremely disappointed , the place is not just small it's extra tiny even the isles are so small only one person can browse at a time and not to mention all the boxes of stuff that wasn't put away . Yes it is like a convenience stuff for emergency items that you might need but everything is so over priced a box of old Mexican candy (small) was $5 dollars and every other candy was so old and still expensive , bought me some candy (tamarind) rolls (serpentinas ) that I haven't had in years and since I found them I got some but when I tasted them you could tell they were expired old candy -nasty!!!The meats like fajitas and everything that has a marinade you can tell is been sitting there for a while more than it should . I guess the most decent stuff was the produce it was some how fresh but expensive as well . Long story short I won't come back here for any produce or meats except this hot sauce that I love other than that this place ain't for me .

Business hours says 8-8 even on Sunday , we arrived and workers are still inside and gave a blank stare like we were in the wrong , like I get it if you wanna close early but make it known and waste ppls time and gas

Run-down market, interior looks more like a convenience store slash bodega than a grocery, but they have all manner of cooking supplies here, including fresh produce, a great meat counter, fresh juices, more Mexican candies than you can shake a stick at, and a surprisingly extensive cosmetics section.Get the carne asada and grill at home, the chicken and beef fajitas plus some extra peppers and onions, chicken adobo legs are enormous (1/3 pound each, easily), fish ceviche is like $2/lb- can't beat that!Might want to take cash to shop here- my card wouldn't swipe at the register, my guy had to pay. Heads up, the Pollo Mobile truck is usually in the parking lot, grab groceries for later but grab dinner hot and ready from them.Side note: Yelp check in offers a dollar off rotisserie chicken, but I didn't even see any?

Tiny, crowded market. I didn't purchase anything- they didn't have what I wanted. Also, the door was left open making it even hotter & unpleasant.

Awesome market and the asada and al pastor cooked up beautifully. Our new go-to market.

Everything is fresh and authentic! The family is awesome and friendly I come here frequently.
