We booked reserved seating by the private pool which is great for an adults only environment. Super chill, good music, and the chairs and umbrella make your experience very comfortable. Our waitress was Lori and she took the best care of us. She was not only very attentive but also extremely pleasant to deal with. She had great conversation, and overall her vibe and people skills made our day. We enjoyed it so much we decided to reserve chairs again for the following day although she mentioned she wouldn't be in our section. Now we come the second day and our waitress is a woman named Michelle and when I tell you it was a 180 experience from the prior day it's an understatement. I have never as a customer felt so insignificant, a nuisance is how she made us feel. I'm not sure how working in hospitality someone can be so rude and angry at 10am. We ended up having to speak to the manager Christopher who took immediate action and righted all her wrongs. To our delight he directed us to Lori's section and she continued with the absolute best professional service. Thank you to Lori and Christopher for saving our day and ensuring we had a good time. I highly recommend coming here but if possible avoid Michelle. PS the food is absolutely delicious, perfect to enjoy poolside.

The pool is nice on a hot day. Most staff was friendly and professional except for one lifeguard. On a Tuesday, i came in with semi elongated inflatable not much longer than an oversized round tube. I didnt know you could not bring in tubes other than a round one. I saw several other patrons bring in elongated inflatables and i brought mine. After 3 full hours in the lazy river, a life guard told me that i could not use it. If i could not use it, why did the staff let me in? Why did you wait THEEE FULL hours before you (lifeguard) call me out? Why did you have to give me the dirty eye stare everytime i went around until you decided to call me out. That was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Do you give your mother the evil stare when you are upset or your mother does something wrong?Other lifeguards let me pass around. They were not as strict in letting other food and drinks in. They were not as strict in letting children bring in water toys, yet that is one of the rules. The young lifeguard said she was there longer and understood the rules better as justification for enforcing the slightly elongated inflatable, yet was unprofessional and inconsistent for arbitrarily enforcing particular rules and not others. The patrons in the lounge chairs to the right and left of me spoke to me and called out that the lifeguard (young lady) was unprofessional and should have let the elongated inflatable slide given the other lax enforcement of the rules. I was not causing any trouble during my time here and was polite to other patrons in the lazy river. What really upsets me is the amount of trash and beer cans along the ledges of the lazy river. This is a safety hazard (see pic)!!! If there is one thing that is most important to enforce, it is safety!!!!' In areas where the walkway is narrow, the trash made it hard to walk around and people could slip or be injured. This is a liability hazard!!!! No one came to pick up during my 3 hours there. You should enforce safety not a slightly elongated inflatable. The staff should be more consistent in what they enforce, and not have one lifeguard arbitrarily call out a minor concern. Why didnt you (you lady lifeguard) call out the other kids who brought water toys in the lazy river? Why did you not call out the other people who brought outside sandwiches and food that i saw? Why didnt you call services to clean up the trash along the lazy river to prevent liabilities? This lifeguard certainly ruined a good day and one day karma will come back to this person.***OVERALL: Other than this particular lifeguard, the water was somewhat clean. The pool complex could still be an appropriate venue for families and guests if not for the trash left along the lazy river (it is a safety hazard and a liability).

A good time was had by all during the NCAA tourney. Unfortunately the weather was chilly (70°), so Cabana #13 go early shade which annoyed me. Stephanie was our point person and our server was Gary, both did a nice job making sure our group was happy and hydrated (check, check). At MGM whatever you pay for the cabana, you get half of that amount in food and drinks. You have a private server for the day, as mentioned, we had Gary.Cabana # 13 is probably great during the HOT months because you get a lot of shade the whole morning because it has trees, but in March it is not optimal. There is a restroom pretty close and an entrance into the lazy river right in front of you. The cabana has 4 lounge chairs and an umbrella outside. Inside it has a couch, a dining table with chairs, a TV, a safe, garbage can and inner tubes for the pool. The menu is a little limited but what they have is good. We enjoyed our experience and found it to be a good investment.

I wasn't staying at the MGM grand so I had to book a river pod and can say it was worth the money. You get access to the pool complex all day and get amazing service! You have to pay to reserve a pod and half goes to the bed itself the other is a beverage and food credit. You can order food drinks etc the food itself isn't the best but not the worst either! We really enjoyed the river pod even though we couldn't access until 10! Would visit again in a heartbeat. The lazy river def gets packed but fun!

In the summer this place is both wonderful and terrible. Wonderful in that they have a lots of pools, including a general pool, an adults only pool, a VIP guest area, and the Lazy River. I lurve the Lazy River and can stay there all day. We pay a little extra for reserved seats, that way the servers always check in on us, bring us iced water without us having to ask, and we have umbrellas for our personal usage. You need to pay to rent the tubes at the Lazy River, but I know how to float, so I don't use them. What's terrible about this place are two things. First, the vast amounts of people here. If you're a guest of any MGM property, you can pay to visit. That means in the summer this place is crazy crowded, so definitely rent a cabana or a lounge chair at an exorbitant price if you need to have some space set aside for yourself. And forget about the hot tubs- whether it's summer or winter they are filled to the brim with families and kids. The second bad thing? They have just tons of Bud and Bud Light ice buckets lining the pools, especially around the general pool and the Producer's pool and there have no one picking up once they're used. It's so bad that if you want to sit near the pool edge, you kinda have to do a little custodial work and put cans in buckets, stack buckets, and gather them together somewhere away from you. It doesn't have to be like that. I go to Cancun a lot and the resorts constantly have people walking around, asking if people are done with their beverages and cleaning up so that the place doesn't look embarrassing. In spite of that, the place seems hygienically clean and it is a fun place to hang out, but if you're looking for a relaxing place to chill near the water, try an expensive indoor spa, because this place is about loud party music and it's just crawling with kids and trash.

I've been coming to this pool since 2008. It hasn't changed much but it's always a great time. I'm from Texas so I love a lazy river. I think the pools opens around 8 am but the lazy river doesn't open till 10 am. They have three reservation options, chairs, beds or cabanas. Most of reservable chairs are on an island in the middle of the lazy river same with the beds. The cabanas are along the outer area of the common pool chairs. Since it's just two of us, we just reserve the chairs at $60 each. I'd suggest doing this as soon as you book your rooms because in the summer they get booked and you might not get the days you want. We did it through our MGM app. In the summer there are LOTS of families with kids so the spots do get taken quickly. If you don't reserve one, don't worry there are lots of free chairs to sit in.The private island is not overcrowded with chairs, enough to have some space and it comes with an umbrella. If you want a good spot where your chair is facing the lazy river you've gotta get there early because the chair is reserved for paying patrons BUT the spot where the seat is is first come first serve. You've gotta check in at the little office first and then they give a receipt and wrist bands. Once you find your spot, a server will come by and collect that receipt and take your order. There is a double sided one page menu to order from with cocktails beer and some appetizer foods if you're hungry. If you have a larger crowd they'll bring you a different menu with the same food options plus others but the portions are larger. We ordered some chicken tenders on a bed of fries (it was a lot of fries) and the loaded fries which had queso, jalapeños, green onion and sour cream. I didn't know the tenders were gonna have THAT MANY fries or I would've ordered the nachos. The bed near us ordered tenders as well and their order was huge! It came in a huge platter and they had 3 small children so they ate it up. I forgot to mention, the beds are pricey but half that price is a food and drink credit, so if the bed is $500, then half of that is for food and drinks. The beds are meant for 4 people and it was a great idea for that family because the kids took a nap in the shade of the umbrella. They also got a huge veggie platter that they snacked on and a bucket of waters (I was being nosey tee hee). Our server Lori (Lorena) was very good. She checked on us constantly and was making sure that only paying customers were sitting in the seats (I'm not a snob but I paid for my seat so I expect others to as well). She was very kind and professional about the way she did it. She said hello and then asked if they would like to rent the seat at $60. They all said no and left. She was not condescending, rude or snarky about it either. She recognized later on that I was pregnant and asked to make sure ( thank you for asking) and I said yes. After that she checked on us constantly and she ALWAYS brought me a large ice water. The service was already good but she took the extra step to make sure I was okay. She also brought me a little cup of fruit which was VERY nice of her. She didn't have to but the fact that she did was so kind of her. You have people in service who just do their job and then you have those who do it with pride and she definitely did. Before COVID MGM used to hand out tubes for people to use for free. They've gotten rid of them and you can bring your own. They do offer a service to blow them up for you but you've gotta wait in line. They also sell two sizes if you didn't bring one but it's $25 and $30. It's cheaper to just buy them at Five Below.I gave this 4 stars because of a couple of things. Towards the end of the lazy river time (they close it at 5) was the trash. Along the river there are spots you can perch and chill but people left so much trash. Cans, cups, buckets, food and napkins. It's not really the pool staffs fault that some people are disgusting and have no home training but someone should walk along the lazy river and just scoop up trash every now and then. Which answers my question as to why we can't bring our own food and drinks in. Straws and napkins end up in the water. Speaking of things in the water, people walk around with crocs and flip flop sandals then GET IN THE WATER bringing leaves and mulch into the river. Come on y'all, that's gross. The bathroom nearest to me only had three stalls and no circulating air so there was a line and the air was stale. All in all, I love coming here, I've never had my items stolen, never witnessed a fight or altercation, in general the place is pretty clean and feels safe to visit. Can't wait to be back next summer.

When a tube costs $35, they should be concerned about theft. Was here for a conference and after work we came down with tubes to enjoy the lazy River. The lazy River closes at 5pm. So we decided to try the pool, putting our rafts on a chair with our stuff. The pool area is filthy! Empty cans and buckets all over the pool deck and around chairs that were not ever picked up. A employee stated that the "EVS" doesn't clean up until after they close. While in pool, noticed that someone stole one of our tubes. The staff did not care a single but, and truly only cared if I had a receipt. The security officer made snide comments about me in front of other guests, including my girlfriend, having to be told to stop by other employees. No one wanted to try and help find the person that stole my property and their attitude made it appear that it happens all the time, and they do not care.

Honestly this pool complex was the main reason we booked our hotel here and it did not disappoint. They have a long lazy river, giant jacuzzi, and multiple pools with shady areas, lounge chairs, and pods/cabanas that are available to rent. All you need to do is scan your room key and show your ID at the entrance, and you're able to grab free towels and make your way down. There are a couple spots to grab drinks around the complex, and they have a main cabana grill which offers the basics like sandwiches, burgers, fries, etc. You're able to eat it poolside, just not in the actual pool. Note - if you want to tubing down the lazy river, bring your own tube! They do not have rentals, and only sell them for $25-30 (depending on the size).

We rented chairs at the Wet Republic Lazy River. It's not marked to go to this 'Island' so finding our sets was a task. We ordered food water and drinks with Taylor and had no table to put our stuff on. I would suggest to have a table at every set of 4 chairs. Our umbrella was broke and had to (with an ask) be replaced. Drinks. The Strawberry Daiquiri was off, not a sweet taste but like the machine needed to be serviced. Nothing tasted tropical. Directions. Signage should be a little bit better for it to say the 'island'. Because that's where the lifeguards direct you to but signs do indicate that. Having somebody after you check-in would be nice to lead you into which area you're in or you'll walk around for 20 minutes.I had to ask for ice water multiple times and it felt since we didn't order multiple drinks (after having a bad one at that price) that water was not an option. With it being a 109 degrees out and having paid for sets ice water would be with a smile. Suggestion. Have an ice water service rolling around the river. Service was slow.It was a nice ambiance but I felt like. we were treated mediocre at best.

I've been coming to Vegas about twice a year since 2007. I pretty much only come memorial day and Labor Day weekend and the main reason I always stay at the MGM as opposed to other hotels is because of the pool. MGM has a fantastic multiple options when it comes to pools and or a lazy river. They also recently added an outdoor eating cabana in the center of the pool complex. The main pool I stay at is the Academy pool where you have the Academy bar and fantastic servers like Vanessa, who always take care of us. Most drinks are $30 with an extra $4 if you want a float of liquor on top. The mango mai tai is my go to when relaxing in the pool or laying out in the Vegas sun. The Rumrunner drink is also very good. They have cabana services as well as you can rent bigger lounge chairs with umbrellas. I've eaten here several times as well and it's always very good and the service is even better. See you guys memorial day 2024.
