Harolds Chicken

I recently ordered a to-go meal and, unfortunately, my experience was just average, earning it a mere three stars at best. The fries were noticeably undercooked, lacking the crispiness that one usually expects. Instead of being golden and crunchy, they were soggy and unappetizing, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, the shrimp were cornmeal fried, but this important detail was missing from the food item description. It would have been helpful to know this in advance, as I prefer a different preparation style.While the meal might be a great choice for those looking to soak up some liquor, I found it less satisfying given my sober state. The flavors didn't quite resonate, and I expected more from my order. Overall, while it served its purpose, I left feeling somewhat disappointed and would recommend a more thorough description of the food items for future customers.

I love Harold's Chicken... when they actually have Chicken. Today was the 4th time in 3 months that I went to Harold's on Simmons and learned they didn't have any Chicken. Today, they only had party wings. The very rude male, who was not even behind the counter when we arrived, but came in shortly carrying takeout from another place, mumbled that they only had party wings, then walked away.He didn't offer any explanation and never asked if we wanted just wings. We walked out and ordered a pizza.I blame management for improper training of employees and poor food management to ensure the place has the supplies needed for a successful business.

The service was horrible, she was on the phone the whole time and this was our first time here and she didn't want to answer no questions. They can't substitute anything. I got an attitude for asking for more sauce and it was just over all not good. The Cole slaw was on point but the chicken, would not recommend. It was just a very bad experience

Not a sit down place to eat. They only have 2 tablesI would suggest calling in to order. We didn't know that until we got thereService was mid. Crispy and seasonedThey offer you hot sauce, but it's not hot sauce..It's taste like a sweet and sour bbq sauce? Or a tangy bbq with no heat..Make sure if you're a hot sauce lover, just have some at home Fries were crispy fries, nothing specialMozzeralla sticks were very small and not long.Bread - just a slice of bread, not buttered or thick. Save your money on this

The customer service from the guy who cooked my food was so poor. I came in with my disgusting food to get a refund and when I politely tell them why he says no with an attitude. First off the chicken was bland and not seasoned at all, as well as the catfish. And the mild sauce shouldn't be called mild sauce. It tasted like some horrible bbq sauce mixed egg ketchup. And I love a good bbq sauce and ketchup but only when I'm having a taste for. The guy just said I'm not giving you a refund. He offered to remake my order but I kindly told the nice pregnant cashier that I rather get my money back. He yells from the back that he's not giving me a refund. But then said the manager wasn't there to do it. So why not just say that and not be rude about it. Didn't even apologize for how nasty the food was. I will be back tomorrow to speak to the manager about my refund and how awful the customer service was. This was my third time trying this spot and I won't ever be back. The last time they didn't even have any chicken and the first time the chicken was just ok but I thought it was because they had just opened up. So I was giving them a chance. But being a Chicago native this place is NOT LIKE US and should never have poorly represented the iconic Harold like they did. And so judging from other reviews. They didn't even provide bread with the order nor do fries come with the chicken. But got the nerve to charge all that money for their food. Shame on yall. Update: 19 days later and I still have gotten my refund. Every time I go there or call to ask for the manager, to take care of it I'm told they are not there. And will be there later. I've never known a business to have not one manager on board... Smh.

Waited 45 minutes for our order after being told there was only party wings. The food was below average the staff member was on the phone while taking our order. The fries were some of the worse id ever had and the restaurant was empty... yet we still waited 45 minutes for a below average meal. Will not be returning.

Heard a lot about this place. Excited to finally try and See what the hype was about. Customer service was... serviceable? It wasn't warm but it wasn't rude. It was... service. I can appreciate it honestly. No phony baloney. Just take the order and process the payment. Ordered the 4 wing dinner they came with fries and toast. The fries are bland with zero flavor but the chicken balances it out. The chicken wings were fresh and packed with robust flavor. You could really eat these wings with zero sauce. Save the mild sauce to dip the plain fries in. The perch was fresh and had great flavor. I used the hot sauce on the perch and it was a perfect combo. Very good food. Not a place to dine-in. Don't expect some grand welcoming from the staff. But you can expect to be treated fairly and served some good food in a clean environment. This will be one of my monthly lunch spots.

Went tonight 12/20/24 around 5:30pm and they're CLOSE! I'm in town visiting my daughter and our mouths was ready for that Chicago chicken. I'm not sure what's going on but from all the bad reviews I don't think they will be around too long. It's sad because Harold's is BIG in Chicago and they make a lot of money. I'm from Chicago and I guess I have to wait until I go back home.

Omg this perch,chicken and fries combo was so nasty it didn't have any flavor whatsoever, the wings wasn't whole wings like they should've been and the perch was over cooked... BTW they never have catfish smh only thing that was good was the sauce lol.. I will never eat from this location again..

Do not ever expect to get anything off the menu. They are always out of something. Then going to tell me if I get a 1/4 white I can get a whole wing and breast but they don't have a 4 wing dinner.
