We booked Detours of the west for a private guided tour of Valley of Fire for a small group of us from Miami. They were profesional, courteous, and friendly. We were picked up by Rachel and Fred, the guide and driver respectively at the hotel. The Mercedes' streamer was clean and super comfortable. We arrived at the first site: Beehives. Rachel explained how the Mormon settlers had named the rock formations as it reminded them of beehives. Rachel let us meander and tak the obligatory pics. Then we went to the pictographs of Atl Rock. These pictographs were carved centuries before by the area's indigenous peoples. Without a Rosetta Stone their meaning is lost to posterity. We then did a hike: Wow. Rachel tolerated the Gen Xers making the obligatory references to Star Wars' Tatooine. She made sure we had plenty of water--and the poor sole--lugged additional water for the group. She was considerate of heat stroke and dryness and had us seek cover in natural shade. Fred was considerate and had the a/c turned on about 15 minutes before our arrival to ensure a cool van. We drove to the visitors center and had a prearranged lunch that Detours had picked for us and which we had prepaid for. Amazing. I can only say good things about Rachel and the driver. Bathrooms are very badly maintained at the park. I would say, nauseating. In addition, there is no where to buy food or water other than at the visitors center and the choices there are paltry.

Took a tour of the Hoover Dam with "Jimmy Vegas" and it was great!! Elevator to Generator Room was down, but he still made it an unforgettable and fun experience!

We came to Vegas but wanted to see more of the area. We decided to do a Bryce Canyon tour and after a lot of searching we went with Detours. Thank God we did. Greg picked us up at our hotel and with his co tour host, Ivan we had a blast. There were only 4 of us (plus two guides) and it was BEYOND words. It was so fun, even being an extremely long trip. We laughed, learned so much, saw unique spots that Greg made sure to show us. We enjoyed the canyon so much and hiked down to through it which wasn't necessarily planned. I seriously think this was the most unbelievable adventure. I recommend this trip to anyone wanting a break from Vegas.

Thanks to a very helpful concierge, we were set up to visit Hoover Dam with Detours and we coudn't be happier with the selection. Our day started with a punctual pick up in a van. Luckily for us, we were the only people despite the capacity of eight. We were immediately introduced a given ample snacks and refreshment for our excursion. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable about the our destination and the surrounding areas. He was constantly pointing out landmarks and giving us a full history of them, and was easily able to tell us about any places we pointed out or any questions we had. He was thorough, patient, friendly and ready to talk about anything. He was ready to go with the flow to accommodate any requests and brought us places we wouldn't have any knowledge of if we decided to venture out with merely a car rental. If you are touring areas off the Strip in Nevada and are unfamiliar with the outlying areas, I would definitely recommend a tour guide to anyone and when you are looking for a tour company, this company is definitely where're one to pick.

We had a great time with Tommy on our Grand Canyon tour. We learned so much on the way there and back about the history and topography. He even took the time to point out fossils! It was a small group which allowed for personal service. I would definitely recommend DeTours

Fantastic trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, with other fun stops along iconic Route 66. I was traveling on my own and wasn't sure which tour company to go with - glad I picked Detours. Was picked up on time by tour guide, Alan, and we only had one other couple on our trip, so plenty of room to spread out in the van. The vehicle was nice, clean and comfortable and there was a DVD player so we watched movies during the ride up and back. Alan was fantastic and was like a human wikipedia about the canyon and the Hoover Dam. This was my first trip to the Grand Canyon and it was well worth it! A few tips:- If you are getting picked up at the Venetian, note that the pick up is at the lower level of the Sands Convention Center, NOT at the taxi stand outside the hotel. - There are plenty of stops along the way to use the restroom and pick up extra snacks.- The couple on my tour paid extra for the helicopter ride into the Canyon and said it was absolutely amazing. - The trip from Las Vegas to the South Rim takes much longer than the West Rim, so plan on an all day trip - we left at 6:30 a.m. and returned around 8:30 p.m.Thanks for an amazing trip!

Would have been much better if we had working air conditioning on the bus. Completely understand things happen, but thought something could be done to remedy the situation while we were at the Dam for 2 hours and the driver was with the bus. Non functioning air conditioning in 110 degree heat is simply unacceptable.

Great and informative tour to the el dorado canyon mine. Got morning snacks, water, funny guide. Very helpful. The tour stopped at maverick helicopters which was exciting to see that's how they get their namesake (this was the detour), they stopped in the maverick terminal to let us purchase coffee and gave us a hot cinnamon roll. All they did was let us explore the terminal and gift shop, they had photos of peter lik which was really neat, no one tried to sell me a helicopter tour but I got to ask about it. We stopped over Hoover dam which was great for some information and photos. Drove through to Nelson Nevada and did the tour, the tour was awesome, the goldmine was so neat and interesting and hopped on the bus again for our last detour. We stopped at lake Mohave. It was beautiful day. We are back to our hotel by noon and ready to explore more! I went on another tour with James he knew anything you wanted to know about any national park! Great Bryce Canyon day trip! So unique and such a magnificent place to see! Detours is a fantastic company! Enough stops on this long drive but still back in town for a fun night. Bryce Canyon is not nearly as busy as the Grand Canyon so seeing it from the perspective of being able to go to multiple national parks it is so worth it!

Terrible Car! Worst experience of my life. The car was ridiculous because of all the bumping and shaking. I asked for pictures of the car and the owner replied no need for pictures you will be impressed. This is the worst experience of a car. The car didn't even have aux cord to be able to listen to music. The chairs are disgusting, because you are bending over and the recliner didn't work. The car was old. Terrible experience.
