Delicious, diner-line food while visiting Hoover Dam! The food was quite good. There is a limited amount of indoor seating and the flow is off but the food is worth it. Loved it!

The food is good but the pretzels are cheap. The service was average and the food took long. It was really loud and crammed in there.

The Hoover Dam Cafe has been a hiking tradition when I partake in my round-trip hike on the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail which brings me onto the Hoover Dam. This self-service Cafe is the only restaurant serving the Hoover Dam excluding the one all the way up the overlook on the Arizona side, which is a dangerous and long walk to the dam. The Hoover Dam Cafe is located around the corner from the bottom of the stairs and elevator that transports visitors and hikers between both the parking structure and Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail to the Hoover Dam. It is a stone's throw to the visitor center and a fastball to the Arizona state line. Being that this is the main restaurant serving the Hoover Dam and in the heart of the action, the prices are so astronomical that you just might say the "d" word that follows "Hoover." Looking at the menu I saw all food and drink items sold at astronomical prices where it just made sense to buy a snack and save my appetite for a nicer meal in Boulder City. Or it just made sense to fill up for breakfast in Boulder City. The menu prices included a cheeseburger combo for around $17 and a bottomless Pepsi for $5. However, this did not stop me from treating myself to a hot pretzel with cheese. The price was $5. Being that I was on top of this engineering marvel looking up at another engineering marvel called the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, I was really enjoying a pretzel that would be considered decent in an ordinary environment. The cheese was a little cup that I dipped the pretzel in. The pretzel wasn't a four star hot and soft one. I would rate it as solid in an environment that I am a fan of. If I did not have the water bottle with me, I probably would have brought a Pepsi or water. If the Hoover Dam Cafe was a full service restaurant like the Big Horn Cafe up on Mount Charleston, I could see spending some money to eat in a full service restaurant in a breathtaking environment. However, it is a restaurant that really seems more like a snack bar than a Cafe, where you order at the counter and they call your name. Taking into consideration that this was a stop on an eight-plus round trip hike, I sat inside the restaurant which was expectantly fairly busy. Now if I did buy a cheeseburger combo and arrived by a vehicle, I would have sat at an outside umbrella table that affords far better views of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge than the dam proper. And if I lived far away, perhaps I would have brought a souvenir in the attached gift shop. If my round-trip hikes on the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam persist, I forsee a mid-hike break in the Hoover Dam Cafe. Let's face it, a pretzel with cheese really hits the spot when you are hiking in the desert.

in my opinion, having to find a delicious foodie gem at a touristy location is such a wonderful thing. Yes, we were doing the touristy thing by stopping in to Hoover dam tour when I found myself in this 'Dam Cafe'. Everything here seemed fairly ordinary and like any other tourist trap. Except this one has proved me completely wrong. Ordered a burger and triple decker truly without much expectation. Paid the tourist price for each dish and waited a while. I noticed when I was picking up the food. Hefty! plates were not light like I expected them to be. Portions were very generous. Burger was juicy and actually delicious! But the french fries under the burger were even better . Yum... couldn't believe this was a burger being served at a tourist cafe. Patties were decently thick and cooked just right (Not a fan of over cooked meat). Triple decker was very generous in portion with lots of bacon, good slices of tomatoes and lots of shredded lettuce. Bread was nicely toasted and did not taste stale. It's such a wonderful feeling when you can actually get a delicious meal that justifies the spending at a touristy place.

We had a dam great lunch at the cafe! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent. I had a chicken Caesar wrap, the chicken was seasoned and cooked really well, My partner had the Dam Burger which was also top notch with super fresh produce and again cooked to perfection. Although this is a place for a quick lunch, in a location that you may not expect great food or service, we were really impressed with both. Great job!!!

VERY COOL CAFE ! Not that long back my wife and I flew into Las Vegas for a big 50th birthday bash for an Aussie friend. In between we decided to do a tour of the Hoover Dam. After doing the power plant tour of the dam and walking outside into the 110F unbelievable oppressive heat on July 4th, 2017 we couldn't get inside this heavily air conditioned cafe quick enough. It was lovely ! We picked up some ice cold bottles of water, a couple of sandwich wraps and 2 beautiful tasting ice-creams. Real quick service, good food and reasonable prices. Just loved the chilly air con !

So irritated. We came in at 3:45 to see the sign "Kitchen Closed". But you're open until 5. Why bother being open?
