I am so glad that I discovered this business. I have always been interested in learning about how blown glass is fused and created. I reached out to this business and sadly learned that there are no places in town that teach this skill. This business does offer other classes working with fused glass so I decided to sign up for one. The cost for my class was only $40 which I thought was very reasonable.Although I am not in this part of town often, the studio was easy to find parking was plentiful in their lot. This business is broken into two areas. When you enter, you are in the gallery and there are various artists featured along with their pieces. Very impressive. In the back of the studio is where all the glass art is created. There are kilns, tools, workbenches etc.My friend and I signed up to create a colorful heart this past Saturday morning. We were warmly greeted by Don who checked us in and then we patiently waited for the class to begin. Barbara and Larry (owners) took us back into the working part of the studio and we all found our places around two tables. Since we were handling glass, we had to wear gloves for safety. The purpose of the class was to create a mosaic style heart/paperweight. There were two large trays at each table filled with colorful, fused glass. After trying various sizes of the glass, I was finally able to finish creating my design and considered my heart masterpiece completed. Larry was extremely informative and helpful throughout the class as was Barbara. I learned from Larry about their extensive involvement with our community. They had just recently held an event for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. I love a small business that gives back and it makes me want to support them even more. Both Barbara and Larry display a real passion for what they do and enjoy sharing it with others. Larry expressed to me how addicting creating this kind of art an be and I totally believe him. After our hearts were created, they would now be placed in the kiln for firing. Barbara advised all of us that as soon as our hearts were ready, we would be notified and able to pick them up.I have been looking for a creative outlet and I believe I will be back taking more classes and learning more about working with fused glass.

I have come in to Domsky Glass twice in the past two weeks. The first time was for a glass fusing class I found through UNLV Continuing Education. Basically, I came in for about two hours and laid pieces of colored glass mosaic style on a round pane. It was then put into a kiln in my absence two separate times. The first firing was to fuse all the pieces together. The second firing is to "slump" it into the shape of a 10" plate. Other project options were an 8" bowl or a set of four 4" coaster. The instructor, Barbara, taught the class how to use the various tools to cut the glass we needed into the shapes we wanted. She showed us how to draw a design, if a design was to be followed, and cut the glass to match the design. I went with a more chaotic amorphous approach rather than adhering to a design. Partly because I did not know what to draw. Mostly because I don't draw well. It was only afterwards that I thought of an idea that I maybe could have figured out. Regardless, I was mostly happy with what I came up with.Fast forward two weeks and I came back to Domsky Glass for their First Saturday open house and to pick up my final piece. I was surprised by the turn out. The parking lot was already full by the time I got there at 6:00. Inside the workshop was a seating area set up to watch a glass blowing demonstration. It was packed. Very few seats left unfilled. By my estimate, 40 or 50 people. It was good to see that kind of support. It was even more impressive to watch the guys work their magic. Larry, one of the owners, was working on some decorative globe like pieces for a light display. He had two people helping him including a young guy who just started working there day of. He had taken one of the UNLV classes and developed a passion for glass blowing. He is learning the art. The entire time the guys were working the glass they were explaining the entire process. Going over the terminology, history, tools, techniques. It was fascinating to watch. I'm exhausted for them. Unfortunately I don't know what the finished pieces will look like. They have to cool slowly in a kiln to prevent them from breaking. I guess I'll have to go back again to see them.Domsky Glass is a cool place separated into two main areas, the gallery up front and the workshop/studio. Both offer a very different aesthetic but are both impressive in their own right. The gallery is clean and classy. The studio is more of a factory look. Kilns and furnaces, work benches, tools, shelves. Everything serves a purpose. It isn't exactly pleasing to the eye but it is interesting to see. If you haven't been to Domsky Glass, mark it on your calendars to visit during the next first Saturday open house. It lasts three hours but that time will fly. The glass blowing process offers non-stop entertainment and the gallery offers a feast for the eyes. Well worth the drive down Highland.

This was such a fun and unique experience. The workers were friendly and talked about glass blowing and how they got into the industry. It was cool being able to pick out colors and see a beautiful ornament made right in front of me. I hope to make it a tradition for myself to come back every year for Christmas ornaments!

I'm not a yelp review kind of person but my daughter and I had such a wonderful time I just had to let people know. I have been looking for something special for my daughter(13) and I to do together for some time. The only real criteria I had was that it was something we did together was fun and that it be unique. Let me tell you Domsky Glass does not disappoint. My daughter and I were completely blown away by the whole glass blowing experience. In all honesty the dinner we went out to before will be forgotten in 2 weeks but I don't think we will ever forget the experience we had at Domsky Glass plus we got to make and take home our own glass project. If anyone is thinking of doing it ask Barbara to help you set it up. She definitely knows how to give the white glove treatment.

I recently attended a wonderful morning glass fusing and blowing class. We each made a piece that will later be fired and slumped. Can't wait to see it. Our instructor- Barbara (owner) - was fun, patient, creative, and helpful. And her husband Larry was a master of glass blowing, showing us how to create two gorgeous pieces. We didn't actually get to blow glass, but it was awesome to watch and listen to him talk through everything. This was a small corporate event, and worth every minute!

We were sealing a new experience in Las Vegas and looked up glass blowing on Yelp. Little did we imagine that we'd find a working artist's studio, glass blowing studio and art gallery in one spot. What a fun experience! We talked to Larry and Don for quite a chunk of their day and learned a great deal about their business and what they do. Just what we wanted to see and experience.
