We went out for lunch today and since we typically enjoy Chinese, Korean or Japanese food, we usually head to Chinatown. But given how crowded it's now for lunar new year we decided not to. We have been to Island style several times before and it never disappoints. For those who do know, it's a rather unassuming hole in the wall on the lower end of Sahsra (to me anyway). Dive bar of restaurants in a run downish strip mall, but let me tell you the food is outstanding. You always feel like family if you get here and a woman who could be your Korean Auntie takes your order. The food is a mix of Korean, island style with perhaps some Chinese and Filipino thrown in. Shortly after we sat down, auntie brought out a large selection of banchan including a sliced hot dog version which was kind of weird. We over ordered deliberately, knowing we would be bring stuff home.On to the food.....Spam musibi, steamed mandu (dumplings)Son in law had the combo plate, squidlett had the bibimap in the sizzling stone bowl and the the sweet and sour pork (Korean style, sauce with veggies on the side and not sickly sweet red sauce like in most Chinese places). I opted for om-rice which is a thin omelette wrapped around fried rice. I also ordered mandu ok Soo which is dumplings and noodles in a thin broth. We nibbled as much as we could and they packed us up and we left totally sated, no more like stuffed. Didn't ask for a military discount, drove home, now ready for a nap

I did not know that meat jun was invented in Hawaii until I moved to San Diego. It took me 5 times at 5 different Korean establishments in San Diego to dig deeper and find out why they didn't sell meat jun. What is meat jun? It's thinly sliced beef, dipped in flour and egg, and pan fried. I know sounds simple. What makes it extra good is the dipping sauce. It's accompanied by Hawaii size portion rice not the small kine one scoop barely there mainland size. The banchan that you eat along with it completes the perfect meal. Surely in the "9th island" meat jun would be sold. I asked my cousin Matt who lives in Las Vegas and he highly suggested Island Style Restaurant. The restaurant comes with an Uncle that everyone one adores. Our first time there, he welcomed my family like we were regulars. As people continually came in he greeted them, the customers called him Uncle and he asked something that tied to them. This guy is truly building relationships with people. The Meat Jun was everything I was hoping, missing and longing for. What made it better was I decided to get the combo which included bbq chicken, kalbi and meat jun. It came with a scoop of macaroni, dipping sauce and Hawaii size scoops of rice. It was huge and I somehow managed to finish it because it was so good! My kids decided to get the chicken katsu and musubi. They enjoyed it! Chicken katsu had the perfect amount of breading, good chicken portion and it came with mac sal, katsu sauce and a heaping of rice. Overall, every-time we visit Vegas this will be our must stop. Good food, portion sizes, prices, and this place comes with a local style uncle that oozes Aloha. If you want the taste of the island come here. If you want to feel the aloha spirit come here. If you hungry come here :) Yelp 2025: 2/30

I have been coming here for well over 10 years and come back whenever I am craving a homestyle cooked meal. The portions and the quality of food for the price you pay is absolutely worth it. They have Korean and Hawaiian foods with banchans, too. The device is always friendly and the food comes out quickly. Plenty of seating inside.Parking can be a little tough since it is limited, so if you're coming with a large party, just a heads up.I've also ordered for pick-up and the food tastes just as great as when I dine-in.If you're ever craving a home cooked, filling meal, would recommend this place.

Great tasting food and nice service. We stopped in for late lunch the other day and remembered that we had eaten here years ago.My husband ordered spicy pork and squid, which came with rice and sides. He always orders spicy pork in a Korean restaurant and enjoyed his dish. He almost licked the dish clean.I ordered a combo plate which came with kalbi, teriyaki chicken, and meat jun. The portion was generous and I took half of it back to my hotel. The server was very friendly and served us bottled water as soon as we sat down. The menu included dishes that you'd find in Hawaii such as spam musubi and saimin. There were also Korean dishes to choose from.It was one of our favorite meals while visiting Las Vegas.

When: Saturday Aug 24th, 12:30 pm; Party of 2 Adults. The ambiance at Island Style is a classic family operated restaurant... simple and clean, with Hawaiian music playing over a small speaker box. With seating for about 50 patrons, there is enough spacing that everyone can eat comfortably. For former Hawaii transplants from Oahu, it's just like eating at one of the Kim Chee restaurants in Kaneohe, Pearlridge, Kaimuki etc. That is, they bring out banchan or Korean side dishes before your entree comes out. And instead of water in a plastic cup, they provide you with complimentary bottled water. The service was superb when you have family working. The two lovely ladies assisting the tables were friendly, efficient, and provided genuine service from the heart. The food came out super quick and hot.The main reason for coming here was my wife wanted Meat Jun. And Island Style did not disappoint her. I ordered their combo, which consists of 1 piece each of Kalbi Short Rib, BBQ Chicken, and Meat Jun. I have not tried all the eateries serving Meat Jun in Las Vegas, but the Meat Jun at Island Style has to be one of the best in Las Vegas. There is no doubt that the next time my wife and I visit from, Salem Oregon, we will be stopping here at Island Style for great Korean Comfort Food.

This is a food stall in the Korea Town shopping center. There are other restaurants in the area and all of them are a treat. The area is clean and orderly. As soon as we walked up we were greeted by the lovely cashier. We ordered bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, spam fried rice and omelet fried rice to go. Everything was packed so nicely and it includes banchan. The portions are satisfying and made fresh. If I lived here I would be here all the time. There is plenty on the menu to choose from. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures but the food was top notch and I really enjoyed it.

Ambiance was really old but they try their best to maintain its cleanliness. We ate at 3pm and were the only one there. It took a while for the lady to come and ask for our order as she was busy cleaning. She wasn't the friendliest and was more mechanical (robotically?) than anything. My husband and I ordered the jajangmeon and tangyusok combination. My husband requested for a fried egg on top. At first she kept insisting NO EGG until my hubby said we will pay extra for a fried egg. The Banchans were kinda limited at seaweed with white sauce, bean sprouts, kimchi and the onion and yellow radish. We asked for seconds and she gave it to us. When the food came, we forgot how delicious the food is here. It's very pricey for an old establishment like this but food was really scrumptious. My hubby always order Jajangmeon but I do not like it because of the many onions in it in other places we go to. Here it is different and the onions are well cooked and the pasta with the sauce was really tasty. The tansuyok pork was very crispy and I ate all the veggies in the sauce. Towards the end of our meal more patrons came and the attitude of the servers (or owners) instantly changed. When they never talked to us not ask how our meal was, to the new patrons they were very chatty and friendly. I even overheard the newly arrived patron that they have the best bulgogi wow maybe next time. I personally wanted to go to next door Weera Thai than here but the food here really won me over. One less star for being ignored the whole time we were eating.

100/10.As soon as your walk in you're greeted with a smile and a wave and instant sides placed on your table. The owners are super friendly and funny and it's just a great environment to eat in. Everyone needs to learn from them!!!!!Food was really good! I was craving Asian he was craving Hawaiian it's the best of both worlds. I got the spicy pork and squid and it was perfect exactly how I used to eat it in Korea. He got the combo plate and it was all just delicious and unique .I would come every week if we lived in Vegas.
