Gary Reese Freedom Park

Freedom Park offers some great outdoor activities for children and families alike. Organized trams come here to practice and compete against one another. Batting cages are also open go anyone that wishes to practice their swinging. The snack bar offers typical snacks (pizza, hot dogs, burgers, pretzels) along with a nice variety of draft beers. Great way to spend a nice evening.

A man by the name of Bugsy Siegel once envisioned a playground of casinos in the middle of the Mojave deserts. He believed if he built it that many people would come to play. Today the Las Vegas strip is a playground of dreams for millions of visitors a year. In 1972 someone else envisioned a different type of playground for the Las Vegas locals. A group of fields built for the American pastimes. Baseball, softball, picnics, flag football, dog walkings,and family gatherings. As a result the Freedom Park was built in honor for the locals who served in the military. And as a hopeful sanctuary for all those who strived to uphold the American pastimes. Recently the parks name was extended to the Gary Reese Freedom Park as a dedication to Las Vegas's recently elected city councilman.

Why in the world are the hoops so far apart on this basketball court. No full court games are possible when the hoops are a million miles apart . They wasted so much space and potential

I love this park its my go to for a run since it so close to home. Today i decided to pass by with pup and take her for a proper walking and thats when i noticed that most of the surrounding edges of the park are covered in dog feces that dog owners will not pick up!!!! I love this place but make sure of your surroundings when you try and attempt to walk around. If your going for a run make sure to do it when the kiddos are at school becuase theres almost nobody here

The new Freedom Park is great. Couple years back this park was garbage with all the alcohol brought in, show cars jumping up and down with their music blasting, and people bringing drugs in. But this review is mainly for the football fields in which I play flag football on. The fields were redone and unlike any other football fields I've seen they have an under foam padding so it absorbs the suns heat. No longer are your feet and toes burning from the sun which is good. It's all artificial grass but I don't mind that at all.But this park is huge, they have a couple football fields which you can also play soccer on. There are many childrens play area and the new addition that really stands out is the Big League Dreams property (that's another 5 star review waiting to be written). The skatepark returned as well. This is one good park to take the family out for a picnic. And also the fields are nice to play on for flag football!

There's chemicals in the grass that make my dogs sick all the time . Other then that it's okay .

This is just about the skatepark. Freedom was known for having the best bowl in Las Vegas. The street course is a 10 stair set, hubba, and handrail. Also a euro gap and a bank. In 2016 ,some weird portable steel obstacles that sound like a wrestling matt, everytime you land were added. They skate fine, except for a few razor sharp edges. Bonus star awarded for being the only skatepark with mexican style food cart vendors.

Actually the park looks cleaner now and is a great place for different activities. Yes sometimes is over crowded especially around the children area but it is mostly during peak times and weekends. I love this park! I do contact the city when it is awfully dirty. They have been doing good so far.

What I love about this park is that is so big! There is a lot of room. Some parks are so small you have feel as is your invading people spaces. Husband came to play and I jogged around to get some cardio in!

Pretty nice facility. Could use a few more public restrooms around. The Ball Parks around are in great shape and fun to watch from the stands.
