Good authentic Chinese restaurants used to mean they have to look kinda questionable, falling apart and greasy on the inside...... well, that's where China Mama steps up and showcases a lovely ambiance and atmosphere. Great spot to bring clients or impress fam and friends. Friendly service and food came out timely. Clean, flavorful, dishes. Always better to dine w a crowd to order more! Eggplant was excellent. Great green beansCan't wait to return!

The serve greatly large portions, and you get your monies worth. The ambiance is a bit jarring. Bright white lights and incredible openness, it can be a little overstimulating to some like myself. The music was upbeat but not too overpowering. The service was swift and all the employees were kind. I went on a Wednesday evening and it was busy, we had about a 30 minute wait for two people at 7:50pm. I rate it about 3.8. Probably would not come back but have no complaints about the food or the service.Update/response to owner: I gave it a 3.8 in the review because I value the overall vibes and ambiance as well as food and service. It was cool, check it out if you want to, personally it did not leave a lasting impression.

This place is delicious and on par with the best Chinese food places in California as well. Pan fried pork buns- nothing special, I'd skip this Sizzling beef - by far my favorite dish. So much flavor and tender meat Sliced fish fillet - delicious!Honey walnut shrimp - very solid Green beans - crispy and goodService was friendly. Some bowls had some gunk on them but the servers quickly swapped them out and I saw them go through the bowls and clean out a few more

On a Sunday afternoon, the Shanghai plaza location is busy! Walked in, and had to join their waitlist, and probably waited for around 30 minutes, to eventually get seated at their bar. Regular seating would have probably taken another 15 minutes. They are pretty slow to get your orders out, so don't expect fast service.Bar Seating (3/10)Heads up their bar seating is not particularly ideal. Heavy traffic, more of a food staging area, and people taking to-go orders next to you. Some places have nice bar seating, this was NOT the best. Try to get a regular tablePRO TIP: Just drive a couple minutes down the street to their other China Mama location, which just re-opened!. EXACT same menu, prices, and this one is larger. MUCH less busy than Shanghai plaza.Fried Lamb with Cumin (8/10):- Pretty crispy! Cumin flavor is delicious, and they give quite a bit of veggies to go along with it.- Lamb does not taste too lamb-ey, and the flavor is actually combined really well to mask any overly gamey flavorSweet and Sour Chicken (6/10):- Tiny portion sizes for $22. This is pretty disappointing. Chinese food is meant to be shared, larger portion sizes for everyone to enjoy! This was really sad to see.- Flavor is mediocre, it really quickly loses any crispiness that they originally had- Has an americanized-ish flavor profile, but overall enjoyable

Absolutely good Chinese food! We stumbled upon this place while looking for a card store. I overheard a few people mention this place while looking around. Anyways, we ordered the sweet n sour chicken, green beans, and chicken fried rice. We loved everything, from beginning to end. The servers were polite. The restrooms were cleaned and well stocked. We enjoyed our lunch and came back the next day and ordered the same thing!

We were the last table they were taking for the night, so super appreciative we didn't have to go searching for another dinner spot!We were HUNGRY and ordered quite a bit for our first visit too. We got Mama's special pancake with scallion ($10.99), Mama's special pan fried pork buns ($17.99), cabbage and pork dumplings ($15.99), signature salted egg yolk prawns ($25.99), and 5 piece Chinese donut ($14.99). Everything was delicious! We had wanted the sesame balls initially, but they were already sold out for the night, so we got the Chinese donut instead. Let me tell you, we were able to eat all the other dishes between just the two of us, but the Chinese donut is heavy and really should be shared family style in a group! Our friendly server tried to warn us that we might not want to try to eat all 5 pieces in one sitting. We should have heeded her warning up front!Despite that eating setback, we loved the dining experience here and can't wait to be back, especially to try the things we had missed the first time!Parking here will be crowded in this plaza, so be patient in driving back and forth for a spot.

When we first arrived at the place, the ambiance was calming. It was a bit noisy since it was peak lunch time. Service was amazing, our server made sure we got everything we needed and made sure we were having a proper experience. Now let's get down to the food.. the Tofu was AMAZING. I couldn't stop eating it with my rice! I nearly ate more than half of it, while my partner ate the rest of what's left. The crispy beef was ok to me. I'm sure it was good for most people, but to me it was ok because I usually eat Panda Express and for some reason tasted like orange chicken. The pot sticker was decent also, I expected a little bit more from this because I thought it would be packing with flavors and juicy, but it wasn't juicy at all. I enjoyed it but I don't think I'd ever get it again. Overall, I had a great experience here since this was my first time.
