Our server was so attentive by kept our water filled and make sure we enjoyed our time.I wish for a little more decoration on the table or all around but the tasty foods had already made up for it!Enjoy my photo and video because what you see cant even compare to how yummy everything! You have to check this place out. Locals kept secret!

I made same day reservations for a party of 5 on a Wednesday evening. 3 of 5 arrived 30 minutes early, so they decided to seat us at the table next to the door - not a great spot as I could smell the funky air outside. But as we got them to uncork our bottle of red ($20 corkage fee) and as the rest of the party arrived, it eventually didn't bother me as much. But still would have liked a better table. We all decided to do the 7-course omakase, which they were able to accommodate (usual cost is $190 per 2 people). My fiancé and I were the only ones who have had omakase and had eaten escargot so there were a few virgins on our table which was exciting in itself. Each course and overall rating by everyone: 1. Scallop/uni/ikura carpaccio (unsure of exact name of dish but I've eaten more than my fair share of Japanese food and it definitely ate like a carpaccio) - 4/52. Salmon ceviche with light, airy, crispy chips - 4/5,Remember these chips as it will come into play for another course 3. Raw oyster - too fishy, not fresh - 0/54. Escargot - this was the first time I had grilled escargot, usually I have it drenched in butter the way the French prepare them. The virgins were surprised that they liked this - 5/55. Seared bass - cooked to perfection! My fave overall - 5/56. Bone marrow topped with grilled steak and foie gras - needed something citrusy to cut through the fat but still a good dish. By the time this was served, we were all so full. 1 needed help finishing her serving and asked for more of the chips (same one from the ceviche) - they served her with a small plate of chips - 4/57. All the gelatos were creamy and smooth - ube was our favorite flavor but the matcha was not bitter and the French vanilla was not overly sweet. 5/5. Cakes/pie: mango, chocolate mousse, & tiramisu- just ok. 3/5.This was my second time here and come back for the food and excellent service, most especially it's not on the strip. They have happy hour starting at 11pm, I would like to try that out next time.

After seeing it on TikTok for the anniversary special I had to come and celebrate their 11 year anniversary with a special $50 Omakase. Reservations were definitely the way to go and we were seated right away. The place is small so it filled up super quickly. The ambiance is pretty dark with good lighting. So here is the Omakase: 1/2/3 Course is a tasting: -Scallop with Uni was delish. This was the most mild out of the 3 and it was perfection-Oyster with Foie Grae and Uni: it has such a great sea water taste and beautiful bite -Toro with Uni and jalapeño yuzu. The citrus cut the toro and it was perfection 4th Course: Tiger Prawn with Truffle Butter. The prawn is humongous. It was such a beautiful and rich bite! 5th Course: Ribeye with Bone Marrow and Foie Grae: The meat was a beautiful medium rare and the bone marrow was like a perfect "meat butter" accompanist. 6th Course: Matcha Ice Cream: such a deep tea flavor that is not overly sweet. I loved the ending! In addition we tried the -Salmon Ceviche: the salmon bites were plentiful! The salmon was nice and fresh -Scallop Ceviche: The scallops were cut up more finely than the salmon. *Both ceviches were great, however the citrus was extremely overpowering. It was a bit much. Overall I would come back in a heartbeat. The owner has such a genuine heart and the sweetest personality. Congrats on 11 years and heres to many more!

I fluctuated between 3 stars and 4 stars but ultimately they have good service and the food quality is high. I made reservations by filling out their form on their website. They are not on Resy or Open Table, which is fine. But you have to plan ahead a bit. When we walked in, there was a very strong unpleasant gas smell. I think it came from their kitchen because of their grill. The restaurant is so small that the smell lingered throughout the night. Yellowtail sashimi - very fresh and good flavorOysters - also fresh and the mignonette sauce was delishWhole grilled squid - large squid. Good portion size. The grilled flavor was good. Wasn't a big fan of the sauce Escargots - buttery and garlickySalmon belly - very good portion size. Grilled wellGrilled prawn - very fresh and good char tasteSteak with bone marrow and foie gras - this whole plate was super rich and flavorful. It's missing some sort of carb and/or vegetables. The bone marrow was 2 big bone portion sizes but it's so fatty that I desperately needed something to cut through the fat. There is no rice or bread for the bone marrow, maybe some crusty bread would have been good. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but it came out medium well. Luckily the steak was so tender that it was soft and delicious. The chef/owner is at the front of the house and he tends to all the customers. Overall service was good. Food quality excellent. Need to somehow get rid of the gas/grill smell and refine a couple of dishes.

I've been slacking on checking out all of the izakayas around town, but sooner or later I had to Japa-long over here.Japaneiro, likely a wordplay name inspired by something too capsaicin-y for me, is a pretty cozy (read: small) restaurant in the corner of some plaza on Warm Springs and Tenaya. As far as the southwest part of town goes, it's basically the middle of nowhere. My friend wanted to meet at 11-ish, and happy hour here starts at 11pm, which is probably why I actually chose this spot over a few others which I was mulling over. When I arrived, they only had one other group, so I had no problem getting seated. They provide a QR code at the table that links to a web page with their full menu, including the happy hour. Eventually, we figured out our order, placed it, and got the food pretty quickly.Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi ($14.00 happy hour): not an exceptional start. The scallop was tasty, but I didn't really pick its flavor up on the first bite since the jalapeño was overpoweringly spicy. The yuzu soy was nice though.Scottish Salmon Sashimi ($3.50/pc HH): same accoutrements as the scallop, but the size of the salmon makes the jalapeño much less impactful. Tender and silky though, as you expect from salmon sashimi.Rock Shrimp ($9.00 HH): crispy, battered goodness with a spicy aioli. This is so simple but so very satisfying.Butter Lettuce Cups ($7.00/2 pc each order HH): served with Romaine lettuce for some reason, not butter lettuce. Fortunately, all three proteins satisfied - the crispy battered Chilean Seabass, the sweet and savory Black Cod, and even the Sashimi blend with its delicious sauce which I found oddly similar to a sweet vinegary salad dressing I've had.Tacos ($5.00/2 pc each order HH): served on a not so satisfying wonton shell. It simply wasn't airy or crispy enough in any of the tacos I tried. The salmon and tuna were forgettable and not sauced, while the beef was actually a pretty tender and flavorful steak. It's good enough that I recommend getting the beef taco or perhaps another beef item; I'm thinking a skewer next time.Edamame with Truffle Oil ($6.00 HH): charred on the outside, served hot, and not completely drenched with that truffle oil. It actually works really well, especially when you get that hit of the coarse salt in a bite.Matcha Ice Cream ($4.00): I just had to get a dessert, and unfortunately they said they were out of hojicha. The texture was a little icy at times, but the matcha flavor was distinct and present in every bite.Japaneiro is pretty far from me, but I would consider returning to Japaneiro for certain happy hour items, or to try their more splurgy items at a more reasonable hour. I did get a great sampling of their happy hour, but I do feel that I only just scratched the surface of their fusion offerings.

Came here twice with bigger groups so I've been able to sample a decent amount of the menu, but can't say I'm too impressed. Overall, portions are simply too small with nothing else standout to justify the high Strip-level prices they're charging. My favorite items have been the Australian lamb chops and rock shrimp (not pictured). A lot of the other items lacked sophistication and relied on brute flavor from sauces/seasoning. I love truffle, but the truffle flavor was way too strong on the truffle bone marrow (not pictured). The sauce for all their ceviches and lotus chips were also way too overpowering. Perhaps their flavors are just too strong for my palette, but the restaurant was pretty empty aside from my group both times I went. Service was fantastic on both occasions.

The food quality was very good but the price of the foods are almost at the Strip price. I was expected the restaurant was upscale because of the price of the foods. However, inside of the restaurant was very small and just as local restaurant interior. I felt the table and chairs were very old. The patio seating was look good in the summer though. When I was trying to take a picture of their foods, the sever showed up nowhere with a flash light for the camera. It was funny I had never had the flashlight service before

Nah not going back to this place. Idk what happened but I walk in for dinner .. these two ultra intense older dudes literally get in my face pointing all crazy at this sign and mumbling. So I look and it's a sign that says "we only accept Zelle or cash for now on".What kind of a way is that to do business? Creeped me out. Over Japañeiro.

Elevated Japanese fusion dinner at Japaneiro restaurant on the south west side of town. Amazing food, quality ingredients ie Hokkaido Uni in an intimate setting that is not located in your typical strip mall. We had the Chefs special omakase dinner, which included a trio of oyster, scallops, and wagyu bites topped with Hokkaido uni, fois grais and special sauces. 2nd course was a beautifully broiled giant prawn. Special entree was filet Mignon over perfectly broiled bone marrow bones. Dessert was green tea ice cream. We also had there special broiled squid that was also very tasty. They serve elevated high end and perfectly prepared Asian fusion food in a very casual setting. Small place I think 10 tables. Reservations are recommended. It's ok to treat yourself. Chef owner Kevin, and his staff personally serves and checks on you through out your dining experience. The overall dining experience is memorable.
