Jive Turkey

This was mine and my mom's first time going here and I was pleasantly surprised! I live in the neighborhood and am always annoyed by the fact there isn't a cool dive bar nearby that's fun & chill. This is definitely my fave new spot! Our bartender was Gene, who was super friendly and gave great recommendations. We came in for happy hour and the options/pricing were great! drinks were super delicious. And we also had fried green beans to snack on. We will definitely be back soon. We heard they have trivia night on Tuesdays and we def can't wait to check it out!

Such a cool space. Bartenders were fantastic and the cocktails were great. Love the vibe and the gritty location. I had just had dinner elsewhere so i didnt try the food but the menu looked cool!

Behind the construction on Maryland just north of Charleston lies a bar most people wouldn't give a second glance. But you should. Jive Turkey is a gem. The bartenders have amazing energy which they pour into their amazing and creative drink. The menu itself is a work of art that will make you laugh as you read it. Be sure to pay attention to the Mayhem section where you can order 5 minutes in the walk-in to cry, or get your polaroid on the wall permanently. Taylor was our fantastic bartender mixing drinks such as Birds Aren't Real, Sherry Cobbler, and more.We tried the Short Rib Sando based on the reviews and were not disappointed. If I had any complaint at all, it would be that there wasn't more of it because I wanted another bite. The two long rooms, one with couches and high tops, the other a few tables and a dart board, are separated by an outdoor picnic style area. There is a parking lot in back of the bar off 11th and bonneville with an entrance into the picnic area so don't let the torn up street and sidewalk in front keep you from enjoying this place. You might even here a few jokes from the bartender.I work nearby and this might become a friday night happy hour spot.

Had a little gathering here with a few co-workers and we had a great time. The place is really nice and welcoming. Sam and everyone else in the venue are always so great. They have the 2 sides. One is where the bar is, with some gambling machines and a few couches, and the other side has a few tables with a pool table and a couple games you can play. Cocktails are - AMAZING! I had a classic daquiri - always on point Food - SOO GOOD We ordered -Hot dogsChicken nuggets with all the sauces FriesChips and dipShort rib sandwich I love me some chicken nuggets with honey mustard ( We were all hungry that I didn't take pictures..lol..but I will next time I go) The whole group had a great time. Definitely a good local spot. And we will be back again.

Quite literally the best new bar to come to this part of town in a while! First of all, this space needed a cool spot for a long time. It's across Charleston from Yukon Pizza and next to the old 99c store. You can park in that lot. The ambiance is cool and modern with a nod to vintage vegas. Cut outs, coasters and pillows of our local celebrity Nicholas Cage found throughout. The coolest part is the dual rooms with a beautiful breezeway in between. The food is great, the beer selection is fantastic and they do have some gaming at the bar and pool/darts. The bartenders are really nice and I really felt that they were giving good vibes and proper attention even when they got busy. The attention to detail is the best part, and so appreciated. I hope they stick around, it's like this bar was made for our neighborhood.

Clean this review up to make it more thoughtful: Had an amazing time here meeting up with a good friend for his birthday. The bar was so fun to sit at and Taylor (bartender) added to the whole vibe engaging with us in conversation. Good choice of beers and liquors. Food menu is awesome and can't wait to try more stuff. Had the tempura green beans which was a solid pairing with the German beer I ordered. Look forward to the next visit.

We have been hearing good things about this place so we figured we'd give it a try; we were hungry and right down the street. The location is interesting with lots of construction and not the best area, but parking is close. It was a chilly and windy night, so we didn't stay outside for long but had to get a couple pics bc the layout was pretty neat. Once you get into the bar area the design is nice, very chill vibe, laid back. It wasn't super busy when we first got there so we got a seat right at the bar. They greeted us and gave us menus right away and asked us if we wanted water to start. The drinks take a little bit to get because they make them all from scratch and they all come in different style glasses to fit the style of drink which is cute. I got Satans whiskers (7/10) which is a gin martini with grand marnier and orange. It was really good! My husband got a shot of say my name (9/10) which was espresso and mint. He said it tasted like a peppermint patty and it was delicious. We came to eat so we ordered quite a bit as we had to try a few different things. We got the disco style fries (8/10) the braised beef was so tender and juicy and flavorful, and the portion size was huge! Chicky Nuggies (9/10) made from scratch in house, reminded me of chick fil a nugs, which are my top 3! House made ranch and garlic Parmesan sauce (10/10) both tasted so freaking good!! My husband got a pizza puff (8/10) a grown man's hot pocket - it was very tasty, I just wish the crust was more of a flaky croissant style and it would have been perfectionCheese burger (9/10) smash burger with pickles and grilled onions was so juicy and buttery, it was delicious!Mom's homemade brownies - (9/10) so gooey and warm, large serving size and it was really rich but had to save some for later! I had to try the world's best espresso martini (6/10) while it was tasty, it wasn't the best one I've had in town. It was just ok. It didn't make me want another one. I wish I would've gotten what my husband did lol. My husband got a drink called "over 21" (10/10) which was Rye and amaretto mixed with YooHoo and cream and omg it was the best yoohoo I've ever had!!! And of course we HAD to do the Polaroid picture to put on the wall! That was so cool and totally worth it! Overall I think it's a fun place, great vibes, drinks are good, prices are good, and we will be back! only thing was they don't really have to go boxes so we had to do a make shift out of the little boats they give us. But they did give us paper bags and wrappers and lids for the sauces, etc. So they did everything they could to help us make it work! We didn't want to leave any of the food behind!!

Jive Turkey is an absolute gem! The moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of. But the real star is the smash burger--WOW! The perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Their craft cocktails are creative and delicious and the vibe of this place is on point! They have a few gaming machines (it is Vegas) and also kind of a game room with a pool table, darts and a stage when they have live music on occasion. Whether you're a local or visiting, Jive Turkey is a must-try. I'll definitely be back, and I'm recommending this place to everyone I know! Five stars all the way!

I came here for the United States bartenders guild Christmas party, and my experience was phenomenal. Obviously I had a different experience than the average person, but the food and drinks alone left me aching to come back and try more. The bartenders were fantastic and quick, the drinks were delicious, and the bar area itself is a great mix of indoor and outdoor. The best part of my experience was definitely the burger- it was probably one of the best I've ever had! I had one while sober and one after drinking, and both were equally tantalizing and delicious! The fries were also great and the chicken was great, but I'll definitely be back for another burger!
