This was my first time coming here and it was amazing! They have a full menu of Japanese food to order from and the market itself has an array of Japanese food to take home and enjoy. When I first arrived, I ordered the Beef Sukiyaki bowl, Tonkatsu plate, and Chicken Katsu Curry. While that was being prepared, I was able to walk around the store and shop for some groceries I needed at home! They had everything from noodles, sauces, seasonings, ice cream, frozen foods (including breads and meats), and many Japanese snacks! By the time I was finished going around the whole store and picked up a few items, and it 15 minutes, my food was ready! It's a spacious, clean store and all the items were neatly organized and easy to find. Let's not forget about the food now - the Tonkatsu and Chicken Katsu were both perfectly crispy while still being juicy and tender. The curry was flavorful, rich, and smooth and companies the crispy pieces of meat well. The Sukiyaki bowl was also delicious! Sweet and salty beef pieces laid on top of white rice that soaks up the sauce so well. I may live far from Fukuya, but the drive was worth it and I can't wait to go back!

I saw on IG that they expanded and there's more goodies available so my mom and I headed over there today. When you enter it feels bare if that makes any sense. It doesn't have that cozy feeling like at Nakata market... it just feels cold and empty. The shelves were kinda bare too. I really think they need to reconfigure the space better. The expanded area has a little booth and it looked like it was for food ordering but no one was manning the station. There were also signs advertising Japanese strawberries and fresh fish coming in from Japan but those signs were also very confusing. The kitchen was towards the back of the store, so the ordering should be done there. The seating area to eat is in the expanded area and they also installed a tv. They had a little Hawaiian section of snacks. They had a good variety of Japanese goodies but the prices were a bit high. I did grab a few snacks and some rice balls. I had wanted to eat lunch there but my mom didn't like the vibe so we went somewhere else for lunch. The tuna and salmon rice balls were priced at $2.50 so it was decent but after seeing the fish ratio, it wasn't worth it... was quite disappointed. There was barely any fish mixture. Please change the lighting and re-organize the store a bit better. I think this place has a lot of potential.

A cute Japanese grocery store filled with all your needs! We picked up some onigiri and egg sandwiches for our hike the next day. The onigiri had too much rice and not enough protein. I'd skip on that next time. But the egg sandwiches...yummy! That's a winner! The staff were helpful and friendly. I'd come back again!

We called ahead to order a makunouchi bento, as the menu warned it takes 30 minutes. This was the highlight of our picnic. If you are headed out somewhere to enjoy a hike or outdoor show, you can't beat this place for a picnic. It will evoke nostalgia for your last trip to Japan. Delightful straight-from-Japan drink and dessert options to accompany your bento. The prices are crazy reasonable, too. A deluxe bento or makunouchi is a nice meal for 2 at around $20. The fried oyster option is a steal.

Nice little grocery store with Japanese goodies such as dried goods, condiments, and made to order foods. It looks like a small family owned business. We went there for their bento boxes which were decently priced for a good serving size.We got the beef galbi, salmon salt, and fried mackerel. The portions are just perfect because they also come with tiny sides that you can enjoy with your entree. I didn't try the galbi but it looked good and came with 3 pieces. My husband's salmon was really good. My fried mackerel were tiny and didn't have the salty mackerel flavor. I also was expecting a mackerel filet but they were tiny fried fish. Overall everything was really good!

Fukuya Japan Market is located in the same plaza as Tofu Hut (behind it actually) with parking available. My husband and I stopped by here this past Sunday afternoon, a little before 3:30 pm. We were greeted by the employees behind the counter upon entering. We made an order of the following at the front register:Chicken Katsu Curry, $12 prior to tax- This meal came with a small green leafy side salad with a small container of dressing. I had 6 delicious pieces of chicken katsu that was served on a bed of steamed white rice with a very generous side of curry. The curry was nice and thick and had an excellent flavor. The portion for this meal is very good for one person. Beef Sukiyaki Bowl, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal contains slices of thin beef with onions in a nice perfectly sweetened sukiyaki sauce that is served over a bowl of steamed white rice. The portion size is also perfect for one person. The employee who took our order told us that we can pay after we are done shopping, since she asked if we still want to do some shopping. She said she can still put in our order while we shop/ browse. We ended up just purchasing a small can milk coffee for my husband, $2.39, no tax- My husband liked his milk coffee and said it wasn't bad at all. I didn't have any. --------------------------------- (Total= $26.77 after tax)The meals offered are made to offer. There is plenty of variety on the menu they have and I wish to try more of. Also the market itself is small but does offer plenty of snacks, drinks, candies, etc. Some of the prices are affordable. But I did find that some of the items also cost a few dollars more than at some of the Japanese markets I frequent back at home in Los Angeles. I will definitely be back at Fukuya Japan Market again in the near future.

Much like a smaller Nijiya Market or Marukai Market in Hawaii. Small mom and pop vibes here. You may order imported fruits from Japan. Fresh made bentos and musubis are also available to purchase. Interested in fancy quality rice from Japan? They have it here. All different snacks and household items from Japan may also be found here. A very nice man greeted me upon entering the establishment. Nice cashier rang up my purchase. There is ample free parking outside. Ventured here based on Yelp and Instagram views.

Cute little store with great products. I ordered the sukiyaki beef bowl that was really delicious and the pork katsu sandwich. It was good but wish it was on Japanese bread instead of a deli roll. They also had ice cream that I used to buy in Japan and it took me back. The service was good. Well worth a try.
